Oooh Indian food and onion rings sounds wonderful. I love Indian food, we have a World Market here in town and I love going in there and getting the different Indian sauces and seasonings. Yummy. Do you have a specific tower you want to stay in at the DLH?

Your brother and SIL seem to have it together and I respect people who know they don't want kids. Too many times people allow themselves to get pushed into having children when they really don't want them.

It was very good! Had my usual...can never remember the name...spinach and potato dish, with the jasmine rice of course, and some raitta. (raita? yogurt/cucumber/carrot stuff) And o'rings from, of all places, Jack in the Box. :rotfl: Eh, they were good. Hit the spot.

I don't have any tower in mind!

They are a very good, strong couple who know exactly what they do and don't want out of life. They were pressured heavily, especially by her parents, about children. They were pressured by people...you'll change your mind, might as well have them now b/c you'll want to later, what if you decide you want them once it's too late, etc etc. But if they had kids...they wouldn't be where they are, and they LOVE where they are. Nice house, 2 cats with a good catsitter, the ability for her to go off to the NYC offices, to go to Hawaii for a deposition, for my brother to go to Australia for a month on business...they love their lives, and love being so generous with their family (SIL told me today that their "extended stay hotel" is open in June, and brother made sure I knew to have him book and pay for the airfare), it's who they want to be, and I'm so proud of them for knowing who they want to be!

Dinner sounds amazingly wonderful to me. Jack in the Box's onion rings are better than Burger Kings for sure.

just found this and subbing in!

Oh gosh! don't feel bad!

did you see that I got a new puppy?

I did see the puppy info. Amazing!

And I love your sig line, by the way.

I booked the Disneyland Express last night. Still haven't gotten an email, but I did it more than 48 hours before so I'm sure it'll be OK.

And along with everything else we're dealing with...someone hacked one of my email accounts. :scared1: I was worried about a computer virus, but we ran a Mac antivirus scan and I'm fine. So hubby figures some spammer with a password program snagged mine and sent out an email to everyone on my list.

And what's rotten about that? Even when you notice it an hour after it happens? It's that you can't send an email saying "don't open that other one!", because you've sent so many emails in the last 24 hours that your account is blocked. :headache:

What fun!

Oh gosh how awful is that. Thankfully you didn't pick up a virus.

Well I'm already terribly behind.

Why? Because I woke up with the mother of all headaches. So bad that I used an icepack, made hubby put pressure on my sinuses (haven't had anyone else do that since my mom was alive and I was around her! much nicer than pushing on your own cheekbones), drank coffee early, AND took two ibuprofen. Absolutely unprecedented.

So now I'm still tense from the headache though the full-on pain is gone, but I'm a bit woozy from the ibuprofen, to which I am ridiculously sensitive.

Robert and E have gone off to grandma's...I was supposed to go to but didn't want to, so maybe this is some sort of universal gift, giving me a reason to not go. Or maybe I slept wrong. Or maybe the universe would have fallen out of the, um, sky? if I'd actually been prepared, ontime, with all of us getting to sleep by 8 like I wanted! Who knows? All I know is I'm at home while they are having a visit.

We've made it a bit easier on ourselves by deciding to check one bag instead of doing all carryon to avoid the $15 first checked bag fee. I was stressing about fitting our liquids into 3 baggies...we're bringing our own peanut butter and jam for E, and although we found little packets, they took up TWO baggies! Which left us cramming two hair product packages, sunscreen in a 3 oz bottle, arnica in a 3 oz bottle (can't do disneyland without arnica cream), and that was too much! So I have played a mental game with myself, pretending that the airline tickets were $5 more each (and since we got a screamin' deal thanks to a kind dis'er's VA code that's still a deal), and just paid for the checked bag. We're taking Alaska home, and for our trip they still have one free checked bag per person, so it'll just be that one, one-bag, fee for the whole trip.

Of course I still want to take some of the PB&J in a baggie, so it's mainly the hair products that *have to* be in the checked bag. Oh the things we have to contend with in this era of air travel...:rotfl:

Next time we'll have extra budgeted funds to just go to Sephora and get hair goop! And a quick trip to walmart while there to get our fave sunscreen (No Ad, a walmart brand, of excellent sunscreen with no stinkiness, no stickiness, and it smooths on like the most expensive moisturizer...it's the one thing I love from walmart!). Hmm, sounds like I'd be an excellent candidate for Owners Locker if they branched out to Anaheim! :goodvibes

Well I think my first load of laundry is done. OH, and we've decided to schedule in a time to do laundry during the trip, so we don't have to bring allllll the clothes, so that's nice. Anyway, I gotta keep moving! Gotta give the guys haircuts, too, when they get home. Ack!

I'm still trying to figure out if we should keep our b'day Minnie's PS...decisions decisions.

don't stress--it will all get done and you will have a WONDERFUL time!

Woo! You're going to have a fantastic time, Molly! I just added my Minnie breakfast part of my TR today if you want to check it out, it's on the last page. It's mostly just pictures of the characters. We had a blast, it was really fun and good good breakfast food.

