my family has always went to disney, this year gonna try universal. Wanted to know how long the lines are in june ( 13-17) Were trying to decide if we should stay on site for the free no waiting in lines deal. Is it worth it for this time period. And if so, is it worth the price difference at pbh vs. rpr of 100 bucks for standard rooms, is it really larger? thanks for any help

If you are new to Universal, I think that it's a great idea to stay onsite if you can manage it. You not only get the no waiting in line deal but the location is great plus you can pool hop! If you like pools this is major IMO.

We stayed at the Royal Pacific and it was very nice. I personally like the location better than the Portofino's too. But the Portofino is beautiful and romantic and none are badly located so it's just a matter of what you prefer. Be sure and check out the Hard Rock pool if you stay on site.

i've only stayed at the hard rock. but one of my friends has stayed at both the royal pacific and the portofino. she liked the royal pacific a lot more. but i also hear a lot of great reviews of the portofino.

the express passes are definately worth it. when purchasing express at the park, it's only valid one time per attraction. but with your room keys, you have unlimited access to the attractions. the only way to receive unlimited access is to pay $70.99 plus tax per person per day. stay on site. i'm a universal tm, and i absolutely loved the express passes. i had it for three days. we only stayed onsite for two nights, but you get it the day you check in through the day you check out. it's awesome.

Here's my opinion.

If you can do the Resorts, DO THE RESORTS!!!! There are so many reasons for this that can really make a good time, a GREAT time. You will feel like your kings for the time there and the FOTL lets you do what you want, when you want. The resorts are the way to go if at all possible.

If I take my whole family, I will usually go to the RPR. The cost difference is not the only reason, but the pool area is great for the kids and the theme of the resort is just more laid back.

If just my wife and I go, I will do the PBH. It is just more "romantic" IMO. The hotel is breathtaking when you see it from the boats and I just really like the theming of it inside. It's just a great hotel to walk and hold hands.

Either way, you are not going to have a bad time if you stay onsite.

Like everyone else has said - if you can stay onsite DO IT! The unlimited express pass that you get when you stay on site is worth it IMO. Plus, you can walk to the parks :)

all 3 hotels are a different room size.

here is the link to get the description and size information for each.

how many in your family?
that may make a decision on which hotel you think would best suit the size of your family.

i have stayed at all three of them.
PBH has the most space.
RPH has less than the others.

if you are not the type that will stay in your room most of the time, i don't think it would make a difference on the size of your room then.

you will not go wrong with any of them.
