DDP, two rooms, one (or two?) reservations?

Hi all.

I'm sure this has been asked before. We are going to POR for a long weekend in a couple of weeks. We have AP rates on two rooms. I am considering adding the DDP for the weekend for simplicity but need some help.

Room 1: My husband and daughter (13)
Room 2: Me, my sister, and her two babies (both under 3)

The only way we were able to get an AP rate on both rooms was for my husband and I each to hold one reservation (one for each room). So we have two separate confirmations. We are hoping for rooms close by, if not adjoining but realize it's not guarranteed. No biggie. We actually could have gone with one room at Riverside (since the kids are babies) but decided it was just too many people for one room.

-----How will the DDP be listed on each room key? Will it be "2A" since there are two adults in each room or "4A"?

It makes a difference since obviously we can't order more meals than are on the card.

----- Whether it's 2A or 4A, we may choose to order more than 4 meals at a QS at one time (since the kids won't have credits). If we wanted to (for example) is it possible to order 5 QS meals? Could we get back in line? Have my husband get 2, my sister get 2, and me get 1? How could we do that? I know we're only supposed to order at most 4, but we'll have extra meals since the trip is so short.

----- We have 3 TS meals - Crystal, Chef Mickey's, and Ohana (breakfast). I know the babies eat free at Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. Is that also true at Ohana since it's preplated?

Thanks for any help. If it's too complicated, I'll just bag the DDP and cash for the weekend (room charge).

Since they're under separate reservations, each room should be treated separately, so the cards should say 2A on them. Not really a problem, as you can use cards from both rooms to pay for a meal. For example: you, your husband, and your daughter go for a TS meal without your sister; your husband and daughter "pay" with one of their cards, you "pay" with yours. Not only "do-able", but working exactly as the plan is intended.

Technically, you can't order more CS meals than the cards indicate at one time. Some people have reported varying degrees of success here. Nevertheless, you should not be using plan credits to buy meals for non-covered persons.

All buffets and "all you care to eat" meals are free for children under 3, which includes 'Ohana as well.

I know what you mean about the non-covered persons. The idea would be to use an "extra" QS meal to split between the two little ones since they're not on the DDP (and you're right - not covered). Our thinking was (since we'll have some extra meals) that might be better than purchasing them a meal. They could (of course) eat off our plates. WDW meals are huge and it would be easy enough. Again, this is only for QS since we have the TS covered.

We could also use those extra meals for one last QS on the morning we leave so not a biggie.

Just things to ponder. Thanks for the help.
