OFFICIAL December 2009!! Celebrating the Holidays.. ADR list page 41 :)

We booked ours in February. We'll be there November 29 - December 5. We're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I'm still debating whether or not we're going to do MVMCP.

Nov. 30 - Dec. 12 WL My daughter's first trip. She will be turning 4 Dec. 2. I'm so excited.

Hi! We're going to be at the WL from November 30-December 7. Our first trip ever, and my DD is turning 3 on December 6. princess:

Hi mrsksomeday,

I see your avatar. Are you blessed with someone with autism? My son is autistic he will be three in July. Happy Autism Awareness Month! :)

My DBF has worked at a summer camp for persons with disabilities, he has Cerebral Palsy and is in a motorized wheelchair. I worked with him one summer and lost my heart to two boys with Autism. Also, I am friends with people here on the boards that have boys with autism. I wanted to help with awareness :goodvibes.

Well, I'm gonna jump :offtopic: with you for just a moment and brag. My cousin (7) that has Autism won both of his events at the Special Olympics today, just as he did last year and I am so very proud of him :cheer2: I wanted to be there for him this year, but I had his aunt at the doctor for f/u on her broken are and we didn't make it back in time, but I am gonna make a big deal of it tomorrow at his sister's birthday party.

mrsksomeday, would you mind if I copied and pasted your avatar in my signature, I have wanted to have something like that and didn't know where to find it?

Hi...I am so excited to have found this board. There is a wealth of information at our fingers here. We have booked our first ever WDW vacation for 12/29/2009-1/9/2010. Woo Hoo :goodvibes for us.

My problem is deciding on which resort to stay at. We have a family of 5 which further limits our options.

Right now, we are booked into POR Riverside, will have to stay at Alligator Bayou due to our families size. I love the look of the grounds and the pool (hoping for some downtime to relax) and the boat to DTD. But the room is just kind of bleh.

Another option is to "downgrade" for an additional $700.00 because we are going at Christmas to a family suite at All-Star Musical. The rooms looks adequate, the size, 2nd bathroom and the kitchenette is fabulous, but the grounds are just tacky IMO.

I am a teachers aide so I am looking into the Swan/Dolphin, but they haven't released rates yet for January. Pro's and Con's of this non-Disney property?

Am I just being a snob? I should mention that it is our first EVER vacation with just my husband and the kids, we will be celebrating 2 birthdays and an upcoming high school graduation on the trip, so I want it to be perfect.

I am hoping they will have some kind of a special for the time after New Years since everyone says that is kind of slow. Do you think that might happen?

I haven't been able to find info as to if the Disney Water Parks will actually be open this time of year. I'm thinking no, but would like to know for sure before I buy my tickets without the water park option.

Any and all opinions, insight and experiences are appreciated. Thanks!

The SwanDolphin is awesome for its location. You can walk/boat to Epcot, take a boat to DHS, walk the boardwalk and enjoy the action and restaurants there. Very nice hotels. I think only one of the two hotels allows five to a room, though.

I'm also an assistant at my school and the teacher rate is great! We'll be enjoying the Dolphin for a second time Dec. 27-Jan.2. :)

POR ahs very small rooms for 5 people. Dh and I stayed there last month and while it was fine for us, except for the tiny full size bed, it would really be cramped with 5 people in it. Dh and I had to sleep in seperate beds because the full size was tiny and we used to have a full sze bed at home.

I WOULD recommend the ASMusic Family Suite for the amount of room and having 2 bathrooms, that alone can be a huge plus. It also has a queen bed. The grounds really aren't that bad, especially if you have young children, plus you can use the pools at all 3 resorts. We were going to stay there for our Sept trip, but just being the 2 of us on that trip (the rest of our group cancelled on us), we downgraded to POFQ.

There are also the Ft Wilderness Cabins, they are capable of holding 6. There is a full size bed and a set of bunkbeds in the bedroom and a pull down Murphy bed in the living room, 1 bathroom, a fully furnished kitchen, living room, and a deck with a gill and picnic table.

Only 1 of the waterparks is open that time of year, the other one is under Rehab then.

If there are any specials they wouldn't begin until at least probably Jan 2 and beyond.

We'll be at Pop Dec 12-19, and I can't wait! :dance3: We have two rooms, as both of my parents are coming. It should be interesting, as my parents have been separated for three years !

Now that will be very interesting!! Just remind them that they are in the "Happiest Place on Earth" and there is no arguing in Disney :lmao:.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will behave and have fun with the kids...and have the sense to know when they should stay away from each other! :rotfl:
