Just received a card for FREE $500 Disney Gift Card when purchasing a 5 night/6 day pkg that includes room and park tkts. Rate is $594 per person double occ. at a value. Dates 3/01 - 4/16/09.

For those of you getting similar offers where exactly at WDW Resorts have you used the gift card?

I also got that e-mail. Too bad we just got back on Saturday. The $200 gift card we used everywhere - gift shops, restaurants for tips (we had the DDP). It was awesome.

Doesn't that seem awfully high for what you're getting? Value resort, right?
I know WDW "seasons" are different, but a AAA discount and getting your tickets from Undercover Tourist would come out cheaper even with the gift card.

We're staying at AKL standard view in July (5 nights) with a AAA discount and getting our ticket from Undercover Tourist.
Four the four of us it will be $1147.50 for the room and if I do base tickets it would be $907.80 or $1088.00 for hoppers (5days +2 free)

So either $2055.30 or $2235.50, so the gift card isn't that big of a value.
It would be about $700.00 cheaper if we stayed at a value resort.

What's the breakdown for that time frame in a value? You may do better without the pin.

Your 2055 is for 5 nights? If we divide your 2055 by 4 people it is 513 per person or 103 per person per night. Does that look right? Is there a step I'm missing?

Just got mine in the mail yesterday but one problem. I am booked 4-19 through 5-2 already at Fort Wilderness but that $500 would have been nice.

Yours would be $118 per person per night, the gift card doesn't reduce anthing off your $118.00, you've paid for it in your $118 per day. If you added the cost of a gift card to mine, it would be $2555.00 divided by 4----$638.75 each----$127.75 per night. The difference is that we are going in July and staying at AKL.
How much would it be for your 5 nights at a value, for your dates, if you applied a AAA discount? Now, at $226.00 each for two 5 Day base tickets(actually a 7day), what would your total be? Add $500.00(for the gift card) if it was your money,now, how much would it be?

Sometimes you do better without the pin and since it's just the two of you, you probably get disney by about $250.00, much better than we would do. The pin wouldn't work for us even if it were in our time frame.

And yes the card can be considered to reduce what we'd be spending at the world, whether I look at it as a per night reduction or a reduction in food expenses per night, etc. Because we all gotta eat.
