Is it just us or is everyone experiencing delays ....

in receiving confirmation of their reservations. We have been waiting a month now. I was told by MS that the company responsible for the downloading and printing of the confirmations was being extremely slow and that it was taking about 2 weeks for US owners to get their confirmations. Postage to the UK has always been slow but I am really cross about this delay. It is costing us a lot of money.

It isn't just you. We are in Canada and we normally get ours about a month later.

The USA has a very low tier of post (that we don't even have in Canada) which takes forever to ship out of the USA. I have experienced this delay in shipping packages from the USA to Canada (and I try to avoid it). This low postal tier has very cheap rates.

If DVC were to pay more for international postage, they could use a higher tier and get our confirmations to us in better time. I am not sure if most members would welcome the increase in annual dues to cover it (as the majority of members are in the continental USA and they aren't as affected by this delay as we are).

Are they necessary at all? I can just go online to my account and print out the page that shows my reservations and conf#. What else is needed? I've never needed that paper than shows up in the mail. Waste of $ if you ask me. I've never had a hotel send out a paper confirmation either. Heck, I don't even get anything in the mail for airline tickets or car rental either.

We usually get ours in about 3-4 weeks. I wish we had the option to just print our confirmations through the Members website so that time, envelopes and postage can be saved. :thumbsup2

I am in the US and today I received the confirmation letter for a reservation I made on May 23, so it took 9 calendar days. Sorry it's taking longer than that for those of you in Canada and the the UIK.

I wish they would just email them or at least give you the option. Seems like they could save a lot of money. Or they could just expand the info that is on the website and we could print them ourselves if we wanted/needed a paper copy. I've never needed one.

We received our confirmation in the mail less than 10 days after we booked a stay back on May 11th. Your reservation should be on the DVC Member website with confirmation #, etc.

I agree, Carol! They certainly know our email addresses, so why not save on postage? I suspect it has something to do with their ackwards IT supposrt.

No delay here. I made a reservation last week and modifiied another reservation on the same day. I got both confirmations yesterday, so it was only 5 business days. Not bad.

The reason why I need them is because I have rented out points this year as we are not going "home" until October 2011. We are in the UK and my guests are in the US. When I first made the reservation the British £ was rubbish against the US$ but now the value of the British £ is going up and it is costing me a lot of money. ;)

I received one confirmation about 2 weeks after I booked it. Last week I rang MS and they re-requested all the confirmations. I got one today - the one I had already got. :confused3

It normally takes about a month for us to receive our confirmations. Although, right before Memorial Day we made a change and I received the new confirmation yesterday. We never received our confirmations that quickly before.
