Talked to CM -Help me "decode"

So I called tonight and spoke to a CM who told me several things.

1. that if I had a pin code, I can still book through AAA and get the code.

2. I had a pin (and didn't know it) that expired in January but she said that usually a DVD order (for planning) is a trigger for a code.

3. The CM said that if I was specific when I called in and asked for something that they could extend it to me, but if not, she could not offer it to me. I know (Bless her heart) she was doing her best to tell me something but I just wasn't picking up on it. Does anyone have an idea as to what specific things I should be asking for?

I also asked if it was a good idea for me to switch our dates from Sept. to August to take care of the 4/3 deal. I told her we were really hoping for the free dining and to be able to stay with our original Sept dates. She said that she felt we should keep our Sept dates and that while she could neither "confirm or deny" what was coming down the pike, that we should be okay.

Hope this helps someone and if someone can help me decode what specific things she was looking for I would appreciate it.

Thanks

You can book thru AAA with a code, but you get either the code or the AAA discount not both.

Maybe if you told her that you have a friend who got the free dining pin code and is there anyway they can extend that to you. That covers your dates.

I called yesterday as was told the exact thing about something was coming down the pike... He told me to keep my September trip and pay attention and call them back when it was announced... of course he didn't say what "it" was though...

there have been reports yesterday of people receiving a pin code for free dining from 8/16-10/1 maybe it was this she was thinking about.

Good to know about ordering the DVD:thumbsup2 I had heard this, but this is a confirmation. I know that it does gaurantee a code, but at least I know it helps the odds.:goodvibes

I don't know about that. I order that silly DVD twice a year and have never received a code. I am signed up on every Disney site, have filled out every survey I've been asked to, and double check periodically to make sure they have my email correct. Still nadda!:sad1:

You can use any travel agent when receiving a code. They just need the pin number or can check with Disney for you. You cannot combine discounts it would be one or another but not both

We signed up for the Bounce-Back Free Dining for Sept 2009 while we were there last Sept (2008) - assume that it will be extended to the general public this spring. However, no telling how many have been booked already through the BB.

ahh..the plot thickens..that is what I 'felt" I was being told but I also wondered if I asked about the pin codes that I see on the boards being offered, if that I asked specificially for that, that I might get it.

***Aubriee*** When you call in to check if you email is correct, are you asking if you have a pin code? Disney's system told my CM that it has generated an email but I never got it. I was bummed to find out I actually had one and it had passed me by. Good luck (hoping you get one too). I would keep calling in and asking, check dates etc. - It supposedly helps to generate one.

Bummer - I tried to see if I had a pin and I don't. Oh, well, I'll just have to wait till it's announced (or the pin fairy visits me).

This seemed to happen to me. I've never received a PIN code in the mail or anything (even being a DVC and AP holder for the last two years).

I called a few weeks ago to book a weekend at POP for SWW. He asked if I had a discount code. I said no, but I was a DVC/AP/AAA person. After a few seconds, he "found" a PIN code for 40% off!

He tried to apply the code to the POR potion of our April stay, but apparently that weekend was blacked out - it isn't Easter weekend, so he wasn't sure why.

Note: Don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I just checked my online profile on disney.com and discovered that my street address was under the "unit" and not where it should be. And when I updated with my AP info (is that new?), ir didn't like the apostrophe in the last name. You don't know how many times I've been "discriminated" against by computers because of that! (I know why, I program computers, but it's dead simple to fix). Heck, I've had problems at the remote checkin desks because of it!

1. Yes you can still use AAA to book a trip with your pin, you of course just cant combine discounts.

2. Yes, ordering the DVD MAY trigger a code to be sent to you

3. You can not say "what kind of specials are you running" or anything along those lines. You have to specifically ask for a special or promo. Disney runs probably 100 differant discounts for AAA, AP, FL resident, teachers, military, convention, sports, etc etc etc. The CM cant sit there for 20 minutes saying "are you aaa?, are you a fl resident? are you an ap holder? are you a teacher?"
