Utility Trailer Parking

Hi there,

Staying at OKW 14-19 June, Have an SUV with 7 of us in it I have the ability to load down a roof top carrier, but also have cargo trailer which would be much easier to load and unload, does anyone know of any trailer parking? It does not have to be at OKW, anywhere in the "world" would work as I can lock it down. Thanks Alex

This is a GREAT question as I am facing EXACTLY the same situation for the first time in June. I had thought about it but just figured my trailer would get stolen and I'd be upset over that.

I sure don't want to deal with towing it around while I drive everywhere all week.

Someone's gotta have an answer to this. Surely someone has already been down this road before us.

I have seen trailers parked at Fort Wilderness parking lot and SSR. Also in a overflow lot at the MK. You might call the WDW switchboard and see what they say.

They had us park our utility trailer at POR when we stayed at OKW in Jan.
Wasn't too bad, we parked it in the back of the lot.

It depends upon the actual size of the trailer. Smaller trailers may be allowed to stay in a parking spot near your villa. Larger trailers will need to be parked at Port Orleans.

Thanks to all for the replies, I have a 8x 12 bri-mar, I really dont care where I park it, POR will work, I just didnt want to tow it and have to pay somewhere off site.

I'm really interested in how you're going to secure it. Short of putting a lock in the ball coupler and locking the doors (obviously), I hope you're planning on doing something else or don't you feel it necessary? I could take a $20 chain and have me a nice utility trailer. Not that I would under any circumstances but there are plenty of people that would.

Maybe I'm just too paranoid and over-cautious.

I have the coupler lock, not overly worried about it, maybe I will bring my sunbear trailer which is butt ugly... I just like pulling my brimar better, I guess I could run some locking cables through the wheels, but if someone needs one bad enough to have to steal it, then oh well, I will report it, then either claim it, or write it off.

Yea. It ain't eastern NC either. That's what worries me too. I'm sure they would be OK but I'm just not sure I want to take the chance. Maybe I'll talk to security at the resort and see what they say.

I thought about the rooftop thing but I'd have to buy a nice carrier. The trailer I already got. LOL

To OP I love using Microsoft virtual maps so I did a bird's eye view of OKW and at the end of Peninsular Road there is a trailer parked in a regular parking spot. I would say if you call the resort and ask they would not have a problem with it. as far as locking it a chain and lock thru the wheels should be ok as well as the hitch lock.

Over the years at OKW, we have had need to park guest's trailers, and we have always asked at the front desk when we check in. We have always been directed to park them at PORS. They do NOT want you parking them near your villa, as that would take parking away from other villa occupants. BTW, often when you see a trailer parked at OKW, it is a construction trailer for rehab that's going on like it is now on Peninsular Road.

you could use one of thouse hitch carrier. Mine have 2 folds and expands to full side and fits nicely in the SUV cargo area when not in use.

We have the same thing for our May trip, 7 of us driving down in our Suburban, we will be utilizing the rooftop carrier as well as the rear carrier that slides into the trailer receiver. The rear carrier folds up out of the way when your not using it but it is really handy when it is needed.
