Hi guys!

I'm pretty excited about Earth coming out tomorrow and even more so since Disney has said that for every person watching the movie on opening day, they are going to plant a tree. I just like the whole idea of it, not to mention the trailers for the movie. I really want to watch it tomorrow, but I will be at work :( Anyone going to go?

tomorrow? I knew it was soon, but the commercials in my area never have the date! It was frustrating...

...haha! A commerical just came on and said "this wednesday..." :rolleyes1

I definitely want to see it, but I won't get to till the weekend. I can't wait!

I knowww!!

I'm hoping there's a good turnout tomorrow though so that Disney plants a bunch of trees!

If it is good, I will wait to watch on blu ray. Nature things look really good in it. The Planet Earth series is amazing!

They are planting a tree for every person who buys a ticket opening week. So even if you don't get there tomorrow you can still have a tree planted for you. :) I want to see it, so do the kids, maybe we will try this weekend when we visiting DL but probably not.....

Oh really? All week? I was under the impression that its just opening day. If thats so, I'm sooo watching it on Thursday.

All the signs at our theater say opening week, not opening day. :)

A lot of trees indeed! I read that they already plan to plant at least 500,000 trees. I hope that number keeps climbing - what more incentive could you need to see the film this week??

I caught an afternoon showing today and I was totally blown away. The message was both subtle and incredibly inspiring, not to mention that Earth was by far the most visually stunning film I have ever seen in the theater- awesome.

Read an outstanding review recently as well - just in case you need anymore reason to see the film ;)

A gorgeously shot continuation of the big-screen nature movies started by the studio in the 1940s, this new film — the debut feature of the DisneyNature division, which plans to release a green-friendly title every year — is perfect for families, especially those with young movie fans who want to help avoid a "Wall-E" type of future.

Just got back from seeing it and I also was blown away. Also loved the little intro they did with the preview of Oceans, which will be coming on Earth Day next year. The theater I was at had a whole group of preschoolers and it was awesome to watch it with them.

Everyone must go see it!!!

Okay, guys. I hadn't even heard of this movie before, but after reading your comments I want to go see it! :flower:

I read a review that indicated that it used a lot of sequences from BBC's Planet Earth series.

I read a review that indicated that it used a lot of sequences from BBC's Planet Earth series.

It was co-produced by BBC, and was shot at the same time. Yes it uses a lot of the same footage, but it's meant to tell a different story for a different audience. Not to mention it was made for the big screen where as Planet Earth was made for your television.

It's a definite must see if you ask me. I loved Planet Earth, and I loved this just as much. Not to mention the narration by James Earl Jones is just :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I saw it today with DS7 and DS4. I thought it was fantastic :thumbsup2. My 7-year-old really enjoyed it, has lots of questions, and is fascinated by the 'circle of life.' I think the 4-year-old was a little too young to appreciate it. He doesn't get the circle of life idea at all yet, but informed everyone in the audience that he "hates the 'insert name of predator here'" a few times.:rotfl2:

Jas, we ate at the mall yesterday and on our way out we saw a sign for Earth. It definitely said opening WEEK for the tree planting and again we talked about taking a break to see this while at DL this weekend. Not sure yet but we are considering it....:)

I loved Planet Earth, that was such an AMAZING series....I want to buy it for DBF for Christmas this year. It was that good. :)
