The veil is gorgeous. I hate that they are so expensive :headache:

The enchanted look is a very unique idea, I love it. Especially if your DF wants to do it. It would look awesome :thumbsup2

I know...how can they be so expensive?!?!? Thanks for the confidence boost Laurie. I'm nervous about it, but it could be really cool.

I think enchanted-y outfits would be fun!
Thanks Cassie! We want a fun wedding. We're very silly and informal so I want a mix of classy and fun.

the tux looks great. I like both of them. Whichever you choose will look great :goodvibes

The tux is pretty different too. I like it. I can't decide which I like better...

I think that's a great idea to try out the Enchanted outfit and like you said if it doesn't turn out exactly as you picture it in your minds you can always use it for the MNSSHP :thumbsup2 I love the shoes you found, its always so hard to find cute flats!

That's exactly what I thinking Vanessa. I'd have to find a cheap princessy dress though (or would they let me go in my wedding dress...hey it is a costume! ;) I like the silver shoes too! The dress is a light off white so matching may be a pain. I just hope they are comfy. I'm on my feet all day (as a teacher) so I care much more for comfort than look, but it's always nice to find both.

Dress shopping tomorrow!! This time will be "official" so we'll take better shots. My mom and I taking FMIL with us (she really wants to come)...even though I have my mind set on one already. I'll post the big reveal this weekend because...

I have a confession to make. I already picked the dress, because I already bought the dress!!! And it came in! I picked it up yesterday and it's hiding in my basement. :rotfl: Very few people know we bought the dress, because my mom and I actually bought it when we were still planning the wedding in 2011 :cool1: Good thing we moved up the date! :thumbsup2 Now just need to pick flowers, hair, hair piece, veil, jewelry, shoes, DF's outfit, invites, sign our contract....hahah The list is never ending!

Yesterday I got an email from theknot.com announcing it was only 17 months to go!! So now it's less than that! Yay.

And I got a job!! I still have more interviews to go on, but i was hired in the same district I am now, but at a different school for fulltime, tenure track Lab Chemistry. It's not the district I really want to be in, but it pays the most! ;) So that's better than being in a district I don't really want to be in and making less. The school seems a lot better than the one I'm currently in and the administration seems much better. So I'm pretty happy!! :cool1:

Very sneaky about the dress, but yea for having it :cool1: I can't wait to see pictures.

Also with the veil, try ebay, or etsy and I know that Joann's and Michael's have basic veils that you could just add beads too. I'm sure AC Moore (I miss AC Moore) has them too, if you feel like being crafty. I even explored making my own, but I'm not wearing a veil now, so it's irrelevant.

Congrats on the job!!

Here are some flower ideas. I LOVE :lovestruc cynabidium orchids and purple calla lillies!

I am totally in love with this bouquet! I think it's gorgeous!:lovestruc

And here are pictures of the color swatches. I think we're going with the purple and green :thumbsup2

This color combo is stunning! I am partial to green as it's one of my main colors but I never thought of mixing it with purple!!! I love it!

And then I found this company where they have the DIY kits...but they still aren't cheap...but they are SOOOO lovely.

Ugh and they won't let me post this one:

The last two are my favorites. I'd try the 3rd with a green flower maybe...and the last I'd change the insert to the aubergine color. OMG I want these SOOOO bad

Heck here's a link to the whole site.

This is terrible! Haha I love them. :headache:[/QUOTE]

Now these I love so much that I am thinking about stealing thempirate: I worry that the orchid would get squished in the mail tough. I know they're silk but I still don't know how envelope friendly they would be:confused3

I think the Enchanted outfit would be great for DF if it's a nice quality! I just rented the movie because I hear people talk about it on the boards all the time and thought it was sooo cute! Let us know how it turns out!

i am all caught up! my darn internet hasnt been working at home!

Those flower choices / ideas are perfect- i may have to borrow the ideas as they are lovely and bright coloured flowers- what i want! hehe

I cannot wait for the photos you get to take tomorrow! woooo hooooo for you already having your dress, now give us some photos girl! hehe;)

Haha Laurie, it wasn't so much stealth as it was shame. My mom's all ready for the pictures. I know I could find cheaper veils but I'm nervous about quality of the fabric...I don't know. I've always had expensive tastes, haha. Give me 2 things in a blind test and I'll pick the more expensive one. Always! :confused3 I'm definitely checking it out. Unfortunately on etsy I've found a lot of cage veils but not many fingertip length. I'll try on different styles tomorrow!

I'm glad you like the colors and the potential invites Adelia. I love green and wanted a matching color and I'm not a pink girl. It all came together really nicely I think. I love the colors! And those invites are amazing. DF still wants the snow white ones, but I'd rather use them at home, and use these absolute gorgeous ones. Please go ahead and use them. I think the site is fabulous! I'd love to order a sample and if/when I do, I'll definitely post about the quality!

Glad you caught up Stacey, and your interest is finally working! I can't wait for awesome pictures, not poor quality cell phone pics. I don't think they did justice to the dresses! Go ahead and use the flowers! I'm not a rose girl at all and I LOVE the lillies and orchids. Hopefully I can find some high quality silks.

Can't wait until tomorrow ladies! Lots of pictures I promise!

Dress shopping round 2:

So I had arranged on Thursday that I would go back to Davids Bridals and act like I've never been there. Well I show up at my appointment, and the lady says: Oh so you've already come in and actually picked up my dress. :scared1: I respond like I have no idea what you are talking about. I've never been here. She looks at my file and says some of my info (luckily I had given them the wrong date at the time so that worked in my advantage) I played dumb stating how I went there once to pick and shoes and that must be why its in the system. But I was mad. So I pretended to fill out new paperwork and my mom and FMIL went to look around. Once they were away, I talked to a clerk stating the original plan and they apologized, but my sale lady wasn't there yet (she was the one I had been with originally) so we looked around. When the woman arrived, I scoped her out and reminded her of the plan and informed her we were still looking for an at home reception desk since I felt bad about the waste of her time, as well as BM dresses.

FMIL and mom had picked out some dresses for me to try on and I got a dressing room...and the sales woman handed me a bustier (which I didn't use) and a crinnie (which she didn't do last time)...boy those are a pain! But I love the idea of a dyed crinoline. It always looks so cool in the pictures!

Dress #1: Very beautiful but HEAVY!!! I like it, but I don't love it.

Dress #2: Nice, but not great. Eh.

Dress #3: Too big and too nightgowny

Dress #4: Too old.

Dress #5: I tried on some more casual dresses for fun, but I don't think this hit my hips correctly

Dress #6: I'm laughing because that one bead design is right on my bellybutton and I've never be able to get over it because I'm neurotic.

And here's the dress!!!

Did you guess correctly? This dress unfortunately was a smaller size than what I ordered so it's a little tight. The woman said I should wear it with a small crinnie but didn't give me one so I'll have to check that one. A small bustle would need to be added and the straps adjusted, plus **** cups. Haha. But I love it. It's me. It's pretty but not overly girly.

And for effect, mom and FMIL wanted me to try on a Cinderella dress.

(Classic Sam face)
It was GORGEOUS! :headache: But it really didn't fit my personality, nor the theme of the wedding. It was dressier and more formal, and I feel like I'd need to have the carriage, and wedding pavillion and major domo, instead of our epcot/LSS affair. I know you ladies would tell me that I should wear what I want, but it just wasn't right. Plus it was heavy. and I already got the other dress. I really love it. But I like the way the veil is with this dress. Definitely downward and not plopped on the top of my head.

Hi I'm Amy. I've lurked a little in your thread. I really like your dress. I also like dress #5.

I love the beading on the back of the dress and the fact that it has the straps. I know how I had such a hard time when I was looking for dresses with some straps. Sorry to hear about how you encountered some rudeness at David's Bridal; it seems like they unfortunately aren't the nicest to everyon

Sam - I love the dress that you picked. I would definitely go with that one.

Love that dress!! :thumbsup2

I love the dress!!!

very pretty dress! you look beautiful. congrats:goodvibes

Thank you guys!! I can't wait to actually wear it. Now onto more planning!!! I think Df is getting the outfit made on Etsy, it will either be awesome or an expensive halloween costume.

LOVE the dress! I love the back! It has just enough sparkle and will be perfect for your wedding!!!! Congrats!

yay you found it! (Oh and you tried on my dress lol, the "nightgowny" one is the one I chose:goodvibes)

I love the dress too :goodvibes I know what you mean about the princess dresses they are beautiful - but don't fit in with my day or are not very "me" I love looking at them though :lovestruc
