For those who purchased at Grand Firsts Event in Disneyland

I was pleasantly surprised this week when I went to book my incentive stays at GCH and the Concierge Collection choice of either SFO Fairmont or Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego.

When I talked to MS about the GCH 3 night stay they asked for my dates and asked which view I wanted. They said I could have any view as all were included in the promotion. The only thing not included was concierge. So of course I booked a DCA or pool view for September which was worth 123 points.

Next I asked about booking the 2 night Concierge Collection incentive and was transferred to a different MS agent. I chose the Fairmont in SFO as we live only a couple of hours from there and really wanted to take in a SF Giants game. So I was able to book that for a stay in May and was told that we would be in a Deluxe room and there would be NO $95 fee as this stay was complimentary. I was very pleased with how this worked out and found that this stay would have been a total of 88 points.

Now I know the 7 night RCI voucher may not end up being such a great deal but we'll see what happens with that over the next 18 months.

I chose WDW ap's for the ap incentive and figure those are worth about $800. I had the option to rewrite my contracts 200 pts. (4 x 50 pts.) with the new offers that came out the 1st. I figured it all out on paper. We knew the cruise dates would not work for us so that was out. The $16 off per point seemed good on paper but we would have no points to use until October and the other trips we received and the ap's were very enticing. So we received the above in addition to $7 per point off.

So I feel happy about the decision and feel it was worth attending the event. Make sure you ask for the best view available when you call to book your incentive stays. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I was there at the Disneyland event too! I also got everything you did including the WDW AP, the one exception we choose Hotel Del Coronado.

I was wondering about the the new incentives too, so I had to research them; but we are happy with the incentives we received too. But how did you make reservations already for your SF stay? Did you receive something(paper) in order to reserve a room?

Thanks for the information on the Grand Californian rooms! Our stay is coming up and I did not know the view rooms are included!

I was at the event, but haven't received any paperwork yet. Is anyone else still waiting for their FedEx package?

I did not receive any voucher or anything to book the Concierge Collection stay. When I talked to MS they said that all of the incentives were listed in my account. She said that the for the RCI stay I would receive a voucher. And the AP's would be vouchers coming in the mail after closing. She said I could book the GCH stay and the Fairmont/Hotel Del Coronado right then. I haven't received my paperwork yet either. You might check with MS if you call to reserve the Hotel Del Coronado stay and see what view they have you in for your GCH stay. I would make sure you are getting the best available view. :goodvibes

We added that Saturday night, 125 points. No paperwork yet, but the credit card down payment went through and the points are showing up on the website.

We took the cruise since we can use one for our family of four, which equals about 200+ points. I valued the GCH nights at what we can start getting DVC in December, thus 75 points for three nights, so it was an easy decision.

Also scored June use year which gave us 2009 points, those felt like a bonus as our first vacation isn't until next June, 2010.:)

How did you find out about that event? We want to add-on, and it seems you guys who purchased at Grand Firsts got better incentive than the general DVC public. TIA!

The new incentives are actually better with an additional $3.00 per point off for my level of 125 points. I was able to get Disney to send me a gift card for the difference so that we didn't need to rework the contract.

I don't know about existing DVC members, but we non-Member residents of Southern California got a flyer about it in the mail.

I did a mini trip report about it with a list of all the incentives here:
