Or does anyone else think that models make wedding dresses look stupid?

I get all settled to look up images of different types of dresses, to get at least some sort of an idea as to what I'm looking for, and I can't help but scoff at many of the dresses I see...

I looked at Sincerity Bridal 3159 - i fell in love with it on the photo on the website- when i saw it in the flesh i was so dissapointed i didnt even try it on!!! stupid photo!!!

I always try and search for the dress with 'normal' girls wearing it - not everyone is size 0 and 7ft tall!!

my dress is not even on the internet

i am going to try it on again tomorrow - but they wont let me take photos- even though i am clearly in love with the dress and its the one i want! grrr!!

I TOTALLY agree with you! I think it is already enough pressure to find the perfect dress, and then to have the skinniest models wearing your dress is just frustrating!

i agree... they are so tall and skinny and flat chested (i am the opposite - short and voluptuous!) that i never have any idea how something would look on a real person. davidsbridal.com always has pictures that people posted of themselves wearing or trying on dresses. even if you wouldn't shop there it helps to see real women wearing the different styles. i think maggie sottero and sottero & midgley also have some pictures of real girls wearing the dresses for some styles. i think it's worth looking at these.

What I find the most distracting is that in some of the higher end, expensive dresses that I have seen posted on the boards have those ticked off looks on their faces and weird makeup. Is that how people look when they get married? Like they're just off a 4 day crack binge, or they just got caught in the rain and put on a $12,000 dress?

Exactly! Weirdo hair cuts, plastered on black make up, and angry looking!
