After countless trips to DW, we recently talked about going on a Disney Cruise. When the recent Florida rates were posted for April, we couldn't resist, took the plunge and will be on the Magic for the April 4th western cruise. :cool1:

Being a big planning guy, I am in massive research mode trying to get everything just right. However, I have not been able to find the answer to one question which I know will come up.

We decided on the later dinner so the kids can see all the evening shows. We will feed our younger ones dinner before, go to the show and then bring our ds (5) to the Oceaneer Club My ds is a non stop ball of fire who will suddenly just pass out and fall asleep wherever he is no matter how much activity or noise is around him. If he does this while in the Oceaneer Club, will they contact us to come pick him up or is there a place for them to lay down?

It is no big deal if we have to pick him up, with three older kids and the in-laws on board, we can take turns bringing him to bed.

Thanks for the help and all of the info on the board. It has helped this planner get up to speed quickly.

Usually around 10pm, they put on a movie and put mats out for the kids to fall asleep on. I don't think they will page you if he falls asleep, they will just allow him to sleep until you come to pick him up.

Come & Join us on the Cruise Meets board! There are a bunch of us there on the same cruise as you.

When you register them for the clubs, you will need to let them know who is able to pick them up & check them in & out. They also used to use a secret password, not sure if they do that anymore.

Thanks for the response.

If he falls asleep before 10:00, do they just put a mat in the corner for him to sleep on? Unless he naps during the day, he is not going to make it much past 9:00.

My ds (5) is so excited that he has packed his bags three different mornings in the past week and brought his suitcase downstairs because he is ready to go on the boat. This is making his mom very happy putting his clothes back on hangers. This morning he packed for his brother (1) also.

They will put a mat out for him "wherever he falls" no matter the time - if it is not a high traffic area. I saw a kid passed out in front of the smaller TV area, and the moved him off to the dise where he would not get stepped on. They are very very good with the kids!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I love this!! Your son is going to have an incredible time (and everyone else too).

Sorry but this was so sweet that I just had to comment. And tell him that my trip isn't until November but I want to start packing already too!!

That is hysterical. Too cute. He's going to have a blast.

I also saw children sleeping in the club at different times. (We just got off the Magic on Saturday.) Now I can say that when my 3-year-old daughter got sleepy, but didn't actually fall asleep, she told the counselors she wanted us paged because she was tired. They paged us right away. They were great with her, and she had a blast. If she hadn't said she wanted us paged, I think they would have just let her stay there, and fall asleep eventually. We're doing our trip report now and I just posted pictures of the club on one of the latest posts, if you're interested. The link is in my signature area.

Just FYI we had 1st seating on 2 different 7 day cruises now and still watched all the shows.....and we are slow eaters! lol The shows were usually about 45 minutes after we were done eating. Just something to think about, I don't know where you heard that you'd miss the shows if you had 1st seating? Just a tip.....grab the blanket from your room to take with you to the shows!! They are so darn chilly!

Thanks for the tip on the blanket. My wife gets cold very easily so that saves me a trip back to the room!!

Our ds (5) is a huge Disney show fan popcorn:: and we were worried that he would fall asleep by the time the second show started. Seriously, we could be eating dinner and one second later he could be sleeping with his head on the plate. This way we can all see the show and then eat in peace while he plays in the club until he passes out.

By the way, he has now watched the Disney Cruise dvd so many times that he is walking around reciting the dialogue (it makes this Disney Dad quite proud). I don't know how he will make the next seven weeks. Good thing we only booked two months in advance.
