Hi everyone! My dh and I are thinking of visiting IOA/US in Sept or Oct. We have two little ones, DD5 (who wil be 6 by then) and DD2.
1. When is the best time to go with not a lot of wait time?
2. What is there to do with my little one, if anything?
3. What would be the best place to stay?
4. What are the best rides for my soon to be 6yo? She loves to ride, but nothing upside down and nothing dark and scary!
My dh and I haven't been since about 2000, and I just don't know what is there and what we need to plan on doing. All we did while we were there was coasters, we did not have any kids!;) ANy help, suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! TIA

Second week in September has been great for us. Last trip at that time was 9/11-9/15 and the parks were mostly our own playground :worship:
2. What is there to do with my little one, if anything?
There are quite a few play areas in both parks. Both Seuss Landing and Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone are great for kids. And it should be warm enough to enjoy the water features in Woody's as well. Barney is still there, as is ET.
3. What would be the best place to stay?
Any of the three UO resorts are great, but I love Portofino. Kids love the Beach Pool, and the luxurious comforts of the resort are awesome for Mom and Dad :thumbsup2 .
4. What are the best rides for my soon to be 6yo? She loves to ride, but nothing upside down and nothing dark and scary!
All the rides in Seuss Landing and in the Kidzone area (Woody coaster :thumbsup2 ) are great for kids of that age. So is Shrek and Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast. If she is not afraid of heights, Pteranodon Flyers is usually a hit, but the lines can get long. Hit this one early.

See comments in red above.
Plan to do at least one really nice meal while there, as UO has some awesome restaurants. In the parks, the best is Mythos. I love Mama Della's at Portofino (I have a reservation for this coming Tuesday!), and I also like Emeril's Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific. In Citywalk, I like Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. Make sure you take time to enjoy the grounds, as some of the best sites are outside the parks in the areas around the hotels and along the canals that lead from the hotels to Citywalk.
Hope you have a great trip.

You might want to research the ET ride too. It does have some dark areas with car headlights suddenly stopping in front of you but it's all in all a rather sweet ride. There at least used to be the Animal Planet show too.

Thanks everyone for the info and the links!:thumbsup2 I think we have decided to go in Sept., so I need to start planning! Thanks again!
