Well, first of all, I have put this in the DISNEYLAND section because for me the Disney weddings thread that seems to be all Florida isnt relevant for me. The information is different.
We are getting married on October 31, 2009 at 11:30 am at the Rose Court Garden behind the Disneyland Hotel. After the ceremony, and reception we will be going to the Mickeys Trick or Treat Party.
Our guests will asked not to dress up for the wedding but are invited to go to the Trick or Treat party after dressed up.
Okay , so , so far we have had 1 meeting with our WONDERFUL wedding planner. Her name is Traci Banister. She is awesome.
Our first official meeting was on April 28th.
We basically met and looked at cake pictures and linens. We chose a simple 3 tier cake that is round with Champagne color fondant to match my dress and red velvet cake inside.
We will do the tasting later.
The Linens for the tables are this really neat shiny greenish/tan irridesent color with viney filligre . I am going to put red rose petals all over the tables that will have little tea lamps in the center. Each guest will have a little chocolate shaped Mickey and Minnie heart , a small jack-o lantern full of candy and a New Orleans mask with feathers on it, it will be on Halloween after all.
After the meeting, and peeling Dfi off the floor when we saw the bottom line:scared1::laughing:, we walked to the Grand Californian Hotel, to find out to our surprise that Traci had comped us a room in said hotel for our Honey Moon night:woohoo:
Then we checked out the Brisa patio where the pre reception will be and the Trillium room where the reception will be. What a beautiful Hotel. OMG!
After that, we rode the Monorail into the park.
What a great day.
I met with our Photographer yesterday. Its Joe L. he is super sweet.
I am very very excited.
And for back story, last year we were supposed to get married and do all of this, but around the 6-8 month mark, we were in a head on collision that wiped out our wedding savings. So, we are finally able to do it. We dont have the budget we had last time so we had to cut lots of things. but I am just so very grateful that we get to do it at all.
So, that is the news for now.

Oh wow, that sounds AMAZING! I love all your details, right down to the feathered masks for the guests - what fun!! It sounds as if it will be beautiful, and how great that you'll get a night at the Grand Californian. My DH and I were just discussing what a gorgeous hotel it is....and we've only ever seen the outside!!
Speaking of photographers, I hope you plan on sharing some of your pics here with us. It sounds like it will be perfect!! :)

That does sound like so much fun! My DH and I got married at the grand floridian and they really do take care of you. The Disney wedding planners are amazing! They make you feel so special and it will truly be a day to remember. I am super excited for you!

I love LOVE red velvet cake! It is my favorite. And I think having a wedding on halloween sounds like soooo much fun! I am trying to get my little sister to do the same :) Please do keep us updated. I am sorry about your accident last year but thankfully you are able to marry this year. Just amazing :)

Woo Hoo!!!! that sounds amazing!!!! We are all invited right? LOL I know your ceremony and reception will be just gorgeous! :)

How exciting! I can't wait to hear more as it gets closer. :goodvibes

I'm glad they started this new board here in DL so threads like this have a place here. You are right, it doesn't make sense to post it in forum for WDW.

You guys are so RAD!! We are going to have White Chocolate heart Mickey and Minnie favors that are wrapped in clear celophane with a Burgundy ribbon. I dont have a pic but Ill get one.
We were going to have chocolate but then the thought of sticky chocolaty fingers on my dress freaked me out.
For the other favors we will have New Orleans Mardi Gras masks. Dfi is from New Orleans. Here is the link to what we have chosen:

We will also have little bubbles for when we are leaving.
We also decided to to ring each table with creme colored rose petals to match the table and my dress.
Thats all I have for now, more to come!

The more I hear the more amazing it sounds!! YAY!!!! I'm so glad you guys are able to do this, I'm so glad that the car accident wasn't that much more severe and all is well in your world. :)

I have a question...can you bring your own decorations, flowers etc or do you have to use their's?

Forgive me, I'm a dreamer and would love to renew our vows at our favorite place and just wondering if it's doable.

