Baby Friendly Table Service Restaurants

We are going to Disney in October and will be taking our 8 month old with us. While we both are both Disney Veterans, going with an infant is a new experience for us.

We wanted to her some feedback on what table service restaurants were more baby friendly... by that, I mean if she starts to cry, it won't be like a siren sounding off in the middle of people's dinner. Not that we'd let her continously cry, of course (as that would be quite rude)... but there are some table service places where this would be more tolerable than others (for example, 50's Prime Time Diner would be more tolerable to this scenario than a Jiko or Victoria and Alberts (yes I know kids under 12 can't go to V and A).

What are people's experiences with infants at Disney Restaurants... both your own and as guests. We'd like to enjoy some of the restaurants, but don't want to ruin other people's time either. Would prefer to pass on the buffets (Family style like Ohana is fine though) as they are not our favorites.

I may be a little biased, having gone with toddlers who tend to draw some attention to themselves... but I'd say pretty much any of the non-signature restaurants (except for CRT) are baby-friendly. There may be a few "upscale" non-signatures, like Le Cellier, Le Chefs de France, or Tutto Italia that may not be great ideas. Dinner shows, we found out the hard way, can also be a problem with a fussy child.

My DD is currently 19 months, and since we live here, she has been to tons of Disney restaurants since she was an infant (ok, not tons, we stick with a few of our favorites!). I would take her anywhere, except to the Signature restaurants. I know children are allowed, and there are people that take their children/babies, but IMHO, that's just not a child-friendly environment. Plus if I want to go to a Signature, I'd enjoy it more baby-free. Some of the places we have taken her are Le Cellier, Chefs de France, Whispering Canyon, Kona, Flying Fish, and Artist Point. Artist Point is Signature, but it was for my birthday, and I was actually very very impressed with the staff at Artist Point and how they went out of their way to help entertain my DD (who was 15 months at the time).

It's kids under 10, not 12, that aren't permitted in Victoria & Alberts. Not that it matters with an infant.

Thanks for the correction... Either way, we will NOT be going to V and A this trip unfortunately. Don't feel like spending $300 plus for the meal and $80 plus for the baby sitting.

We took our infant daughter to California Grill and she did great. She was not quite ready for a high chair, and it was no problem to bring the stroller to the table.

The atmosphere is not so loud that it would (likely) irritate the baby, and not so quiet that if the baby starts to cry that everyone would turn around to see where the noise was coming from.

Flying Fish was pretty much like Le Cellier or Les Chefs. We only went once (for my birthday right after Christmas), but there were definitely other children there. I remember my DD playing with one girl as we were waiting to be seated, and a family with children was seated next to us towards the end of our meal.

That's good to know. We are toying with the idea of doing a baby sitter one night. Just not sure if I want to pay that much.

We did Brown Derby for lunch with our DD when she was 4 months old. Worked out great. In general, we have always gone everywhere with her. She's always great at restaurants, even the signatures.
