Mears shuttle from Universal area to Magic Kingdom?

So, I'm visiting Universal the 31st-April 5th with my friend for Spring Break. We're both College students so we are staying off-site, using our Super Bowl vouchers, etc. It's a value trip. We are saving some coin so we were thinking about heading to the Magic Kingdom one day during our trip. The only problem is transportation to the park.

We can take the Lynx bus service but that's a pain, I'm sure. It's kind of last resort. I don't really want to pay $40 for a cab, and I heard that Mears offers shuttles to the attractions. How does this work?

I am really interested if it is less than $20 or so round trip. Has anyone done this before, and if you did how did it go? Any help would be awesome.

you should contact mears.

they have a shuttle from the disney resort hotels that do a drop off at universal.
their round trip cost is $18 a person.

for that shuttle, the disney guests buy their tickets at the disney hotel they are staying the night before the use the mears shuttle.

i'm sure mears can give you information since you want the shuttle but in reverse of the system i am aware of.

I rented a car from Dollar for about $25/day. Use code OOAG. There is a Dollar Rental place at the Holiday Inn on International Drive about 1.5 miles from US/IOA. Keep in mind that you will also have to pay to park at WDW and for the gas. Total cost will run you about $40 for the day if you walk to the Holiday Inn and back. If you take a cab add another $10 on to that.

Have you checked to see if your hotel offers Disney transport. A lot of the off site hotels arrange this for a couple of dollars.

the op said they were students on spring break.
you need to be 25 for car rentals with the main companies.

I missed that! Drivers under 25 are required to pay an additional $25/day (just checked my paperwork). That would make it more expensive than the Mears Shuttle.

One last question... How would the pickup at Disney to take us back to our hotel work? Is it at the Ticket Center? MK Gates? Etc.

Reason I'm asking is we were thinking about checking out Downtown Disney after possibly and don't want to miss our ride home.

You may be able to arrange for a pickup at Downtown Disney with Mears - try giving them a call.

the way it has been set up for disney guests is they do the pick up and drop off at the hotel you are staying at.

you could do the drop off at the saratoga springs resort which is a short walk to dtd.

call them and ask.

you have to book the mears shuttle the night before and pay for it.
you can request the times for the service both ways.
when you do this and pre pay, your seats are assigned meaning, you will have a seat on that shuttle.
you can call mears or have the lobby concierge set it up for you.
it is $18 for round trip transportation.
