Is it a bad sign for the vacation when you faint on the plane? COMPLETED!

More of my replies on the prior page

Love all your Pixar Place photos -- I always feel warm and fuzzy seeing anything from Toy Story since it was one of Chelsea's favorite movies when she was little!

I LOVE that you got a Weezy (and that his squeaker works)! :rotfl:

Liam looks so happy playing away on the HISTK playground. :goodvibes
Wheezy hangs out in my bedroom with Mike & Sully that I got in 2007.....

Zachary LOVED the HISTK playground. Alex was so into ToT that we had to find something for Zachary to do at DHS. I'm sure we'll be back.

Great pictures of Pixar Place. None of that was visible at all when we were last there. I can't wait to check it out.

I'm glad Liam got to run off some steam. Can't wait to hear about your plans to save the evening.

Liam was too little for the rope climbing thing but the little slide and the nooks and crannies were just his size.

I went and pulled out my HS map today because I had no clue where the HISTK playground was. :confused3 There were so many people there the day we were, I really missed a lot of details...big and small! :sad2:
That was the first time I was in there. There are still things I haven't seen!

Your pictures are fantastic!! I love all the details. I can't wait to read more.

Thanks Miss Tracy!

I'm surpised HISTK play area wasn't open when you first tried. On our last trip we go there right at opening and I think all we did was Star Tours before heading over and it was open. They couldn't go in the netting because it was wet, but everything else was open. I love going in there at that time because there's hardly anyone in there. That place can get so crazy later in the day.

It opened at 10:30am. That's sometime that you what to be aware of.....opening and closing times of some attractions.....because since you were last there lots of things don't open when the park does, or closes early....like One Man's Dream (that usually closes at 3pm these days).

For next time: Maybe Liam would tolerate the loudness better if he wore ear plugs (the soft, squishy kind) or even ear phones....he'll be a bit bigger the next time you go, so he just might wear them for you! (There is going to be a next time, right?) ;)

Billy can't do fireworks without them and I can't do Dinosaur without them, either!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 on the HISTK playground...he looks like he's really having fun!

Kathy

I'm hoping that either he out grows it, or it that it had more to do with his age and being in an unfamiliar place. Disney is the only place where he has had this reaction to sound. Coupled with the fact that Liam (even at 21 months currently) has no speech. He has no words. Without going into the whole thing here....we've been working on getting him help and he should have speech therapy by the beginning of March.

Isn't it amazing what those little play areas will do for kids? :goodvibes

I can think of a few places that could use them....like World Showcase.

When my DD was a toddler, she's now 12!, that was her favorite playground!
Sigh, I miss those days!

Great update!

You miss changing diapers??? just kidding.

Welcome to my Trip Report for our Walt Disney World vacation!

Let me quickly run thru the details….if you missed my Pre-Trip Report: PTR for the Planning Obsessed
Click here if you want to read it (use the links on the first page)

When: October 26 to November 4 2008 (10 days/9 nights)
Where: Caribbean Beach Resort (king bed room)
How we traveled: Flying to/from Orlando, renting a car in Orlando
Who: Meet the Cast……

June272006031.jpg

Out of all the pictures that I took on this vacation there is not one good one of just me and DH. This picture is from our Hawaiian Honeymoon in 2006.

Me: MRYPPNS/Heidi (36) SAHM & book keeper, lover of most things Disney.

DH: John (32) Engineer, lover of a few things Disney

1029077.jpg

DS: Liam (17 months) Toddler, lover of Playhouse Disney

And my surprise announcement is that we had another family member that decided to join us on this vacation without much notice. Now if you see any of my postings on other threads about traveling with family, I always say that I will only travel with people that I can boss around. Well this is the one and only family member that can boss me around…..I don’t have much choice about it, at least for a now.

ultrasound10weeks.jpg

DBaby: No name yet (currently 14 weeks along), seems to be a lover of Disney food!

Yes I'm pregnant with our second child, they will be 2 years apart....an infant and a 2 yr old toddler....for the love of Mickey what were we thinking??

I get really bad morning, noon and night sickness, along with motion sickness and pregnancy generally makes me really tired so I didn’t know how this would play out with a 10 day vacation to Disney. I’m a huge planner….obsessed you might say. Then I had to cut some touring plans….gone was Tower of Terror, Expedition Everest and the Grey Goose Slushie in France. This would be the second trip in a row that I was pregnant and couldn’t ride Everest! I have never ridden it because it was still under construction when we went in 2005. The bright side is that I will probably be able to ride it before Michelle Duggar! I can’t even write about all the cocktails that I missed out on…..and this is one vacation where I could have used a few!

The days leading up to our vacation were kind of stressful for me. We were flying out on Sunday morning. So I thought I would have all of Friday to pack and such, then Saturday I could stop by my little part-time job to do payroll and then have my pedi.

Well on Friday I ended up having an ultrasound that was re-scheduled from 2 weeks prior. It was a routine ultrasound because of my advanced age (35!). It cut my day right in half. Not only did I have the ultrasound, I had to have blood drawn. I have tiny veins. Thankfully I got a good vampire tech and we chatted about Orlando while she drained enough blood for 6 test tubes!!! (This is the carp that none of your girlfriends tell you about having a baby).

On Saturday the plan was to drive the half hour to my little job, work for about 2 hours and then make it to my pedi appointment by 10:45am. As I was getting ready to go DH was watching the local news and they were reporting that parts of the road where my job is located was closed due to an accident. Talk about stress. I only had so much time to get everything done and this wasn’t a road that is easily detoured around. In the end I had to drive 15 minutes past where I needed to be and prayed that the road was open on the other side. It was! Things were looking up. I got what I need to done and reversed the long drive to my pedi appointment. I had a Lemon-aide pedi…..so nice! Ladies treat yourself to a special pedi at a nice spa soon. It was so relaxing I was ready to leave on vacation right then and there! In hind sight it might have been better if we did leave Saturday afternoon.

Here’s Liam relaxing before our big travel day.

I am glad Liam enjoyed his time in the playground. We didn't make it there in Dec., but when my little boy was 4 years old he loved it. You can get some really cute pictures in there too.

Thanks for joining us!

I am glad Liam enjoyed his time in the playground. We didn't make it there in Dec., but when my little boy was 4 years old he loved it. You can get some really cute pictures in there too.

It's nice to have a place where they can just run around and burn off some steam!

From the playground we decided to get some lunch. I think it was about 11am. The original plan called for getting sandwiches at Starring Rolls Café. But between the time (Starring Rolls doesn’t start serving sandwiches until 11:30) and where we were in the park we decided to try Toy Story Pizza Planet. I think I’m one of the few DISer’s who actually likes the pizza at the parks. The game plan was for DH to find the evaluator to the second floor and get Liam started on the food that we had packed for him, while I ordered our food and got the napkins and such. It wasn’t busy but the kitchen didn’t seem to know how to fill orders…..I waited way too long for our food.
Anyways….DH had the Cheese Pizza with salad ($7.79) and I had the Pepperoni Pizza with salad ($8.09: total for lunch $16.92) and I got us each a cup of ice for our bottled soda that we brought with us. The pizza was good and the salads were OK, but it’s nice to have some greens instead of fries all week.

No food porn from lunch but I did take a picture of the hidden pizza cutter!

1029042.jpg

Throughout lunch Liam had his eye on this bowling video game that was near our table. After lunch and a potty break (FYI, there are bathrooms on the second floor) I thought it would be fun to play the bowling game for Liam. It was the kind with the roller ball instead of a joystick. We had a blast playing that little game for him…..I’m glad we stopped and did that.

Our FastPass window had opened up for TSMM while we were having lunch so the timing was perfect. Once we got there, we decided I’d go first since we didn’t think it would be a good idea to try to take Liam…quite frankly I didn’t want to waste the experience for myself or DH if Liam freaked on the ride. The FastPass line went straight in up to the baskets of 3D glasses. The stand-by queue looked huge from what I saw of it….someday I want to wait in it so I can see everything and Mr. Potato Head.
Here are my pictures from the queue.

