 Hi All!!! I'm back again! :cool1:

I'm starting a PTR for my next Disney Adventure. This is my first surprise trip and because of that, it's the one I'm most excited about! We are surprising DD with a 5 day trip in October for her 6th bday. She is starting school this year and since we normally travel to Disney at the beginning of Sept, she has been told that we can't pull her out of school to go.

My biggest worry right now is HOW I am going to pull it off. You see, I'm a member of the Disboutiqers and it's really hard to hide custom clothes from your child...especially customs that need to be tried on and are CLEARLY Disney-oriented. But I'm going to try!

Our plan right now is to pick up at school on Oct 23rd and take the evening flight out of Boston. Her bday is the 24th. MNSSHP is scheduled for the 25th! The rest needs to be planned! I just can't wait!

If you are a new reader, I probably should introduce myself

 Hi, I'm Kristine. I'm a 32 year old wife/mommy/social worker/scrapbooker/sewer from Boston!

This is DD's beloved Puppy. He comes EVERYWHERE with us and this trip I'm sure won't be an exception...so I better introduce him

SOOOO, as you can see...he's as Disney loving as the rest of us!

Subbing to your PTR. Love all your pictures, what a sweet little girl, love the baby pics of your lil' pumpkin. I gotta ask about your ghost pic, what was your husband dressed up as, a tourist. :rotfl2:

:welcome: Thanks!

My DH was just wearing a MNSSHP tshirt I made for him. It was way too hot for him to wear anything fun. He had a Red Sox hat on so a lot of people asked if he was going as Kevin Youkilis (who is a player on the Sox). Here's a pic of him

Do you love how he's wearing my Bagallinni because it didn't "go" with my costume :rotfl2:

Okay, even I would splurge $25 for that cake. I know it is really small but I think you are right that a big one is not necessary. I want a volcano thing from TRex after seeing Jeanne's TR.

Okay, so I promised myself no more PTRs... but then I clicked on yours... and I saw you are a social worker (I'm going to school for social work and early childhood education:goodvibes)... and then I noticed your adorable daughter... and then you got me with all those cakes....

Oh well, what's one more thread to keep up with?:rotfl:

I'm thinking of getting my DM a birthday cake for our trip (her 50th birthday) but I can't decide where to order it from yet. Last year for her birthday I ordered chocolate tuxedo strawberries from the GF and they were awesome!popcorn:: The Disney cake service does a great job.

How did I not know about this report yet? Can't say I'm surprised to see you starting it. I was wondering how long you could hold off.

Speaking of cakes-I vote for the castle one too. I secretly wish that Dh would order one for me as a surprise. I've already spoken to my TA about my cake preferences should he call. I'm hoping he does. I keep leaving the TA's number out for him.

I love the Diabetes on a plate remark. Too funny!:rotfl2:

Those cakes are so awesome!! I have some thinking to do! :rolleyes1

Oh and in regards to Diamond about her husband ordering her a cake....I sent an email to my DH with the phone number and a picture of what I wanted for my birthday with the subject line "For My Birthday". ;):lmao::rotfl2:

As you've requested....

Isn't it so cute?!?!

Here's the cake I got at 1900 Park Fare. (and an awful picture of me). Honestly, we couldn't finish it. :rotfl: I got the chocolate cake and it was sooooo good. We passed it around our table and my sister's so 10 of us had a bite. It was really rich. :cloud9: One of my kids ate the castle, Jayden I think.

Oh those cakes look YUMMY!!! I want one for my birthday!

Me too...think they would ship one to Boston ;)

The volcano thing did look tempting as well. But clearly too big for a family for 3.

:welcome: Thanks for giving in to a little temptation ;)

Good luck in school!

The cake thread has the number for all the individual bakeries to order something. There are some really cool cakes out there!

Do you want me to send a message to your DH and tell him to get going??? :rotfl:

Jeanne, you are so silly! You look so cute in that picture! Luke looks just like you.

Thanks for jumping ahead on your TR to show us this! You look great Bday Girl!!!

Okay, just one more...mmm...chocolate...

DSCN4057-1.jpg

OOOH yummy. That does look great. Did you order from the cake line or from 1900 PF directly?

Wow! That looks REALLY yummy!

2nd that! :thumbsup2

I think I called 1900 Park Fare directly, about 2 weeks in advance, and when I got there they were like "oh, I don't know if we'll be able to have that ready in time" :scared1: apparently it was frozen? They managed to thaw one out in time but the communication was REALLY lacking. I would call in again the morning of to make sure they don't mess up.

Mmmmmmmm cake!!

AND since I'm hoping to skip the ACTUAL castle entirely this trip....maybe this would be a fun substitute??? :confused3
What do you mean you are going to skip the castle?! Isn't that like un-Disney like?! :rotfl2:

And if you figure out how to ship one of those cakes up to Boston let me know. I'm just a drive away :lmao:

Thanks for the tip! If I pay $25 for a really small cake, I want it DEFROSTED!!!

I really am done with paying $120 for the 3 of us to have eggs at the castle. We've done it a bunch of times and I'm hoping to avoid it all together this trip. But I certainly will GAZE at the castle, take 100 PICS of the castle, and watch fireworks from in FRONT of the castle!!!

I am with you on the castle. We haven't been since it became 2 credits. It was just never that great before. I miss the old days of disney. Not that the food was much better but you would walk up in the morning and get reservations for later on and the food and price was decent.

I have to agree. For these fun surprise trips, the whole make ADRs 90 days out thing doesn't work too well. I would love to go down there and say to Ash we can do whatever you want whenever you want. But you can't if you want to have a sit down meal at some point.

I read on different report that this same thing happened to another DISer! I think a follow-up confirmation call is an excellent idea! :thumbsup2

(Your son ate the chocolate castle by himself??)

Oh to have the stomach of a kid again!

Kathy

The inside of that cake looks delicious!!! Yummmmmm!!

What if we make a fake facebook quiz for you and we can ask Ash all of these questions? She was one of the little ones that answered the questions about her Mom, right? Heck, give me the questions and I will send it to you so it looks authentic! :thumbsup2
