thank you so much. I am calling them right now!
Nothing to worry about. You can't do anything about the weather and DME works very well for the vast majority of guests. I would say that only about 5% of the guests have a less than good experience with DME.This is our family's first trip to WDW... the two things that worry me the most is the weather and Magical Express...my wife says I'm too pessimistic...

Unfortunately, as of April 1st, anyone arriving at MCO at 10pm or later MUST claim their own luggage. They will not claim any luggage arriving 10pm or later.
Also, from what I understand, even if you choose to ignore this rule, the folks at the DME desk will instruct you to head back up to luggage claim to retrieve your luggage.
I would put a nice, identifying piece of ribbon or such on the car seat. That way, it will be easy to spot. When you get to the DME checkin counter, they will ask you how many pieces of luggage you checked. You can tell them then, about the car seat that is untagged. Give them the claim check for that piece and they should have no trouble getting it to you. Will you be renting a car while there? I'm assuming you realize that you won't be able to use the car seat on any of the buses or such while at WDW.Ok, so we leave tomorrow...I have both suitcases tagged with the yellow DME tag but I am also checking my son's carseat. I believe I just read that I need to tag it with something bright and easy to spot and just go to the counter and let them know they need to get that as well?
I don't think I would be able to get that carseat and drag it over to the bus on my own with a toddler in tow. I just want to make sure Disney is grabbing everything and not leaving the carseat behind.
DME doesn't send out a confirmation email. And I can't say for sure if it will show up on your reservation if viewed online. What you can do is to call the number you booked your resort reservation at, and ask them if they can see the DME reservation. If they can, you're all set. Then, about 4-5 weeks before you travel, you should get that DME info packet in the mail.I called on Tuesday and had ME added to my reservation but there isn't anything on my reservation online that shows this addition. I also didn't get a confirmation email. Is this standard? Should I call again?

Has ANYONE since new guidelines were put in place, had the experience of arriving just before 10pm or slightly later & HAD their luggage transported to their hotel?
If there's no one, could I beg some the more recent posters in a similar situation to post their experiences when they get back from their trip.
THANKS!
One of the ways to save yourself the aggravation would be to ask you resort's Bell Services to hold your DME bags 'til morning. Disney says to expect your DME bags to be brought to your room about 3 hours after you check into your resort. If you landed at 9:50 p.m., perhaps you checked-in at your resort around 11 p.m. You got your bags at 1 a.m., about 2 hours after you checked-in ... you actually got BETTER service than promised.Hi.. My plane landed at 9:50pm and when we got off the plane we headed to DME and asked iff they would get our bags or if we needed too. They said that they would get them and bring them to the resort. SO we headed the rest of the way to DME and checked in. Rode the bus to our resort. Checked in to the resort and got to our room. My question at the point was were we going to receive our bags yet tonight or would they come in the morning? I had packed a change of clothes in my carryon just in case it wasn't going to be till morning but I wanted to know if we should stay awake or if we could get some sleep since we had an early morning ADR. I tried and tried calling bell services and was not getting an answer. Finally my hubby was able to get someone on the line and found out we would get our bags tonight. It was after 1am when we got the bags. So... were I to do that again I would not yellow tag the bags and would pick them up ourselves. Would have saved a lot of aggravation.
Not sure why, but I'm hearing of more and more people not getting their DME packets in time for their trips. That's a bit discouraging to say the least. Let us know what your dh finds out when he calls. We leave in 10 days and have not yet recieved our DME pack! Hubby is calling today to find out. Typically we have gotten them mailed to us way in advance!
Anyone else gotten them last minute?

If you arrive ontime at 9:10, you should be at your resort by 10:30..the average time is about 70 mins. I've taken the bus to POP about 5 times now....all but one time we were the first stop, then the bus went to CSR and AKL, but routes are subject to change at any time.Someone left a post that they thought the buses left 2x an hour. Has anyone recently taken the ME to an AS/POP on a Saturday morning? I'm wondering how long it will take to get from MCO to the hotel since I'm meeting the rest of my party there. They're driving in and we're trying to arrange a secret arrival since they kids don't know I'm coming! I'm flying in 5/23 @ 9:10 am. I've taken ME before but on a Monday morning. Thanks!
Your current tags should be fine...as long as you have the same resort reservation number. That is what is scanned into the bar code. If you simply changed resorts, no problem. But, if you had to cancel one whole reservation and make a new one, that would most likely mean a new reservation number..which in turn means the DME info will be incorrect. Not sure if this has been asked yet or not.... but we already received out ME packet and after that changed the resort we're staying at. Will they send new ones or do we use the ones they originally sent us?
