Can I double dip on onboard credit?

If we book our next cruise onboard we get an onboard credit and discount.

Can I then transfer the reservation to Dreams Unlimited Travel Inc. (DUTI) and get their onboard credit?

I’m actually very mad at myself. :sad2:

We have been re-booking our cruise onboard then transferring it to a travel agent for years. Not DUTI. For doing no work this travel agent stopped giving us a onboard welcome aboard gift many years ago, no onboard credit from them, we (not them) get up at midnight to book Palo’s the first possible day, etc. We have been booking a veranda cat 4 and are a family of 5.

I just sent our TA a email to see if they will give us a onboard credit like DUTI does. Since they already have the reservation and we have made final payment I’m not confident.

Again, I am mad at myself for not finding this board years ago. Ten Disney Cruise Line 7 day reservations later that’s $2,000 wasted! :teacher: Never again.

You can get an onboard rebooking credit and a TA credit.

You cannot "double dip" on credits from Disney. For instance, you cannot get an onboard rebooking credit and a Disney Visa credit as both of those are from Disney.

Thank you.

So after booking 10 Disney cruises, 2 HAL cruises and 6 Carnival cruises, and having two other cruises booked that are still reserved with the cruise line, not yet transferred to the TA, what are the odds that the TA will give us some onboard credit for this Disney cruise? January 24th, 09

I did email the TA just this morning with a link to the above offer. He is not in until Monday.

We have already made final payment.

Again, I am very mad at myself. I really feel like a sucker.

My thinking would be that if the onboard credit wasn't offered as part of the incentive to use that TA, you probably aren't going to get it. The TA has nothing to gain by giving you what is essentially part of their profit.

I think you are right.

Hopefully someone else will read this message and not make the same dumb mistake I did.

:headache:

I should have shopped around when the welcome aboard gifts stopped.

Where is the little emotion thing were you are banging your head against a brick wall?

There are other TA's that give OBC's as well. Mine is giving us $600. for our DCL Baltics cruise next year.

When you rebook onboard you can designate which TA you want to use.