I got half the ride vehicle to myself so I wasn’t sitting with a stranger, not that I really cared but it was fun to have the shooting screens to myself. And I can say is WOW! What a great attraction. I think I could have ridden it all day. I wasn’t very good at it, but boy was it fun.

I got back out to DH in actually 20 minutes. He was chatting with another dad on baby swap duty. His family had gone thru the stand-by line and got him a baby swap pass….he had given it to DH because he decided that he didn’t want to ride after his family got back. Wasn’t that nice of him? DH took off to ride. Liam had been awake this whole time just sitting in his stroller playing with some toys. I was expecting a meltdown any minute….so I broke out my secret weapon……travel size bubbles! Worked like a charm! He didn’t even notice the green Army man that was like 6 feet from us that had showed up to do a meet n’ greet.
DH was back in 20 minutes and he offered the extra baby swap ticket to me to use. I was very happy to accept it and ran off to ride once more.

{quick note about TSMM: I overheard a CM that was loading the ride that Disney was now allowing little kids to sit on their parent's laps during the ride, not just between them on the seat as it was before when the ride first opened}

1029066.jpg

1029067.jpg

I scored better this time, but still didn’t beat DH’s score….I’m so not good at video games! When I got back, DH was walking around with a sleeping Liam in the stroller.

We just walked about checking things out around the park. And then we declared it snack time! We checked out the baked goods at Starring Rolls Café but decided to get a bucket of popcorn instead. I went to get the Popcorn while DH got in line at the Café to grab a drink for himself (he never packed enough Coke from the room to get him thru the day!) and a cup of ice for me. He took so long that I thought I had lost him. Seems that the person in front of him wanted some special tea or something, so every CM working in the Café stopped what they were doing to help this one person. While I’m sure that was wonderful for that person, it’s wasn’t so nice for the line of people behind him/her. When DH re-appeared with his Coke ($2.22) we helped ourselves to a nice seat on the patio at the Brown Derby.
Here’s a picture of the Halloween themed popcorn buckets.

They make great containers for packing fragile items in your luggage to fly home with!

I don’t remember when Liam woke up but I do know that we walked around some more because I wanted to check out the well near the Indy show and the gift shop at Star Tours. I found the well….I wish I took video because now I don’t remember it very clearly….oh well….guess we’ll have to find it again. When we got to Star Tours the Jedi Training thing was going on.

1029056.jpg

It looked cute but I couldn’t see the little kids from where I was. And because of all the people I couldn’t find the photo op thing or the gift shop so that was a bust. Oh well.

It wasn’t until I got home did I notice this LGMH in one of my pictures:
1029057.jpg

If that is your back-side with the lime green bag and LGMH DIS tag and you are reading this please say hello!

I don’t have any notes but I believe we left the park sometime around 2:30pm to go back to the resort.

It was still cold out so back at the resort we just relaxed in the room. Liam had his afternoon milk and snack while watching Stacy or cartoons and playing with his toys.
1029070.jpg

DH played his computer game on the laptop. I walked to the gift shop at Old Port Royale in hopes of finding some good postcards (no luck) and ended up buying a CBR pin ($9.54 including tax). When I got back to the room I started reading the book I had taken along with me on vacation. We just chilled until it was time to get ready for our evening plans that I had cooked up without it even being on the schedule! Yeah me for being flexible!!! LOL

Yay for TSMM!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!! Sounds like I won't be disappointed.

What is the "well" you were talking about?? I want to find it...

Can't wait to hear about your evening plans.:thumbsup2

Heidi!! Somehow I fell horribly behind. :sad2: But I have spent such a nice afternoon catching up on your journey. I love your TR!

Funny but I always go through the left tunnel at MK. Now I may rethink that. Cursed? ;)

I have never ever seen or heard of the hidden sub at the Pooh playground area. Thanks for sharing!

