@ lucky - good to see you are there. Tell me...you said that you guys got in very late - it looks like after midnight. How was the staff? We will be there in 12 days, but it will be the same situation - by the time we get to the hotel, it will be well after midnight. Just wondering how check in went and how the night staff was.

Have a wonderful vacation! After waiting for 4 long Winter months, I can say that I am MORE than ready for this trip!

:woohoo:

Greetings from POFQ!!! We arrived on 4/22 (although technically it was already 4/23 it was so late).

Yesterday we visited Hollywood Studio's and then in the evening we went to POR and saw Yeeha Bob the piano player. He was so much fun as usual!!!

Today we went to the Magic Kingdom, then came back for a nice afternoon break. We headed back to the Magic Kingdom and had dinner at Crystal Palace and did a bunch of rides (with FastPasses we obtained this morning). Came back to the resort around 9 and the kids went in the pool. :scared1: Finally got everyone settled down a bit ago.

Tomorrow is an 8am reservation at O'Hana's for breakfast. Then we're heading to the Animal Kingdom, then back to the hotel for a break, then we're heading to DTD to see Cirque! WE CAN'T WAIT!!!

Let me know if you have any questions! We're here until 4/28!!!

How is the weather & temp?? What building are you in & did you request a certain blg??

Of course we all want to know about your room! :) Which bldg, floor, is it in good condition? Have you seen Elliot Dyson yet? We enjoy him so much. :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to post...have a Magical time with the Mouse!! :goodvibes

Sorry if these have been asked before, but I have a couple of questions (we'll be at POFQ 3 weeks today for the first time - our first family trip to WDW). I know it probably varies, from the time of the day, to the day, to the month etc - but approximately how long does it take to the 4 parks on the buses ? Also - how deep is the water in the pool at the bottom of the slide ? Thanks !!:)

Are the buses at POFQ currently being shared with POR? If yes, is POFQ being picked up and dropped off first?

I will be arriving at POFQ right after you on May 2nd.

I think it all depends on the time of day and the crowd level. On Thursday we went to Studio's and we were picked up first then picked up at all the bus stops at POR. On the way home we had our own bus.

Yesterday we went to MK and we went directly from POFQ to the park. On the way home it was a dedicated bus.

So I'm not sure if there is any set schedule or not, seems to vary a bit.

Regardless, we've never waited very long for a bus (no more than 10 min.) either going to the park or coming back.

Enjoy your stay!!! We are loving the resort. :lovestruc

As for the pool, the pool runs from 3 feet to a little over 4 feet for the whole pool. At the slide I think it is only about 3 feet where it drops you. The slide is not a fast slide and was perfect for my DS3. Just as long as you caught him before he went under!

We only used the bus for our last day to MK and that only took about 10-15mins. Not sure about the other locations, but for us driving ourselves the furthest place was AK and that only took about 15 minutes.

Yup, we arrived at the resort around 1am. It was empty in the lobby and the check in area. They had a bell on the desk and we rang the bell for "service" and a CM came right out. We were checked into our room within 15 minutes. No problems at all.

We also had taken the Magical Express bus from the airport. I was a bit weary taking it that late at night but we had no problems at all.

Enjoy your trip - let me know if you have any other questions! :wizard:

We re flying out next sunday & will be staying at the POFQ for the first time to celebrate our Disney wedding/Honeymoon :woohoo:

We normally fax the resort with room requests before we leave & in previous attempts in doing so have a few times been lucky to have them met However we no very little about this resort to have an idea wheres a nice quite location :confused3 .

Can any one give us some recommendations?

We ve booked a standard view room, we would love a fairly quite location with a nice view. Would like one on a high up floor rather than ground floor

Any help would greatly be appreciated :goodvibes

How is the weather & temp?? What building are you in & did you request a certain blg??

The weather has been absolutely perfect! Somewhere between 85-87 degrees for a high. :flower3: The mornings and evenings are beautiful. Yesterday there was a nice breeze so it didn’t feel very hot. We are in building 4 – in the back of the bldg near the parking lot. I had requested connecting rooms in bldg 5 or 2 and also had on my request (closest to food court/main building). When we checked in and I was told we had adjoining rooms in bldg 4. I asked to change to another room where we could have connecting rooms and there were none available. But that is not surprising since it was 1am! The room location is fine – it’s close to food court and very close to busses. We are in the back of the building near the parking lot and there is a service area not too far from our room. I have heard some noise from that maybe 3 times so not too bad. It’s not the best location we’ve had…but not the worst either!!!!

We haven’t seen Elliot yet and not sure if we will. We walked down to POR the other night to see Bob Jackson…who we loved! What a great show! I would recommend anyone having the opportunity to see him during their stay do so.

We are in Bldg. 4 on the ground level in the back near the parking lot. The room condition is fine – no signs of wear and tear. The only complaint is that when we arrived the shelf in the sink area over the ironing board was full of dust. But that’s the only issue I saw. Mousekeeping has been here every day and has done a great job (with what she has to work with…this room is a mess!!!). Beds are VERY comfy as are the pillows. So overall everything is great!!!

The longest trip so far has been to the Animal Kingdom. I think it took about 20 minutes. So far we’ve been to Disney Studio’s and Magic Kingdom. Both took about 10 minutes or so. Not bad!

Not sure about the pool depth by the slide, I'll check this morning for you!

What building are you in?

We are in building 4 in the back facing the parking lot. Not the best view, but we’re pretty close to the food court and the busses! That’s what’s important to us!

We're heading out to the food court now to fill up our mugs then heading to Boma for breakfast.

Then we'll be hanging around the resort and heading to DTD for a bit. Having dinner at O'Hana's tonight and then heading to MK for EMH. We'll see how late we last... ;)

Keep the questions coming!!!

Couple more questions :) Another pool one - do they have life vests or similar available for the kids to use ? Or are you allowed to bring your own ? I would love for my son to be in the pool without needing me to hold him up - that gets to be hard work after a while :) In our local pools, nothing is allowed - drives me crazy !!
Also - I heard a tip to use an over the door shoe holder in the bathrooms to keep toiletries etc, as the pedestal sinks obviously don't have much space on them - but I just saw a photo of the sinks, with a curtain in front of them. I presume there's a door there somewhere, too ? I have to go looking for photos - I know I've seen them, just can't remember exactly how the bathrooms are laid out :)
Thanks so much !!!!! You'll probably be hearing alot from me as our May 16th vacation gets closer ! :yay:

I know they have things at the pool for little ones. I'll check for you before I leave. I can also ask for you if he bring his own flotation device...I'm thinking I saw a sign that said "approved swimming aids allowed". :thumbsup2

I brought an over the door hanging shoe rack to use - but it was too long and didn't stay on the pole. It's made to go over the top of a door (square edges) but the pole is round so it wouldn't stay on. I think I would need a different kind. So just be aware...

There is a shelf over the pole that holds plenty of items. That's what we're using for our things.

We're heading to O'Hana's for dinner tonight. Leaving in about 5 minutes. Then we're heading to MK for EMH. Hope the crowds are thinned out... :scared1:

Yes they do have life jackets at the pool, however, they are not that good. My DD5 kept slipping out of hers. BUT.... go over to the marina at POR and ask for one of their jackets. They will just ask for your room number and you can use them the whole length of your stay. They are good to use at the waterparks too. Just make sure you return them or they charge $45 back to your room. But they are great jackets!!! :yay:

We actually found this by accident as the pool at the FQ was closed one day and we took the boat over to Riverside. As we were looking for some life jackets they pointed us to the marina.
