i am wondering about a few places we are thinking about trying during our sept trip-- if you could please give me the good, bad, and the ugly on the following:

Tonys
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Yachtsman steakhouse
Captains grille
Sci-Fi
Kona Cafe

or any other steak places other than Le Cellier that you can suggest that are one table serve? we are just really torn with ADRS this year:( i think because we want to try some new places-- please let me know what you think of the above-- take em or leave em? also these are the places that we are trying to get for sure:
liberty tree tavern, ohana, Le Cellier, Mama Melrose, Coral Reef

please help me with my choices-- any opinions are greatly appreciated-- and thanks so much for helping:)

Just went to Tony's a few weeks ago for the first timea and will not be going back. The food was rather bland, service mediocre.
The Sci Fi did not thrill us either but were pleasantly surprised by the 50s Diner food and service.
Ended up going to Kona Cafe 3 times for breakfast, once for dinner and had a great meal everytime. Tonga Toast, yum!

TonysWe've done lunch and dinner; we prefer lunch as the portions are smaller and it is not as hectic as dinner
Whispering Canyon Cafewon't be going back--had horrible service from the host to the waitress and the food (we had the skillet) was not good at all--DH got sick on it
Yachtsman steakhousenever done
Captains grillenever done
Sci-Fiwe haven't been back in about seven or eight years but we always enjoyed the burgers and onion rings and shakes; we hope to go on our next trip

Comments in red. Are you doing LTT for lunch or dinner? We've never done dinner (and in case you were unaware the characters are no longer there), but we really enjoyed lunch--we were actually surprised by how good it was.

I'd also suggest Yak & Yeti--it was the second best meal of our trip this past September (second only to LeCellier).

Yachtsman is our favorite place on property we go there at least once every visit. We have never had a bad meal, and the waitstaff is excellent. Tony's is just ok ate there once and won't be rushing back. Sci Fi is ok for burgers and thats about it. Kona is also a good choice.

:thumbsup2We do Sci-Fi every trip. Always enjoyed the burgers, onion rings, ribs and shakes. The service has always been excellent. We are trying in Aug 09 Tony's for the first time for dinner. Hope it's good. Enjoy and good luck.

We love Whispering Canyon. The food is delicious & plentiful. Plus, we get tired of buffets (& elbowing people at buffets), so it's nice to sit there & be served. Another bonus: the Wilderness Lodge is a really pretty resort to explore.
