Best Restaurants for 5yr old

I'm taking my cousin (age 5) to Disney. It's her first trip. She's not a picky eater but she doesn't eat much. We will there for 5 nights.

This trip is all about her:
Crystal Palace- breakfast (my must do)
Chef Mickey's- breakfast or dinner (which one is better?)
Aksherous- breakfast

I'm considering the dining plan depending on the other restaurants I choose/if I choose any more because it would be $51 a night which would cover everything except tips... I don't think I can beat that.

Any other restaurants to add to the list that would be fun with some good food?

Ohanas at the Polynesian is a lot of fun. They cook meat on sticks over an open fire and have a coconut race and other entertainment for the kids. It is expensive, but if you do the dining plan it's only 1 credit.

I just came back from a 5 day trip with my 6 year old niece and TS breakfasts worked best for her. We did the Princess Breakfast and Crystal Palace and the food was fantastic and the characters were awesome. She loves breakfast food so we really got our monies worth here. princesses? A lot of young ladies that age are - mine included. CRT is special but it is two TS credits on the plan. Askerhaus is only one credit. Both include a picture as part of the package. There is also a Cinderella focused meal 1900 Park Fare for dinner. It includes most of the main cast from the story including the prince, step mother and step sisters. The other two have multiple princesses and/or leading ladies. One greets you and has a picture taken. It's always Cinderella at CRT but varies at Askerhaus. There are usually four others that are at the meal walking from table to table talking to the guests and signing autographs.

CRT is still my daughter's favorite meal.

My Cousin knows who the princesses are but I'm almost positive she has never seen the movies. I'm going to start watching them with her but she frightens easily. Meeting Minnie and Mickey will be more of a highlight.

I'll look into CRT vs. Aksherous, I did Aksherous a few years ago for breakfast with 2 little girls and was very, very disappointed.

And I'm going to check out MickeyNicki's report right now!

My then DD 10, DD7, DNiece 2 and DNephew 4 absolutely loved Ohana! They ran around with the coconut races, sang songs and danced with the CM. The food choices for the adults are great and there are "alternate children's menu choices" (per allears.net), which I think means that you can get mac 'n cheese and chicken fingers. That being said, all the kids that were with us ate the "adult" food. The other great thing is that this is a sit down meal that is served pretty quickly, so the little ones don't have time to get antsy waiting for food.

We just ate at CRT for breakfast and Akershus for dinner last week. Both were good. But the princesses seemed more rushed at CRT. At Akershus they spent a lot of time at each table chatting and we got a lot of pictures. I had the vegetable ravioli which was very good, and DD and DS both had the kid's ravioli (Mickey shaped) and meatballs. They ate every last bight.

If she is into Little Einsteins or JoJo's Circus then try the Hollywood & Vine for breakfast or lunch -- we did lunch there so can't comment on breakfast. Lunch food was OK but my kids were thrilled to see Leo and June! Loved Ashkerhus, agree with PP that princesses did not seem as rushed there, but also loved CRT for the "bling" of being in the castle and getting to meet Cinderella. Chef Mickey's breakfast was a blast, so much food that we did not need to eat lunch! We also loved the characters at CP but ate supper there.

It sounds like you have made some great choices! If she was a Cinderalla girl (like one of mine) I would say definately CRT, if not, you can go cheaper and just as many princesses at Ashkerhus. (and pictures are included with both)!

My kids loved the Garden Grill in Epcot. The restaurant spins while you eat and you get lots of character interaction with Mickey, Chip & Dale. Sci fi diner is also fun, you eat in a car & watch movies like you are at a drive in. We also like 1900 Park Fare. I would do Chef Mickeys as a dinner if you are already doing 2 TS breakfasts. Never tried Akerhaus as my kids are very picky & the menu to me looks very unappealing. Hollywood & Vine had great character interaction (my kids got up & danced with the Einsteins) but the food was not good at all. We were on the DDp so we really didn't care but I would not have been happy if we paid OOP for this one.

I think the character meals you have chosen will be great. She will love the princesses. And if you add anymore, it might be overdoing it. I would just do counter service meals for the rest if she is like how mine were at 5 years old, chicken nuggets and mac and cheese is their ideal choice. They aren't into food so much at that age, so I wouldn't do anymore TS meals.
