My daughter is in the park until thursday and just called from Animal Kingdom and she has lost her wallet. Unfortunately, it had her money, her debit card, and both of her ID's. We are in CT - trying to figure this out.
If anyone found a small vera bradley brown and blue id holder/wallet today in Animal Kingdom - let me know, or turn it in to guest relations - she's staying at BWV.
Also - if anyone has info about getting money to her/ wiring money to the hotel or such - could you fill me in?
And - most importantly - any ideas about what we can do to get her ID for her trip home? Thinking I'll have to fedex her passport to her? They don't leave until Thursday afternoon.
Thanks so much to all!

SHe can get through security without any ID. It's just going to be a hassle. You go to the airline and confess. You then get the SSSS on your boarding pass. You will be searched, your carryon will be searched, your luggage will be searched and of course since the TSA lives in some world where terrorists ANNOUNCE themselves this way you may be treated like a criminal. (Of course that could happen because you just get the TSA "jerk of the day" anyway)

Now, seriously if you were a terrorist would you do this? NO, you would show up with a FAKE ID, but.....

I assume she has talked to Lost and Found at the parks?

She did talk to Guest Services - they were wonderful - called around to all of the rides/places they had gone since she last remembered using her wallet.
They told her that most items get turned in at the end of the day and they don't keep them there - they are sent to a central lost and found at TTC - but sometimes it takes a couple of days to get there. So - she may be gone before it arrives.
Next step for me is to investigate what TTC does with things if the person has already gone home - hoping they contact us to arrange to get it back to us, but we'll see.
Lesson learned - at least one form of ID needs to stay in the safe at the hotel. Typically we travel with our passports and those stay in the hotel safe. She used her license - and it lives in her wallet, so that's where it stayed.
We'll have a fun trip to motor vehicles when she gets home to get a new ID - yippee!!

Well.... as the voice of expereince. I once lost a cell phone at AK. Several days after I returned my mother got a phone call. The very nice CM on the phone explained that she had my phone and had pushed the auto dail labeled "mom" So my mother gave her all the info and my phone was delivered :lmao: Of course, my mother did did panic and call to be sure I really lost the phone and this wasn't some crank call, but... it wasn't. (I was busted, I had "failed" to mention to my family that I was going to Disney AGAIN!)

my son lost his brand new cell phone Nov. 07 and it was turned into lost and found over by the kennel. We were so happy. This past summer he lost his case for it and we went to check for it....they had a bunch of cases but not his. I hope you dd finds it. Good Luck. :goodvibes

Don't give up hope as I've had my purse turned into GS at DLR. We were having dinner and my niece was acting up, so we went to leave and I left the purse in the booth. A nice gentleman turned it into guest services, nothing missing.

I've also had my cell phone lost on BTMRR and a CM walked the track after closing and found it for me. I kept calling it from my DH phone and when the CM found it he answered by saying...This is xxxx and I'm your hero! Boy was he as that was on a trip with 25 family members that I organized.

We were just there over the New Year....and on Jan. 1 at DTD my 18 yr. old son...either lost his wallet or got it stolen. So here we are on the phone on Jan. 1 at 11:00 p.m. to cancel his debit card and one credit card.

Got home Sunday night, took him down to DPS on Monday for his DL. I called Disney's Lost and Found but no such luck. Hope yours ends up better.

Good luck to your daughter. I found two wallets on one trip and turned them both in, so don't give up hope!

Have faith - the money may not be there when she gets it back but surely she will get the rest. I went on a cruise several years ago and I lost my wallet on a ship guided tour for cave tubing...I lost my husband and I's ship card, driver's licenses and debit card. They almost did not let us board the ship, but ran through several questions pertinent to our shipboard account and then allowed us back on...gave us new ship cards, etc. Coming home was quite a chore as customs gave us heck about not having any photo ID's. Much explanation involved with that...

Well, guess what I got in the mail more than 6 months later??? Yup - it was our ship cards and our licenses and my debit card...in pretty bad shape, but returned nonetheless. It was wild...

Faith and Pixie Dust to you!! Two years ago, we were having ice cream in the MK and dd6 left her purse with wallet w/disney dollars and money, id, park ticket and room key in it on the chair. It found its way to the Lost and Found by the kennels and everything was still in it. This was two days later, our last day. We of course, replaced the ticket and had the room keys re-coded.

