How do we love Disney? Let me count the ways... (updated & completed 5/11)

Love all your pictures! Even the yellow ones!

Funny how you had all those conversations with the Fab 5! They never seem to want to talk to us! ;)

Seriously, it sounds like you had great character interaction - especially with Donald! Too funny!

You look nice in your contacts! :goodvibes

Sara

You know what, they were all really chatty. i guess i'm just used to people talking with their hands but i seem to communicate really well with people who are stuffed into huge costumes :confused3

You look cute in your pictures, I don't know what you are talking about!! It sounds like breakfast was fun! How was the food? We haven't done Chef Mickey's for breakfast in awhile so I don't really remember...but I will say this I bet it's no KONA! :rotfl: (I'm sorry I just had to say it!)

Well, coming on the heels of our dinner at Kona (did i mention we'd been there?), neither of us was especially hungry this morning, but the food WAS quite tasty. Again i had the Mickey waffles. i really enjoyed the bananas in strawberry sauce as well.

I LOVE the ears. And the pics all look great - looks like you were having a great time with all the characters. How did Jess like riding the monorail? We didn't get to go on it last trip....it's a definite MUST for the next time around!

i guess it comes from the fact that neither of us drive and we're used to taking buses all the time, and subways in Toronto and London, but neither of us really saw the Monorail as anything other than transportation... it was just kinda there. Prolly too bad since it IS quite neat when you think about it, but it was just a way to get around for us. Sorry!

Great update Sare! I love, love, love you ladies in the ears!!! Too cute!!! It seems like you really enjoyed Chef Mickey's! Can't wait to read more!

I think you look just fine without your glasses but I know what you mean. People were trying to get me to not wear my glasses on my Wedding Day but I thought I looked like a freak. :lmao: I don't even have contacts so it's glasses everyday for me!

You two look so cute in your Mickey/Minnie shirts and your Minnie ears! :cutie:

Thanks, i loved the ears too. Although all the attention from people staring at them was kind of weird, i was glad i was wearing my :cool2: most of the day!

Awwww, thanks :goodvibes that was the only day we wore matching shirts, i liked how they looked together too.

Oh my gosh if you didn't even have contacts you'd have been walking around not able to see..... NOT a good plan in a wedding dress!!!!! That's the one day you really need to be able to see where you're going, i don't care how supportive your bridesmaids are lol!

i've worn glasses for about 15 years now and i just don't recognise myself without them. i always think i look weird :confused3 i think what i really don't like about those pictures though is the lack of hair around my face. i wish i'd had my bangs trimmed before we went. Oh well.

More great pictures.
I too love the ears.
The shirts are awesome and I love the way they seemed to be looking at each other in the picture almost like you planned it.

You definetly have a way with large stuffed costumed charactors. I guess that is why we get along so well.:confused3

Has Jesse come down from her Disney high? She truly looks so happy in all the pictures. And of course so do you.

Are you still feeling okay?

Hehe ! Those ears look way cuter on you than me! I felt like an idiot walking around in them too but by the end of the trip I said to heck with it!

I first saw them on a lady on a bus from Pop and thought she had made little buns of hair on her own, Princess Leia style and added her own bows! :lmao: Thankfully I thought to ask the CM when I bought Jack-Jack's Mickey ears (spoiling my own TR here!) if they sold them and she showed me where they were!

I'm glad you got the ears, even if we couldn't be in the same pic together!

Chef Mickey's looks like fun! I may have to add it for our next trip with the boys!

Yeah, we both kinda came crashing back to reality when we got home. The fact that it took us SO LONG to get home made the whole trip kind of seem like a dream by the time we were home in our own beds.

i am feeling fine but seem to have come down with tonsillitis or something, my throat is sore and my voice is completely gone! Thank goodness i've finally got a couple of days off!

um... planned it? :rolleyes1 as in, like, made her switch places with me so they'd be facing the right ways? :rolleyes1 me? nahhhh :rolleyes1

They do not, we're twins remember! We're equally cute! Besides it was seeing them looking so cute on you that made me buy them!

Chef Mickey's was really fun, i recommend it!! i wanna come on the next trip with the boys!!!

We walked down Main Street, which at 11:15am was crowded, warm, and noisy, and into Tomorrowland.