Your table clothes sound devine as well as the rest of your plans so far. A honeymoon suite!!!! How exciting.....love hearing about your plans.

Yup, I love those masks! Just think of the great group photos you can get if all the guests are in their masks....gives me goosebumps!

You know what you've done, don't you? You have created dozens of amateur wedding planners! LOL! My DH and I are celebrating our 10yr anniversary on Friday, and if I could possibly swing it I would LOVE to redo our vows at DL. Oh well, maybe for our 20 yr.....:lovestruc

First let me say that I am over joyed to share my plans with you all.

Next~
Yes, you can bring your own flowers and decor. it is much cheaper.
we will be doing that with the rose petals. But the little table lamps and the table cloths are theirs that were free to use. Pretty cool.

and arent those masks cute? I will def. be taking a few group shots of everyone wearing the masks.
There will not be an adults wearing costumes at the wedding but I wanted everyone to have a " costume" since it is on Halloween, I don't want people to feel like they are missing out.

Everything sounds so exciting! Earlier today, there was a special on TV about Disney weddings in WDW, but unfortunately I couldn't watch it all & my DM was like, "I don't care about WDW, I wanna see DL" lol. I'm hoping that I'll have a future DLR wedding, but first I still need to find a prince ;). Can't wait to see more updates!

How super exciting for you both!!!!! I always thought a Disney wedding would be amazing, and to get to do it on Halloween how fun! I am so glad that you are sharing the planning with us so we can all live vicarously through you :)

Off topic I was wondering do you know if they offer the option of doing showers at the hotel? I always wanted to do my wedding shower there, but with baby coming I thought I would take a second shot at that dream ;)

How fun - you'll love the Trillium Room - that was where we had our wedding reception - 12/23/2001! I was in the 1st year of GCH brides! We had the free room for our wedding night, too - it's the practice for the reception being there.

We also chose the same linens - those were the standard issue free ones - we couldn't believe it, as they were so nice - exactly what we wanted.

We chose to have FTW do everything and we chose Bob Ortiz off the list for our photographer and he was AMAZING!!!!! People still rave about our wedding album and the 4 other albums we made with our leftover prints!

You will not be disappointed with your cake, either. Ours was still good a year later!!! So moist!!!! We did buttercream for our main cake - raspberry and chocolate - with fresh flowers and then had a groom's cake with fondant and chocolate apricot (I think). It was done up as a Christmas ornament. Both were terrific.

We didn't do a pre-reception in the Brisa, but went out during our reception to take some photos there - beautiful. We had one where my husband picked me up and spun me around in the smaller swirled patio - halfway up the walk. Very sweet - the swirl of the bricks and my dress was great.

Also, have your photog play with the balconies. If you go to the 3rd floor one - it sticks out a bit from the 4th floor one. Send the photog up to 4 and have him shoot down onto you into the lobby. Really nice angles. There are also some intimate seating areas on the odd floors (or is it even) by the Storytellers evevators - these are nice for candids and cozy shots. I would also see if you can get photographed by the fireplace in the lobby, the outdoor one - you should still be able to get to it - and the old car out front.

Of course - don't forget photos by the waterfalls and the Koi Pond over at the DLH, too.

Is Reverend Sarah still on the list? She did our wedding. Amazing woman. Ian's mom died the day before we got married (it was expected - she had the end stages of breast CA) and she flawlessly whipped up a memorial speech for us with lighting a candle to remember our deceased parents.

Have so much fun planning!!!!

Your wedding will be legendary! I mean who will forget going to Mickey's Trick or Treat party? You will have 5 different dance floors versus the customary one! :cool1:

YellowMickeyPonchos! Your info is invaluable. I have made a list of the spots you mentioned.
Thank you so very much.
The hotel is just beautiful. We went over the other night just to walk around and see the Trillium room and the rest of the spots and we are just blown away. It feels like a lodge in Yosemite, I cant remember the name.
I am getting more and more excited.
Next is to go and get fabric for my dress. I am making it myself. Ill be back with swatches!
