I wanted to post a few pictures of the gift basket that we purchased from Shirley and her company in Cape Canaveral, the Perfect Gift.
She was wonderful to work with and was open to my suggestions and even added a few extra little surprises that were a hit with my 4 year old daughter.

If you are looking for something for your stateroom we have no reservations whatsoever in recommending her!!

What was waiting for her when we opened the stateroom door...

Thanks for sharing, mind me asking what price range this basket was?

Thanks!

No I don't mind... it was $60. but we used some of the "gift" money that friends and family gave Lauren... and it saved us packing space by having those bulky beach toys...."Arrive by Tinkerbell Express"...:thumbsup2 .

Shirley can really accomodate you for whatever your budget is.... this was a "medium" sand pail and it must be 10" across. Thank goodness we bought one of those DCL rolling bags to bring stuff home in!

One question, How did you get it home? I purchased the kit on CC but ended up leaving the brand new bucket and toys on the beach! Had no room to take it home! Seems kinda like a waste to me. They should have sand toy rentals!

So if Shirley sends the basket then the balloons are okay? That sure is not fair. "I love Shirley though, she is so helpful" but our ballons have been taken at port. They even showed me the "no balloons" rule. It is thought to be an endanger to marine life... I am just :confused3 We had one taken once and one cruise (a 4th of July one) they said during the celebration to the kids that they could not take them out of the atium because of the Marine Life Issue. Our last cruise I also saw another lady get hers taken at port as well :confused3 The basket is precious though.:thumbsup2

I am a little late in seeing this--sorry. I am wondering if your ballons were latex? I know generally mylar balloons are allowed in a lot of places that others are not as they are safer in many aspects. I am just curious as to whether that may be the difference:confused3

NO LAYTEX balloons are allowed on any of the ships due to the threat to wildlife, but mylars have never been a problem on DCL, RCCL or Carnival lines. I also was curious also since I haven't had any problems as of yet.
Talking about balloons, Norm and I were loading some balloons to take to a customer and has we got to the van, a hard wind came and swiped them out of our hands and there we stood watching this bunch of balloons reaching for the skies - it happened so fast that Norm nor I realized what happened until they were too far to even try to catch them. I stood there and watched them for the longest time, but also had a concern as to where they would land at. Anyhow if 6 mylars and 5 laytex balloons landed near you, they came from Norm and I with love :-)
Anyhow just wanted to share
EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT WEEK ---------BE SAFE AND BE HEALTHY and most of all
a week full of smiles.

Shirley--it is nice to see you post and the balloon story made me smile--sorry you lost them though:goodvibes

Glad to knwo that is the balloon issue (latex vs. mylar)--I thought as much.

I found the thread looking for threads on your because you have been on my mind. We do not sail again until December, but I am already working on a bucket/beach bag order for the kids in my head. We just moved to Germany 6 weeks ago and I am thinking I will want to order some custom things they cannot gethere and miss (like root beer;)) I figure I have several months to figure out what I want and how to not spend a small fortune on the phone ordering it from over seas:rolleyes1I am just thrilled that you are there and I know I can make the kids feel extra special and get them those funny things they miss like root beer, etc.

Shirley always does the best! I've been so happy anytime I used The Perfect Gift. :)

We bought my dd a mickey head balloon at Magic Kingdom and had it for days. The day we left for the cruise the "abrupt" man at the bus check in told her she couldn't take it on the bus or the ship and either had to get rid of it or deflate it. She cried her heart out over that.

My DD4 saw the picture of Shirley's gift basket with the balloon. Guess what balloon she wants!

I guess we might be calling Shirley prior to our cruise as we board on the same day as DDs birthday. (shhh! she doesn't know!)

EXACTLY what happened to us...... I paid $12 for that darn balloon too. They took it at the port..... It was a mylar balloon and they told us it was not allowed by the CM. I guess I never thought about deflating it. I guess if I had done that, then I could have just placed it in the bag, but it took us by surprise. That was a few years ago, but on our last two cruises, I also saw this happen to two other families. I felt so bad, because all of those feelings came back....

Shirley, the OP is actually a friend of mine and I am happy you did that for her special little girl. They really needed it to be special; but the ones that we had taken were Mylar. I guess you just "have the power." :confused3
