DVC Resort with best bus transportation to parks

I've read some horror stories about the bus transportation to/from the parks from some of the DVC resorts (BWV/BCV in particular). Which resorts seem to have the best/worst transportation? Particularly interested in bus service to MK.

well when it opens BLT - you can walk or take the monrail.

at present - VWL - you can boat or take the bus. the bus is faster.

You'll hear horror stories about bus transportation from all of the resorts, DVC or not.

You'll also hear glowing reports about bus transportation from all of the resorts, DVC or not.

IMHO, none of them are any worse than the others. As the saying goes, "you pays your money and you takes your chances".

I agree with this. We've had good and bad experiences with buses at all the resorts. ::yes:: The BWV/BCV issue is specific to those resorts because you have 5 resorts sharing one bus route. But even that is hit or miss on the crowding issue.

Do the 5 Epcot area resorts always share a bus? What order do they pick up?

Depends on the season. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

In my opinion, the Epcot resort buses are the worse. Followed by the monorail resorts. AK/AKV, SSR and OKW are about equal with bus service, and the most consistent.....But these are my opinion and not fact.

We were at BWV last week, and sometimes buses went to all 5 and sometimes they were broken up, BC/YC and BW/S/D. Even when it was all 5 on the route, I hadn't had any horror stories...well a 40 minute wait at AK, but then 2 buses came, someone must check by "averages" which really isn't how it should be done!:goodvibes

I do have to say, on a BWV stay I was very disapointed at first that the MK busses were shared with the S/D (The combination of us running a little late, then finding out that the hotel ticket concierge could not issue AP's and the bus also stopping at S/D caused us to miss our late Crystal Palace breakfast reservation) In reality, this issue was 100% my lack of knowledge of how the systems worked. Arming yourself with some knowledge is the best hedge against a disapointing trip...

The MK is our favorite park, so we do go there most often. By the end of the BWV trip (and having experienced the wonderfully relaxed bus rides to EPCOT, DHS, and BCV (for dining) I was sold on the location of BWV. Overall, I gave the transportation an 'A' because having the variety of taking a boat is soooo much nicer than bus, bus, bus, bus.. :cool1:

or you do it my way.

at an Epcot resort - try to only go to Epcot and Studios - may visit AK.

when staying at VWL - go MK and Epcot - may again visit AK.

now once BLT is open can add it to the MK route.

for OKW and SSR just whatever park I am interested in - always go to DD from these.

Staying at AKV, we only had a lengthy wait once. Its a fairly long trip to anywhere, except the AK park, but we never felt overcrowded or over-burdened by the travel. Of course, we were there in early December when its not at its busiest.
