Which do you prefer:

Jiko or Artist Point?

Narcoosee's or Citricos?

DH and I are going to try 3 signature restaurants next trip. What do you recommend?

You will probably find that I am in the minority on this one, but I prefer Artist Point over Jiko. The first time I went to Jiko, I thought maybe I went on a bad night or else because of all the hype it gets here in the DIS I may have set my expectations too high. Regardless, it was just OK. So, I tried it again with the same feeling. It's good, but to me, not as good as Artist Point. I'd go to Artist Point just for their berry cobbler.:goodvibes

I prefer Narcoosee over Citricos, although both of them are VERY good. By, the way, if you don't like steak or lobster, you can substitute scallops for one on the Surf and Turf.

Last May I went to WDW using the DxDDP and used it to eat in a different Signature restaurant each night. I'd rank them as:

1. Narcoosee
2. Flying Fish
3. Citricos
4. Artist Point
5. California Grill
6. Yachtsman Steakhouse
7. Jiko

We absolutely loved Jiko's on our last trip - some of the best food we have ever had! Artist Point was also lovely but felt it lacked a bit of atmosphere in there. Havn't tried Narcoosee's or Citricos (hopefully on our Nov trip) but can recommend the Yachtsman Steakhouse- one of the best steaks I have ever had, and California Grill - amazing food and views over MK

All 4 are pretty good. Jiko is rated at the top of the list by many critics. Jiko is great, but so is Narcoosee's - the view from Narcoossee's is really nice. If you go to Narcoossee's, be sure to allow yourself time to get to it as it is on the other side of the resort from where the monorail stops. Artist Point was good - nice views and food was good. Have not eaten at Citrico's - that is on the slate for April's trip.

Great question - one with no wrong answers.

Between Jiko and AP, I'd go with AP
Between Citrico's and Narcoossee's I'd go with Citricos.

But there are considerations. In the Jiko/AP decision, I might just make my decision based on where I was that day or how easy it would be to get back to my resort that night.

For Citrico/Narcoossee, the decision might hinge on if I wanted a more elegant setting, in which case Citrico would win. Not to say that Narcoossee's isn't nice, its just the decor is a bit more "refined" at Citrico.

For food and service you'll find all four are great.

Jiko, again has a new chef, so we will see how that goes.

We prefer Flying Fish and Artist Point.

Citrico's, while we have heard from friends who live in the area it has been pretty good lately, it was some things really good some things just ok for us in the past.

Narcoosees has never been a favorite.

We would choose Jiko over AP, hands down. We just ate at both 3 weeks ago, and Jiko was definitely much better. Not that AP was bad, though - we enjoyed it, too, which was a surprise, because we didn't the first time we ate there.

Between Narcoossee's and Citrico's - tough call, but I'd probably pick Narcoossee's, just because of the location. We've always had good meals here, but our last trip, my surf 'n turf was not quite as good as usual. Both surf and turf overcooked, lol.

I don't think you can make a bad call here, all four are very good. Good luck, and have a wonderful trip!

:sunny:

Just ate at Artist Pointe and the food was very average. The waiter was also not very good.

If I was paying cash instead of the DP, I'd have been really mad. $43 for a steak that was tough? Atmosphere was not what you'd expect for such an expensive place (people in TShirts and jeans, etc.)

Had Coral Reef the next night and everything there was better. Plus, CR ony takes one TS credit.

we've only eaten at artist point (of your list) but we loved it and even made a point of going a 2nd time! everything - including the service was wonderful! i definitely think it's worth trying. (we are already planning on eating there at least 2x on our next trip as well!)

Our favs are Jiko and Flying Fish

Ditto!

We try to get to Flying Fish every time we're there. It is, however, the only restaurant in the Boardwalk area we've been to, so I can't comment on many others.

Always enjoy Jiko, expecially the wine list.

OK, I'm re-thinking my 2-table credit choices....
Flying Fish looks excellent!

Now, which is better for food, ambiance, romance and fireworks viewing:
Cali Grill or Narcoosee's?

Thanks everyone, you've been super helpful!

Here's our list for dinning.... (we are combining a 3 nights DxDDP and 3 nights DDP - 2 hotel reservations, 1 trip!)

Sat. Le Cellier (Dinner)
Sun. Boma (Breakfast) Narcoosees <or> Cali Grill
Mon. Kona (Breakfast) Flying Fish <or> Hoop De Doo (FF sounds more our speed)
Tue. Artist Point (Dinner)
Wed. Boma (Dinner)
Thu. Grand Floridian Cafe (Dinner)
Fri. Raglan Road (Lunch)

Any suggested changes? Maybe something else instead of the GFC.... we enjoyed it once before. Is Coral Reef 1 or 2 credits? We haven't tried there yet. Decisions ... Decisions. Good thing I have a few months to decide. I think I need to check out a food porn thread. Too bad they aren't organized by restaurant. That would be wonderful!