I had my beach bag taken - 3 pairs of googles, swim toys, and 2 library books on 12/30. I have put in report to MK central Lost and Found, but they didn't find it yet......

Waaah, GOldi

THIS IS REALLY GOOD AND GREAT INFORMATION TO KNOW!!!

I lost my bag at Casey's in MK. They sent it to City Hall, and I retrieved it there.

Also, we stayed at Pop once and weeks later got a call about an item that we left behind in our room. I had no idea what it was and they said that they would mail it to me free of charge. the package came and it was my eldest son's t-shirt. He didn't even realize that he lost it.

Boy I left my backpack bag at Caseys also and remembered in less than 5 min and it had already been turned in and I beat it to City Hall....but now as uncool as it is wear a fanny pack that I don't take off, with my ticket, ID and credit card.

I have had 2 experiences of loosing things at WDW. Once I lost my wallet after Wishes on the bus back to our resort. I spent the next morning cancelling multiple credits cards (I learned to never carry more than one on that trip) while everyone else explored DTD. Months, (yes months) later I received it in the mail totally intact - all the money, credit cards everything was there.
Another time I lost my work beeper in the ESPN Zone. (I was at the Boardwalk to eat while I was in the area for a conference.) Again weeks later it was returned to me. They tracked me down through the service provider.
Both times items were returned to me at Disney's expense.
Good things do happen.
Good Luck

I also wanted to mention that she might want to be sure and watch her accout even if the wallet & cards are all returned quickly. I had a dear friend lose her wallet, but recovered it within a day or so (not at Disney)...she never reported it missing...someone had used her debit/credit card before she had gotten it back and she was held responsible for those charges (even with copies of receipts from stores and signatures which clearly were not hers on them.

Sorry I don't know how to get money to her quickly.I would assume she'd need an ID to retireve money from Wester Union or a wire anywhere, but I don't know for sure. But I do believe if there is a will there is a way and surely, this can't be the first time this has happened to someone at Disney. Hopefully someone can help you or maybe a CM at the resort will have a good idea.

Well, we canceled the debit card this morning (had moved all of the money out of the account last night so it couldn't be accessed, but were hoping not to have to cancel the card). She got her fedex with passport, some cash, and her check book. We were able to add our credit card to her room key so she could use that for charging (and as ID for writing up to $50 checks at the resort per day). She hadn't had a credit card tied to her room key - she doesn't have a credit card of her own, and figured she'd be fine with just debit card.

She called about 10 minutes ago. A CM knocked on the door a few minutes before and had her wallet! Everything is still inside (including the cash). He told them that someone turned it in at the front desk. Unfortunately, no word who the angel was who returned it, so we can't thank them personally. Will just have to pay the act of kindness forward the next time we are in the situation to do so.

Didn't talk to her for long, but I'm guessing the room key (which was in the wallet) must say Boardwalk Villas on it (can't remember if they say the name of the resort) and that's how they knew where to bring it... I'll have to ask her in the morning. (Just looked - no resort name on the old keys I have here... wonder how they found her?)

You all were right about pixie dust making people behave the way we all should behave every day.

Thanks again for the helpful info and good thoughts!

That is great news that she got everything back! Shame you had to close out the bank account, but always better safe than sorry!

For future reference for anyone who ever ends up in this situation and needs to get cash wired to them. You can get cash from Western Union without ID. What they do is set up a Q&A with the sender and recipient. The sender indicates a question to be asked and the correct answer. If the recipient answers correctly, they can get their money.

One other piece of information - we spoke with front desk at BWV - they don't have Western Union service there, and they told us there is no Western Union service within Disney. As my daughter used magical express and had no transportation out of Disney - wiring money wasn't an option.

Do they have Money Express? With them as well as Western Union, you can give a "question" that the receiver must give the "answer" both of which you give at time of sending money- Wal-Mart has the Money service- if she can get someone to give her a ride or if anyone is with her who can get her a taxi... of course, I would call Wal-Mart first but if you send from your home town Wal-mart they should be able to get it there- Hopefully, you all are able to find a solution- We will pray it is returned somewhere before she leaves- Terrible to be in the "Happiest Place on Earth" and not have any funds to "splurge" a bit- Good Luck with it all!
