Key West: Walking???

I was just wondering how far or how long of a walk it would be from the ship to the southern most point and some other hot spots of key west.

We are trying to figure out is we should walk, bike, or get an electric car. I have heard that parking is impossible, so I'm a little worried about an electric car.

Any advise?

I would like to know that too, we are thinking of doing the Trolley tour, or renting an electric car, so curious if it would be worthwhile just to walk.

We walked everything in Key west last May.

We thought it's an easy walk to do.
I know for sure that when you visit Epcot you walk way more then when you do at Key West.

Even when you are tired of walking you can decided to rent a scooter they have renting out points almost every block or you can hire a bicycle cab (you can sit and somebody else will do the hard work) :)

That sounds great. My only worry is that we have my mother who is not much of a walker coming with us... She really can't physically walk that far. I'm trying to figure out what to do for her.

That makes it a hard decision.

When you walk slowly then it takes you like 30 minuts to get to the Most Southern Point and then i mean walking slowly.
For us slowly means just walking at a nice pace and we walked thru the main street, so we dis some window shopping and some real shopping on the way.

There are in the main street enough places to sit down for a moment en relax, somewhere on the main street just before the MSP is a terrific good shop with smoothies just amazing how good those where.
There are benches along the streets so taking a rest is a possibility.

When you are not sure i would suggest take a trolley tram tour with the stops where you can hop on and hop off (be aware there is also a tram trolley tour where you can't hop on-hop off and that is the one that is with the DCL excursion i believe).
If you can hop on and hop off you can decided yourself how much of a walk you do.
You can see all the highlights and you can walk to the next stop if there is a bit of a wait....

I think that it is about one mile from the ship to the Southern Most Point. We plan to walk down there and back stopping at all of the FKLP places.

Depending on what time of year you go.....be aware that the summer months in Key West are brutal humidity wise....we were there in July and I literally almost passed out from the heat/humidity walking around. Make sure you stay hydrated all the time with water.

We found Key West to be hotter and more humid than any of the other ports we have been at over the years (in the summer).