We walked onto

which freaked Jess out, but i liked it. We finally got our very first FPs,:

While we were waiting we rode this...
DSC00280.jpg

a DIS must-do, and i have to confess that i, like so many DISers before me, fell in love. What a great, relaxing little ride. We took some pictures:

After TTA we went into another ride for which i apparently missed the ride sign , the Monsters, INC Laugh Floor. It was very funny, and we really enjoyed it. i did text in a joke that was not used, though i'm not really surprised, as although i think it's pretty funny, it's not really something kids would understand.

I've got this terrible disease, it's called rackets. At first they thought it was just rickets but then the Doctor said "hey, what's all the noise?!"

After Monsters INC we got to use our Buzz FPs:

DSC00302.jpg

It wasn't a terrific success. We both found the controls difficult, had trouble aiming, and found having to turn the car, distracting. i don't think either of our scores is particularly memorable:

All in all i was just left disappointed, hoping that TSM would be a LOT better.

Redneck Photopass:
DSC00310.jpg

(She looks either bored or confused, hard to say which!)

While on the TTA Jess had spotted what she wanted to try as the next ride. i agreed (somewhat reluctantly, though i hope we disguised that reluctance) and we were headed over that way when we were accosted by this guy:
DSC00312.jpg

He spoke to Jess, noticing her "1st trip" button. He asked her if she was having a good time, and she hesitantly said yes. She was pretty shocked that a garbage can was talking to her!!! Then he asked her if she would consent to have her picture taken with him, and she said "i guess so",
DSC00313.jpg

It was really funny. She was SO confused. i was laughing my head off trying to take pictures. So funny.

Finally we made our way over to J's choice of ride:

It was fun, though at one point i was too far ahead of her and pretty much stopped so i could get her picture:

We had requested to wait for the right-driving cars so i could say at least once in my life i'd driven on the right-hand side!

Leaving the Speedway we were both hot and getting tired. It was coming up on 1:30 and the part was getting crowded. i got a water for myself and a Mickey-on-a-stick for her and we sat in the shade, trying to decide what to do. Finally we decided that we would go back to the hotel for a swim and a rest, but first we would make one quick stop...

It sounds like a great first part of your day, Sare! I love the TTA pics and the Indy Speedway pics - very cute! :goodvibes

That is too funny about PUSH! I have never seen him, nor heard him, so the fact that HE found her...well, that's just fantastic! :rotfl:

I'm dying to know where you went next....popcorn:: popcorn::

Sara

I am not a big fan of Buzz either. I prefer TSM much better. :thumbsup2

I hear ya about the bangs. I had that issue when we went in September. I finally ended up pinning my bangs because they would be so freaking frizzy without me doing that! :lmao:

im really enjoying your trip report sare! cant wait to see how the rest of your days go! and im looking forward to seeing more yummy food 2!

Another great update Sare!!! I bet it was such a hoot to see Jess respond to PUSH...I still have yet to meet him, maybe on my next trip!!!!

Love that you rode the cars that is awesome!!!!! Can't wait to hear more!!

Thanks, i actually love that pic of myself from the TTA too, surprisingly. i just look really happy i guess :cloud9: (wonder why!).

Yup she was REALLY confused by PUSH. i hadn't even thought to warn her or mention that he hung around there, so when he first came up to her she was just stunned.

Please don't die to know... i'm off work for two days and i don't want to think about people dying :rotfl:

Yup i had much higher hopes for TSM after getting off of Buzz... have to wait 3 more trip days to find out how that went ;)

This was the only day i didn't straighten my bangs before we went out (i had brought the straightener with me thank goodness, and i usually either pinned them to the sides like on day 1 or just let them hang (enough hairspray and a long enough attack with the straightener and they'll stay any which way :rolleyes1). i might've have bothered the other days if i hadn't already seen this day's pics and not liked them.

Terrible to admit but i've still yet to have my hair done since i got back!

im really enjoying your trip report sare! cant wait to see how the rest of your days go! and im looking forward to seeing more yummy food 2!

Hey there, :welcome: and thanks for posting! i'm having the opposite problem of many TR writers and i'm having to TRY not to go TOO FAST!

Another great update Sare!!! I bet it was such a hoot to see Jess respond to PUSH...I still have yet to meet him, maybe on my next trip!!!!

Yeah it was really funny. i wasn't too into the Speedway but it was Jess' choice so we went. Not a coincidence that it was our last ride before we decided to take our midday break - the noise was skull-pounding!

Great update! Can't wait to hear your next stop.:goodvibes

Thanks! The next stop inspired a trip-long obsession.................

I can only imagine how tired you both were.

i am feeling fine but seem to have come down with tonsillitis or something, my throat is sore and my voice is completely gone! Thank goodness i've finally got a couple of days off!