How on earth did I miss your PTR? I always follow your trips (in lurker-like fashion). Yay, now I can look forward to the actual report! :)

Hi Molly~I just got here too, and now I think you are gone! Can't wait to hear all about everything. I am doing a Mom and boys trip in Oct, and was thinking of the BBB, so can't wait for your report.

I'm enjoying reading this. We recently returned from DL with my 2 daughters (28 and 30) and 2 grandchildren (3 and 1). We had the best time...stayed at the DLH. Your child will love the Neverland Pool. We went to Magic Mornings (well worth it!!) and would come back during the most crowded and warmest time of the day to swim and nap...then back to DL or DCA. One morning we also took in Mickey's Toontown Morning Madness ...very cute. My grandchildren really enjoyed the character meals (as did we)...we went to three. Goofy's Kithchen for dinner (good food including prime rib - visited with Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale. We arrived rather late for dinner - 20 minutes before closing, despite that the food was still good and fresh); Storyteller's Cafe (GCH) and Minnie and Friends (Plaza Inn -DL) for breakfast - Both had good food including freshly-made omelets and good character interaction. Characters at Storyteller's - Koda and Kenai ("Brother Bear"), Rafiki ("Lion King"), Brer Fox, Chip and Dale....characters at Minnie's - Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Chip and Dale, Fairy Godmother, Rafiki, Captain Hook, and Geppeto. All the characters were great with the children. Some of our other favorite dining was Hooke's Point (DLH), Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen , Rainforest Cafe, Tortilla Joe's (DTD) and Riverside Terrace. If you go to www.anaheimoc.org and click on specials, you can get coupons for Disneyland Express or SuperShuttle, Rainforest Cafe and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen...love their beignets. (Bengal BBQ, White Water Snacks, dole whips and churros were also big hits). I knew our 3 year old grandson would have a great time (his favorite rides were the Matterhorn, Tom Sawyer Island, the canoes...heck every ride he was tall enough to ride he wanted to "go again!" Favorite characters -Mickey, Donald, and Goofy). However, I never imaged what a wonderful time our 1 year old granddaughter would have (she loved Pooh and Koda...and loved riding "It's A Small World" and the Carousel). She laughed or pointed on all the rides, too. If she was too little, we just did a child swap. Whatever you decide, I know you'll have a great time.

We're back. I ended up not bringing computer or phone, even though I was supposed to meet up with people. :( Sorry about that, I only got an hour of sleep the night before the trip and was NOT thinking things through.

However we had a good time!

I am happy to see that you had a good trip. I am all for leaving the computer and the phone home. We were at Disneyland one time and they tried to call my husband into work. Umm Hello we are over 400 miles from home I don't think so.:rotfl:

I can't wait to heard the rundown and see the pictures.:yay: Were Eamon and Peter Pan reunited? How many times did everyone make it on GRR in this trip? Did you decide to do Minnie and Friends? These questions and more are eagerly awaiting responses!! I think I had forgotten this was a bit of a longer trip for you until today - or am I imagining that it was longer? Wasn't this trip longer by a day or two than your previous family trips to DLR? I could be going senile and making up things, but it seemed longer!:lmao::lmao:

ETA (after reading Michele's post): Even though I like having my phone with me in case of some hideous emergency, I NEVER talk on it while I am out. I only use it if we are meeting up with someone and we have to communicate to state where we are. My friend Shawn, however, is a different story. She brings her phone with her and for some reason, even though she lives 5 minutes from DLR and has basically been in Anaheim for half of her life, as soon as she steps foot in DLR, every member of her family has to call her periodically through the trip. She sees and talks to these people all the time - she even lives with one sister and her nephew - and I only see her once or twice a year if I am lucky - sometimes not that much. But they all decide to call her throughout the trip and she just answers and starts chit chatting and it drives me NUTS! Okay, off my soapbox now.

Augh! You were there????? That was only our second day in the parks, when you posted.

Yeah, hubby had to take a couple business related calls while at the parks. Sat in the GCH lobby finding out that he didn't get yet another job that he's perfect for within amazon, but that's OK, he's got m'soft, so thhhpppthhhht on amazon (who made a perfectly decent business decision that we support, but we HATE this whole losing the not-yet-vested stock grants especially since they were a rather large part of his yearly raise, and it just happened to happen before he got some certifications he's wanted, and while they had nothing he was 100% qualified for).

Sherry...let's not talk about GRR. Not yet at least. But let's just say...it was really busy (much busier than last year) and REALLY hot (though not as hot as it is in TACOMA WASHINGTON today!!!!!!!!), and we were not alone in wanting to enjoy the GRR goodness. And yet the FP machines were off off off.

So let's not talk about GRR.

I am doing a Mom and boys trip in Oct, and was thinking of the BBB, so can't wait for your report.

I hope that when you do it, your report will show the implementation of some of my strong suggestions for them. On our way to the Grayline bus I randomly started talking to some non-costumed CMs who seemed *extremely* happy to hear my annoyances with the BBB for boys, and were very happy to have my feedback. So maybe some non-pink cover things, boy-appropriate wording on things, etc...

I'm giving my whole trip away!

I do think this was our best trip yet, though still not perfect and we were *this* close to renting me some wheels b/c I did something horrid to my ankle. (and then I found Disney Crocs Athens and was better)
