What building @ OKW

Are you booked in the Hospitality House catagory? If not, then ask for buildings 27, 28 or 29. That puts you near the Peninsular Road bus stop. I will warn you though that those buildings have absolutely NO view. They are hemmed in by tall vegetation to protect you from the very close fairway behind the buildings.

I'm not sure why the 1st bus stop is important to you. If it's because you want to be first off when coming back from the parks or if it's because you want to be closer to HH.

If you need to be first off, that's a good reason, but the second bus stop is our favorite, because it means we spend less time on the bus both directions. I guess if I really had a preference for specific bus stops, I'd probably want to be at the last one, not the first. The last one is Hospitality House, and that's also where the store, restaurant and main pool are.

Our favorite buildings are 45, 46, 55, 14, 15, 16, 18, and 20 of the ones we have stayed in so far. I don't care for the ones on Turtle Pond and buildings 28 and 29 are my least favorite of all.

Here's the map: The order of bus stops is, Peninsular Road, South Point, Turtule Pond, Miller's Road, and Hospitality House. The internal bus stops at HH both on the front and back ends of that route and continues on to DTD.

The area marked HH catagory is a specific booking catagory and NOT a request.

We have never stayed at OKW before and didn't know what to expect as far as the busses go. When we made the reservation at the 7 month window there was no availability at HH. I do like to be the first stop since we are sure to get a seat and will be first off at the end of the night. Why do you dislike 28 and 29? Is it because of the lack of a view?

I would suggest booking the HH category.

You can get off on the first stop and it is an easy and quite scenic walk back to your HH building!

Those two buildings feel hemmed in to me. If you happen to get building 29 and you are in a studio, you could be VERY close to the road and the bus noise as well. We had that one once too. I actually paid to change rooms that time.

I've never had a problem getting a seat going to the parks EXCEPT when we were staying at the Hospitality House catagory. Now coming home from the parks, we have often had to stand, but not going out. Many times you will be on the bus alone until you get to HH.

Standing on the bus at the end of the night is no big deal. I'm usually glad just to get on one:lmao: My concern was more of having busses pass us by in the morning because they were full.

Wont happen. I can't remember that happening in 12 years of staying at OKW!

Good to know. Thinking the only request we might make is to be on the ground floor and leave the rest up to fate.;)

The first stop depends on which resort bus you are on. They have different routes within the resort. For some buses Pennisular Rd is first, very close to HH, and for some the first stop is Miller Rd. We were there last week and found that the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios buses went to Pennisular Rd first. If you are using the buses to hop up to HH, it paid to figure out which route was the most direct, sometimes it was faster to walk!

I never make requests and just go with the flow and to date no dispointments. I've noticed differences in views, parking and bus service w/ each different area of OKW (we've been all over) we've stayed at but none have predicated me to make a request for or against a location on following stays.
Good luck and have fun!

NOT TRUE! All buses go the same route EXCEPT the internal bus, which does NOT go to any parks, but instead goes to DTD or keeps circulating the route. That bus stops at HH both coming in AND going out. All others stop at Peninsular road first followed by South POint, Turtle Pond, Miller's Road, and HH. Sometimes late in the day, the returning bus will do Miller's first if their's a log jam of buses, but that is not the norm.

Years ago, Miller's road was the first stop, but the only other time since then that I have seen that was a couple years ago when the HH area was torn up for rehab.

Maybe it was different for us since we were there the week of New Year's....I was just relaying what the driver of the Magic Kingdom bus told us and for that one week we found it to be accurate.....

We were staying at OKW back in October and on a couple of occasions the bus came in and went to Miller's Road first. The rest of the time they would go directly to Peninsular Road. Only once did a bus we were on returning from a park go to the HH first, which we thought was interesting. We have stayed at OKW since 2004.
