Peak Season Stays... More, Or Less of a Value?

I'm just wondering here. We love traveling during March, the weather is just awesome. Its actually cool in the evenings and not sauna steamy. But During the off-season, we use significantly less points a night. HOWEVER, even though we save points per year, its not really a true savings since we just book the remaining points toward the next year, and even then, there is a good chance we wont be needing those banked points. Also, you really notice a real savings off DVC compared to CRO cash reservation in peak season.

I guess at the end though it comes down to enjoying your vacation at the time you want it. On the plus side, the points reallocation for 2010 will actually save us 1 point on a week stay during March at AKV.:thumbsup2

If you are able to actually bank points, that is a savings - IMHO, as opposed to having to borrow to pull off the time of year you want to go.

We've been in a borrowing state since day one. This coming year, I may actually be able to use just whats coming available on 10/1/09 (156 pts that will be available as of that day...my use year, as opposed to the 285 I have), and NOT have to borrow any. I've got a November trip booked in a studio SV at AKV for three nights, and 5 nights in a two bedroom at BWV in January. That'll leave 4 points that I can bank for the first time since owning!

Have fun planning!

Now that you've saved the 4 points....don't go blowing it all in one place!!!
