Spoodles Pizza at Boardwalk!!! Don't Close!!!

Does anyone know the fate of the the Spoodles Pizza window at Boardwalk??? I hope that it is not closed. Or if it is closed, I hope that it is replaced with Pizza from the new restaurant.

Pizza at the Boardwalk is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree---we stayed at the Boardwalk in February, and we loved coming back to the resort mid day and getting some great pizza!

I hope the pizza window stays open too, because it is convenient. I wouldn't go so far as to say the pizza is 'great' and certainly not the 'best,' but to each his own.

It's not the best, but there is something really nice about sitting at the tables outside as the sun sets and eating pizza. It's also so convenient when you're staying at the BW to just run down for a pizza. I'm excited about Cat's restaurant, but I'm really hoping the pizza window will stay.

idk it is probably some of the best pizza in Disney (not counting fancy flatbread type stuff). Not saying its the best once you go outside of Disney but for Disney it's pretty good!

I read it's going to stay open and I hope that's true! DH and I love to grab a couple of slices and a couple of glasses of sangria, and sit out at the bar-height red tables along the waterfront. Just looking out over the water for 30 minutes or so is such a relaxing break!

So I'm a little out of the loop, I knew Cat was taking over Spoodles but have no idea the theme or timeline for this. Can anyone fill me in a bit? I'll be there (hopefully) in late Feb, will it be rebranded by then?

Spoodles closes for good August 2. It is thought Cat Cora's restaurant, Kouzzina, will open in that space sometime in September 2009. No official opening date has been announced.

I saw Cat Cora's cooking demo at the DCA Food & Wine event a month and 1/2 ago. I specifically asked her if she was going to utilize the Spoodles takeout window when she opened Kouzzina. She said she was going to keep it (and specifically mentioned that it had a great pizza oven) and seemed enthused to be able to use the counter service option to offer a broader accessibility of price points.

No, it's not. It just depends on what kind of pizza you prefer. If you prefer the kind they serve - then it's good. If you don't - then it's not. Some people like thin pizza, some thick, some crisp, some chewy, some light on the sauce, some heavy on the sauce, some with lots of toppings, some with light toppings. It's a personal preference.

I would describe their current pizza as a medium thick, semi-chewy crust, with lots of mild sauce and toppings.

I happen to like their pizza, but I like it more when I can order a whole pie instead of buying by the slice. The fresh pizza is better. Don't get me wrong - I'd prefer going to California Pizza Kitchen - but this pizza is definitely not bad.
