We would love to take a Disney Cruise in a few years:cloud9:

Just curious if someone could give me a ballpark figure of how much it might cost us...2 adults, 2 children for a 7 night Cruise? We would probably get a standard room as long as it has a window! If there are cheaper times of the year to go, I'd like that price because that's probably when we would choose to go!:)

We have the same size family and went on a Western this past November. For us the base cruise was ~ $3,300 booked a year out for a Cat 9. To this you have to add tips, liquor, excursions, pictures, etc. and we added ~ 1,000 extra after our on board credits. This can really vary - some people spend $0 for pictures and I saw people spending $1,000 for pictures :crazy2:

You also need to add the cost of getting to the port. We used FF miles and 2 one way rental cars for ~ $110. Used Marriott points for a night before the cruise in Cape Canaveral. Also bought private insurance for $110.

All told I think you can do it for $5,000 - $6,000 in a category 9 (Which has a window) You can go cheaper if you take an interior cabin and don't drink as much, do excursions, etc.

When we rebooked onboard we did January Eastern in the same category for ~ $3,800 plus $200 credit. I looked at summer, but that was about $6,500 base which was too much for us.

My value point is around $500 per night, so $3,500 for 7 nights seems about right to me. I got that by comparing to a WDW vacation of:

Dining for 4 ~ $100 a day (almost all food is included)
Kids Club ~ $100 a day (babysitting is expensive on vacation, adult time is :flower3: )
Tickets ~ $100 a day (lots of shows and "attractions" on the ship)
Room ~ $200 a day (not a lot of space, but a great location)

It really is a wonderful time and would recommend you try it if you can. Only problem is you will want to come back :rotfl2:

I won't bother giving you a number, because the odds of it being anything close to what you find when ready to book are incredibly slim.

I have a 7 night Western booked for 22 Aug 09. I wanted to cruise in June, but a cat 5 veranda stateroom in late August cost about the same as a cat 9 in late June when I booked.

The low price time seems to be September to early December, excluding Thanksgiving and Halloween.

We are also 2 adults, 2 kids and like a window. (Cat. 9)
Here's what we've done and will do:

1. Feb '07- Eastern- $3400 booked in Oct. 05 thru AAA ($150 obc)

2. Thanksgiving '08 Western-double dip- $3900 (booked onboard of Feb 07 cruise. $200 obc from DCL + $200 obc from our ta)

3. Halloween '09 Western- $3480 booked online in May 08 then rebooked while onboard for $3300 + $200 obc from DCL and $200 from our ta)

4. Halloween '10 Western-$3370 booked online in Oct 08 then rebooked while onboard for $3219 + $200 obc from DCL and $200 from our ta)

You get the lowest prices by booking as soon as they release new dates, also best cabin selection. Prices usually only go up, rarely down, but these days you never know.
