4/3 Adding Dining

I have the current 4/3 package booked for 9 nights at GF in August. Can't decide to add regular dining or not. We never did the dining option in all our trips to WDW. We rarely eat fast food when in WDW and like the nicer sit down restraunts. Is regular dining really worth the $160 per per day for the 4 of us?

Personally I love the ease of the dining plan. It's important though to consider the ways in which you like to dine. I don't usually get an appetizer when eating at TS places anyway (ruins my appetite) but I always love dessert even if for just a couple of bites so the DDP works for me. I like not having to look at the prices and like having as much of my trip paid for in advance. As for CS, there are some very good CS places. Check out the Disney menus on line it'll help give you an idea of whats available. I personally like http://allears.net/menu/menus.htm

I hate posting this, but it mirrors what I think and say that I just find it really easy to refer people to it. It's an article off a travel website that talks about Disney's dining plans and if/how it fits you. Check it out HERE

Thanks rt2dz! This article echos a lot of the research I've done so far. We have friends that swear by the dining plan, and have heard many in the restraunts and lines cursing it. I don't want to have to worry about counting points or running out before the day is out. We usually do a quick breakfast in the morning, then sit down lunch and dinner. Other days we will do a sit down breakfast, quick lunch and sit down dinner. The deluxe plan would be the plan of choice if we chose the dining plan, but probably won't. It just seems like another marketing ploy to prepay your food. I guess it works for a lot of people, but not our thing.

I think you should check out the menus and figure out roughly where you would eat each day and what you would order and add it up. We did the ddp this past October and I would never go without it. We got about $800 worth of food for the $604 we spent for the plan-that's a no brainer for us. And...we didn't even always get dessert.