You are over doing it take care of yourself..I am glad you at least have some time off....rest and get feeling better.

um... planned it? :rolleyes1 as in, like, made her switch places with me so they'd be facing the right ways? :rolleyes1 me? nahhhh :rolleyes1

How come I knew you had a hand in the way it looked:rolleyes1

Because you are a very smart woman!

i know i was overdoing it, i didn't have a choice. i'm resting now and got some antibiotics from the doctor. "miscellaneous throat infection"

I am enjoying your TR.

HiYa and :welcome: thanks for posting! i'm glad you're enjoying it - so am i :upsidedow

Great update Sare! The talking trash can is too funny...he is attracted to people wearing buttons I think. We discovered this on our last trip when he saw DF's Just Engaged Button, but he was confused and thought he was with my sister :rotfl: She set him straight quickly though!

Great pictures, can't wait for more!

We went to... Epcot! We came to pick up a certain valuable commodity:

Soarin' Fastpasses! i'm absolutely certain i took a picture of them, but it has apparently ceased to exist!

The return time was 6:33-7:33 which was just about perfect. We rode Spaceship Earth one more time
DSC00343.jpg

and then headed back to the hotel. Once there we went to the PoP food court for "lunch" (or whatever you call that awkward, latish afternoon meal) - i had pizza and apple slices, Jess had a meatball sub. We had gone to our room before lunch to get our mugs and we filled them up, using our drink credits to get juice for the morning.

When we went back to our room again to change into our swimsuits, Jess called my mum to tell her about the talking garbage can. We found out that my cousin Tyler, who is the same age as my brother and works in the same bakery, had an accident at work that tore his arm apart! He'd had to have emergency surgery! Yikes! (Trust me, you don't want to know how it happened). Luckily my brother wasn't there at the time because he faints at the mention of blood.

Anyway after that sobering news we headed down to the pool. It was quite warm out this day but the water just didn't feel very warm, and our swim became more of a dip. We didn't even get our hair wet. Actually while shivering in the water i came up with an anaolgy that i'm not sure i should share or not, but what the heck. Swimming while trying not to get your hair wet is like sex without an orgasm... it's still fun and worth doing, but you kind of feel like you're missing the point. So anyway we hurried back inside to shower. While Jess was in the shower, to distract myself from shivering, i tried once again to get my internet connection up and running. It still didn't work, obviously. i uploaded the day's pictures instead.

Once dressed, we headed back to Epcot. It was just getting dark, and we had our picture taken in front of SE again. We went straught to the Land, but it wasn't quite time yet.

To use up a few minutes, we hop onto Living With the Land. This is one of the many times on this trip where i was tempted to either give a parent a piece of my mind or strangle their kids. Possibly both. Now please don't jump to the wrong conclusion, i love kids. However i do not like someone's kids bouncing off the back of my seat, climbing all over the place, pulling my hair and hitting me, all the while screeching and hollering enough that i can't hear the guide voice that's really quite loud, without a single word from their father. Not a "sit down please" or a "be quiet please" or even an "excuse my kids they've just had two Kona cones apiece and can't help themselves". NOT ONE WORD.

Ugh.

Anyway, after that we could finally use our Soarin' FPs.
DSC00336.jpg

i was super excited. This is one of the rides i had MOST looked forward to (along with Expedition Everest and Toy Story Mania), and i couldn't wait. i was bouncing up and down as we made our way down the concourse.
DSC00362.jpg

Finally it was our turn. We were in the farthest right section, in the third row. Not great seats but...

Wow. Wowowowowowowowowow. It was AMAZING! As we came off we were both giddy and jumping up and down. We couldn't believe how awesome it was and despite the posted 80 min wait time, debated getting right straight back on (the FPs were gone for the day). However, common sense won out and we reluctantly left the Land in search of something i'd promised a long time ago...

Things i love about Disney #4: SOARIN'! Possibly the best ride EVER and one of the coolest experiences of my life. SO great!

:sad2: It amazes me how some parents don't seem to notice their children. I'm a substitute teacher, and even when I'm not subbing I'm helping out at the school, so telling kids to hush it up comes naturally to me ;) (sometimes it comes TOO easily!!:confused3 ) ...and I'm afraid I would have told the child to settle down, parent or no parent, especially after hair pulling. Hate that you had that experience!

I can NOT wait to try Soarin'. It's one of the first things that made it to my mental list of 'must-do-next-times'. So glad you and Jess got to enjoy it! :goodvibes
