Hold times on phone, making ADRs

When I calledaboput 10 days ago and made changes to the reservation for our upcoming trip (Aug 30 through Sept 4), the CM reminded me that my 90 day window was approaching. She warned me that many people had been calling right at 7am EDT & had been on hold for up to 90 minutes. I won't like, for the first time I was dreading making a phone call to Disney.
This morning, we hit our 90 day window & I called at 7:45am just to try my luck. The length of time I was on hold? About 3 seconds.... After I answered the last of the yes/no questions, select 1/2 options and was told about the survey I was immediately put through to a CM. I admitted up front that I was completely stunned that she'd answered & told her about the warning I'd received. Then I had to admit that since I expected to be on hold so long, I wasn't completely ready!! I went ahead and made the two reservations that I was sure about & decided to call back later today for the rest.

3 seconds! :banana::cool1::rotfl2::yay:

I just called and got straight through as well, and got everything I wanted within 10 minutes of the time I asked for, hopefully this means things are settling down now.

The CM told me that since we've reached the 90 day mark where the Dining Plan is winding down & schools are starting, that things have definitely slowed down for them. I'm hopeful that this is an indicator of how crowded (or not!) the parks might be 90 days from now.

I called at exactly 7am on the 90 day mark on May 22nd and was only on hold for about 12 minutes!

I have called on three different occasions for our ADR's and my hold time for the first call was 47 minutes. The second was 30 minutes and the third was no wait at all. Since all my ADR's have now been made and tweaked I am hoping that I will not have to call again!!!:goodvibes

I called on Saturday at 7am and got right through. I made 5 reservations in about 13 minutes total.

I just called for ADRs and was on hold for maybe 2mns, so that part was good. The not-so-good part is that the CM didn't seem very well informed. I got odd times for my ADRs (nothing available for Boma after 8pm but plenty available around 6pm ???). I also didn't like how now we have to wait 'til end of the call to get reservation numbers all at once... it took the lady FOREVER to get to the restaurants, she said her system had just slowed way down...

I experienced the same thing. I had to ask her for the confirmation numbers all at once at the end of the call. She kept offering my dinner reservations at 4:50 & 5pm. I wonder if they're now trying to fill those slots first since they're the hardest to fill.

Will you be down there the same time as me? I've been a fan of your last few trip reports & really look forward to a new one!!

I posted this on another thread this morning but: I called this morning to make my ADRs, exactly 90 days out. I began calling at 6:58. Each time I got a recording saying the office was closed. On the 4th try, I got right through, no wait time at all. Nothing available for LeCellier on the days I wanted, so I made 3 other reservations, then the system crashed. The CM told me she'd call me back when the system was back up. She called within 5 minutes. Unfortunately, the ADRs we had made earlier were all cancelled out of the system, so we had to start from scratch. This time there was LeCellier for lunch on one of the days I had requested so I booked it. CM informed me that all confirmation numbers are given at the end of the call, so that's why I lost my original ADRs that we had made. Not only did I pick up LeCellier, but I was able to get everything I wanted, close to the times I wanted, except for 50's PTC at 8:05 p.m. for dinner. :scared1: Until you have your confirmations, nothing is final.

That's awesome. Glad they got things together.
Now I don't need to worry about any problems when
I make mine. Thanks for posting.

I called on Saturday @ 7:00 am. I got right through but it took me 1:03 to make 26 ADRs. I know it was a lot of them but I knew exactly what I wanted and was very organized with it all. The lag time between requests was LONG. I got most of what I wanted so that had me pleased but I don't think my CM was comfortable with the new system. I should add that she did not do the normal speil about needing park entry and arrive 1 hour before for any of them. It probably would have been 2 hours then!

Now that I'm thinking about comments I've been reading, she did give me the confirmation number after each request so that is probably the delay? I guess she was closing out the shopping cart each time. It was definitely a long hour for me.

Wow, a fan !!! We're going July 8-15 (yep just making ADRs now, I know, I'm a DISdisgrace). When will you be there?
Wonder what's up with making people book dinner at 5pm. We like to dine late. I got our ADR for Fulton which is the one I really wanted anyway, I figure I'll pop by the concierge desk at CSR and take care of the other ones.

Man, I hope that is the case. We are not going until the last week of September, and I am really hoping that the craziness that went with ADR's over the summer month and during the early part of free dining will be gone by then.

It sounds like things are slowing down, I hope that trend continues.

Glad things are slowing down for everyone!
