Meal Deal...worth it or not??

I am trying to decide if the meal deal is worth is or not. I like having a pre-paid vacation with the food being paid for. I would like to know if anyone has done this before and whether or not it is worth the money for what you get. Is it worth the one park vs. two park and how are the restaurants on the plan? I am showing one deal that does include the drinks as well, of course that is a little more. How about a table service meal? It is listed as $35 per person, is that worth it and can you order anything off the menu? Also, is the charceter breakfast worth the price as well? I am planning on doing 3 days and at Disney I always thought the dining plan was well worth it both times we did it. However, that was several years ago when it first came out and tip and more choices was included. Thanks for any info in helping me decide. Have never been to Universal and will be taking me, my husband and a 14 year old.

If your family eats alot then it may be worth it but I have found for my family its not because we are a family of 4and my boys want to do the rides and won't even think about eating until they get so hungry they have to eat and the charcter breakfast we have never done but if your 14 year old is into the charcters then it is worth it

It really wasn't worth it for us! We had a nice breakfast at the hotel and then weren't that hungry for lunch. My DD didn't really like any of the food choices (other than the chicken fingers for one of them) and asked if we could eat at the hotel. We stayed at RPR and they love the food there!

When we go in 2010 we won't be doing the meal deal!

The restaurants on the standard plan are counter service restuarants with just your standard theme park food. There is much, much better food to be had at the parks and Citywalk than what is available through the plan.

I haven't seen the table service plan but for $35/person I think it is kinda steep. Do you have the link to this plan? I'm not sure what it includes.

To me its only worth it if the crowds are low AND I arrive early in the day....

ditto... if crowds are high, the food lines are very long too. Some places have a Meal Deal Line Only.. and that stinks. Those lines are super long. You can wait on there as long as you can for a ride :scared1: On New Years Day, me, my sister and her two DD's did MIB singles while my DD & her friend went to get food. We were off the ride and walked down to the International Food Court before they were off the food line :sad2: and trust me, we had a wait on the singles line since they were only using one track to load for singles :-)confused3 ).

Unless your big eaters, then yes.If not then no..

You would be really surprised at how reasoable the prices are at all the restraunts are at the parks!!

The sipper cup is a deal, dont pass that up..:thumbsup2