Love the pics of the first haircut. That sounds like such a great deal!! :thumbsup2

Good for you for adjusting your touring plan as needed! Hard for an obssesive Disney planner, I know!

You're full of lots of good tips - dollar store toys, $4 toaster... I'm taking notes!!! :)

I loved TSM!! SO fun.

Looking forward to more. :goodvibes

It sounds and looks like you had a lovely late morning/early afternoon at DHS. Pizza Planet always overwhelms me with all the noise and activity -- we haven't been back since 2004. TSMM is great! I never beat anyone's scores -- I guess I don't play enough video games! :rotfl: We found the well last time, too -- I want to say it is between the Indy gift shop and the entrance to the Indy show -- you know Connor had to pull that rope about a million times because he liked it so much! After your nice relaxing afternoon back at the resort, I can't wait to find out what your unscheduled evening plans turned out to be!

TSMM is wicked awesome! (I threw in the "wicked" just for you ;) ) I think everyone in your family will love it....plan to ride more then once if you can.

The well is near the enterance to the Indy show. There is a sign that reads "do not pull the rope" but the word not is crossed off. Give it a pull and listen!

Sometimes it's nice to have a "lost"TR to read on a Sunday afternoon....glad to have you back!

I'd stick with the left tunnel for you then, could be that the right one is cursed for you!

Pizza Planet was pretty empty when we were there....that's the good thing about eating lunch around 11am (and you have room for a mid afternoon snack too!). There weren't many games upstairs which always helps.

Quick Baby aside: Baby girl is now big enough to kick me in the ribs! She's been going at it since last night.....

TSM is AWESOME :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2. We love it! I am so happy you had a good day! I hope it continued through that night.

We thought the pizza at Pizza Planet was quite tasty. :thumbsup2

LOVE the popcorn and the souvenir buckets. I didn't know they have different themed ones - cool! :cool1:

I am so excited to ride TSM!

What a great day this is shaping up to be!

I do love those popcorn buckets, as you know. And oddly enough, I've never been to the second floor of Pizza Planet so it's nice to know there are restrooms up there.

I'm glad you got to ride TSM twice! That ride is awesome.

I can't wait to hear about the rest of your day. :thumbsup2

Add me to the list of those who cannot wait to do TSMM...I love the pictures you posted...is the storyline that Andy set this contraption up with the toys in his bedroom?? It looks like we (the riders) are supposed to be toy-sized...

And a most definite two :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 for the relaxing break at CBR; as well as the flexibility strategy. (See, even not having a plan can be a plan!!!)

Kathy

It sounds like you had a nice relaxing afternoon. I am glad you got to ride TSM twice, that is a great ride. It was one of the few rides my son liked and we were only able to ride it once because of the line being so long. We also went through the fastpass line. I would like to see the other line, but not enough to wait 2 hours.

It wasn’t until I got home did I notice this LGMH in one of my pictures:

Hello, it was me! The guy in the orange coat is my husband. My son was up there somewhere with us, I see his shoe. It's funny how I hardly saw any LGMH at all that week. I think we had just finished lunch at the Sci-Fi because we got milkshakes for dessert to go. I wish I had turned around and was able to meet you! I have been following your PTR and TR.

Ok I have to come back and finish later (up to just before you PP update...) but I wanted to reply to these before I forget...

Lion King and Beauty and the Beast are being re-released on DVD for Christmas 2009.

thanks for this tid bit, I can't wait to get LK on DVD. I was working for the stores when it came out to the big screen, it has special memories for me.

Margaret had a speech delay as well, she recieves ST in our home once a week, she is really coming along. Mae did too, but hers was mostly due to 9 months of ear infections and fluid in her ears as an infant. feel free to pm or email me to chat more :goodvibes

I can think of a few places that could use them....like World Showcase.

I ditto that!

You miss changing diapers??? just kidding.

I can't wait to be missing this!
