Hey! On my last two trips to the World we had an open day for dinner and we called Disney Dining. The first time they said Cap 'N' Jacks was open. We took it and LOVED IT! I had never even heard of it before? The second time we needed a ressie they also said it was open and having had a great meal there before.. we also took it. Why is it i never hear anyone mention this restaurant? Maybe its juts me but i never see reviews or see anyone try to get reservations here. I dont even hear people say BAD things, i just never hear anything at all. Sooo i was wondering if you guys have ever been, what are your thoughtsand if not.. its worth a try!

We used to get a lot of mentions of Cap'n Jacks before they took the lobster tails off the menu - now, not so much.

Most guests are not looking to eat at Downtown Disney. They want table service in the theme parks, or close to the theme parks.

True, i had forgotten about the lobster tails. That is disappointing they got rid of them! too expensive for them with the dining plan i guess.

When did the Lobster Tails come off of the menu??? I have absolutely no need to ever return to this place...urrrgh

They went off the menu in October 2009. (I am certain I walked by there on October 4 and they were not on the menu then)

I went in October. It was good, but nothing spectacular.

Mom had a salad and the pot roast. I think she said it was good but a little salty. We'd hoped my DD would eat the green beans that came with it, but they were herbed, and she wouldn't touch them.

I had the clam chowder (okay...but I've had much better) and the crab cakes (good..probably close to the best I've ever had, but I've never really had any that would send me running back for more, either.)

DD had vegetable beef soup and the mac & cheese. Now... if anything would get a prize, it would be that soup! My child ate every drop and asked for more! However...she would not touch the mac & cheese. (When will I learn not to order that for her anywhere???)

Overall...we'd go back...but we'd rather explore other options first. 3.5 or so of 5 stars. Okay...seems like dessert was great...so maybe we can bump it to 4 of 5.

I remember when we walked past Cap 'n' Jacks my brother wanted me to look because he thought it was a Captain Jack Sparrow's restaurant. I knew it wasn't.

without the lobster there is absolutely nothing worth eating or wasting time for in there...hope they do something to it...i know not everything has to be characterized by maybe just maybe captain jack should show up at his lair (sp??) once in a blue moon:rotfl:
