Driving to the parks?

I've seen a few people say they drive to the parks even if they are staying on site. May will be my third trip with a car and I have never even considered driving to one of the parks.

I'll be at the GF so MK isn't a problem. I've seen the monorail trip to Epcot is almost 45 min, although the return trip is about 1/2 that.

I'm not going to the water parks, but are some parks better to drive to then others? How much time does it save, if any, over taking the bus?

Hey, fellow Delawarean! We've stayed onsite about 1/3 of the times we've gone & had a car everytime. To me it's a matter of freedom (although it IS quicker)... We just prefer to have the flexibility of coming & going when we please, no crowded buses, direct routes if we want to go resort to resort and we are not tied to getting eating onsite.. while onsite dining is nice, for EVERY meal it can get expensive.. not to mention if you want to get a six pack or bottle of wine!!
