Dress shopping round 2:
So I had arranged on Thursday that I would go back to Davids Bridals and act like I've never been there. Well I show up at my appointment, and the lady says: Oh so you've already come in and actually picked up my dress.
I respond like I have no idea what you are talking about. I've never been here. She looks at my file and says some of my info (luckily I had given them the wrong date at the time so that worked in my advantage) I played dumb stating how I went there once to pick and shoes and that must be why its in the system. But I was mad. So I pretended to fill out new paperwork and my mom and FMIL went to look around. Once they were away, I talked to a clerk stating the original plan and they apologized, but my sale lady wasn't there yet (she was the one I had been with originally) so we looked around. When the woman arrived, I scoped her out and reminded her of the plan and informed her we were still looking for an at home reception desk since I felt bad about the waste of her time, as well as BM dresses.
FMIL and mom had picked out some dresses for me to try on and I got a dressing room...and the sales woman handed me a bustier (which I didn't use) and a crinnie (which she didn't do last time)...boy those are a pain! But I love the idea of a dyed crinoline. It always looks so cool in the pictures!
Dress #1: Very beautiful but HEAVY!!! I like it, but I don't love it.
Dress #2: Nice, but not great. Eh.
Dress #3: Too big and too nightgowny
Dress #4: Too old.
Dress #5: I tried on some more casual dresses for fun, but I don't think this hit my hips correctly
Dress #6: I'm laughing because that one bead design is right on my bellybutton and I've never be able to get over it because I'm neurotic.
And here's the dress!!!
Did you guess correctly? This dress unfortunately was a smaller size than what I ordered so it's a little tight. The woman said I should wear it with a small crinnie but didn't give me one so I'll have to check that one. A small bustle would need to be added and the straps adjusted, plus **** cups.
Haha. But I love it. It's me. It's pretty but not overly girly.
And for effect, mom and FMIL wanted me to try on a Cinderella dress.
(Classic Sam face)
It was GORGEOUS!
But it really didn't fit my personality, nor the theme of the wedding. It was dressier and more formal, and I feel like I'd need to have the carriage, and wedding pavillion and major domo, instead of our epcot/LSS affair. I know you ladies would tell me that I should wear what I want, but it just wasn't right. Plus it was heavy. and I already got the other dress. I really love it. But I like the way the veil is with this dress. Definitely downward and not plopped on the top of my head.
