I've been having a hard time finding a decent price for our Jan. 29th - Feb. 7th trip ($300-$400 range w/ taxes).

Checked Dollar and was able to get $114 per week for a compact (a little option pops up for 'city specials'). Total of $228 including taxes and our extra days.

So check out dollar.com if you're looking....

A mid size though Advantage www.advantage.com which requires a shuttle is $207.59 including taxes.

Be sure to check Hurtz simply wheelz as well. We've had a few reservations made and cancelled through Budget and thrifty and one other. We are down to about $250 total for 14 nights (Jan 27th - Feb 10th). Yep, that's with taxes and fees for a compact.

Tried codes and they either didn't help or raised the price. When getting the list of vehicles I get a button that says "check for city specials" (which took a few $$ of select vehicles).

dmrick: I can't get past the "enter location" on the simply wheelz web site. Maybe they are OUT of cars at this location? Not sure?

Mickeymouse1- I'll go back to dollar and try this again. Thanks.

I'm just having a frustrating time with rentals this time. I'm sure it has alot to do with it being spring break dates too. March 7-14.

I just booked with Alamo using the WalMart code 430710 from Mousesavers and a $25 off coupon. My total was $170.11(Economy) for Feb 6th-18th.

I got Thrifty (pickup at Sanford) for $148 (before taxes, etc) for jan 30 - Feb 06

Just for fun,(I'm having a hard time getting to bed tonight...lol!) I just put in your dates at alamo, clicking on their $25 off coupon, using code 489304 (its a BJ's wholesale code) picking up at 9:30 (I wanted to go early) and dropping off at 4:00) and the total including taxes, fees, and additional driver came to $179.92.
I think the next size up would only be $10 more. HTH!

I just did your time and it was $182 ($246 total) a week for a compact up to an intermediate. I don't know why it wouldn't let you fill it out. But it is expensive that week.

Well, I switched again. I've had more rental cars this trip than any other time.We went to Alamo now that they lowered their prices for our week. For two full weeks, our total is $247.01 (with taxes, etc). I prefer renting at the airport and not taking a shuttle, so with the price the same, it made sense to change.

We'll be using the Kiosk..is that in the airport or in the garage? Do they line their cars up like National, and we just go to the Economy aisle?
Thanks.

The kiosk is right at the Alamo counter in the airport. If you have rented an economy car then go to that aisle and pick your car.
One other thing........I have been told, there are no economy cars, you will be directed to a compact aisle, have no idea how true this is.
Someone here will know for sure.

is there such a thing? i have coupons from Sams club but is there a standard code if your belong? I see a membership rate/code section.

Yup, I noticed Alamo dropped their rates yesterday sometime. In the morning it was coming up $430 for our dates, in the afternoon, I booked with Costco discount and coupon for about $175. I prefer Alamo, using the kiosk to rent at MCO skips the line, and the up-sale for insurance, gas, etc.

Quite a game they play with prices.....

When my Dad and I were in Orlando in early December there was no economy row at Alamo.I know this because we walked up and down every aisle looking for it.Finally, my Dad went to the Alamo office in the garage and they told him we needed to take a car from the compact aisle. We had checked in at the kiosk and did not realize this.:)
