Need CS for lunch in HS

Can you recommend a good CS restaurant in HS for lunch? We're doing a half day at the studios and want something good and easy. We have a 1 year old as well so kid friendly is a plus

We've done Pizza Planet for lunch the past 2 trips on our HS day. We enjoyed it - rather decent pizza for cs and the restaurant is very kid friendly. If you're not interested in pizza, I've heard Rosie's All American Cafe is fairly good - menu is mostly limited to burgers & chicken strips.

Backlot Express has some pretty good burgers and stuff and you get the toppings bar which is always a favorite of mine so you can add all the toppings you desire.

Last time we went, my friend and I wanted to eat at Pizza Planet, but it was crazy crowded! So we skipped on it. We happened across Catalina Eddie's and ate there, and had a delicious BBQ Chicken Pizza! All the tables are outside, but shaded, so it wasn't bad.

We did Pizza Planet and really liked it. Only thing is DS wanted to do the arcade so bad. We had to tell him no and he had the sour face for a while. I had the veggie pizza and it was way better than the pepperoni IMO!

I am going to say Pizza planet too. With your munchkin you are going to want somewhere with A/C after an afternoon in the hot FL sun. This place gets VERY crowded during high NOON so a bit earlier or around 2 is a good time to go. With DS now 2 we usually go to a TS for Lunch just to relax after a hot day then dinner at a CS or back at the hotel.

You're not the only one looking for a decent counter service place at the Studios. I've been searching for one, too. The offerings are so bad there that I often work my schedule around not being in the park for a meal, unless it's at a table service location.

Backlot Express is pretty decent, albeit basic. The grilled turkey and vegetable sandwiches are different, at least. The burgers are standard, but there is a toppings bar. Also, the menu at the Studio Catering Co. looks interesting, at least. I went there once and was underwhelmed. Backlot Express is probably a better option, especially with your tyke.

LOL! You sound like us! I know one thing...DON'T go to that ABC Commissary (sp?) It was really horrible when we were there. Honestly, when we ate at Pizza Planet, it was full of flies, so we shoveled our food & quickly left. That just grossed me out & we haven't been back. We may have to try Rosie's Cafe this time. We usually plan 3 days at DHS b/c of RnR & ToT (the best coasters on the planet) so we really need to find a great CS restaurant.

We did Backlot Express twice and twice had poor service.

We love the veggie sandwich at Backlot Express, though I've never seen the topping bar there. Somehow I've missed that.

I've never been there and actually still don't know where it is, lol, but Starring Rolls looks really good. MickyNicki took some pictures in her most recent review, and the sandwiches looked so good! They seem to be a lot more appealing then a hot greasy burger or a hot greasy pizza on a hot day .

ANYWHERE but ABC COMMISARY! Ugh, what a nightmare. Terrible food, terrible lighting, terrible service. Blech.

We always do Pizza Planet. Mainly to stay at the arcade for a bit in the air conditioning.

The only CS we will eat at in HS is Starring Rolls, the menu is limited but the sandwiches and desserts are very good.

Have to agree about Starring Rolls. Great sandwich (only a choice of two when we were there though) and wonderful deserts/cakes. Does make a nice change from burgers etc.
