We'll be leaving DD at the Neverland Club, which opens at 4:00, then going to HDDR at 5:00. We'll have already picked up our tickets and aren't interested in the pre-show photo. So, we need to be at Pioneer Hall by a couple of minutes to 5:00.

I know I can monorail or bus to MK and boat to FW from there. In the afternoons I think the boat stops at WL before FW, or at least it used to. I'm worried I won't make it.

Should I taxi to WL and boat to FW from there? Would that save any time do you think?

I know if I taxi to FW directly I'll end up at the front end and need to take an internal bus to Pioneer Hall, so I don't think that would be the fastest way.

If by DD you mean Downtown Disney, there is no bus from DD to the MK or to the TTC.

WDW Watercraft routes changed in Nov. 2007 and the FWC now has dedicated boat service from the MK to the FWC.

Also, Blue flag motor launches serve the FWC, CR and WL on Bay Lake.

If you're leaving DD at 4pm, you'll be cutting it close to get to the HDDR by 5pm exclusively using WDW transportation.

Suggest taking a taxi to the WL and the Blue flag launch to the FWC and leaving DD 30 minutes earlier to allow for any wait times for transportation.

Oh, DD is my daughter. We're leaving her at the Neverland Club, Poly's kids club, at 4:00. They don't open until 4:00 so we can't leave her any earlier than that. We should be out and on our way by 4:05. The taxis are right there next to the kids club entrance, so if we took a taxi it would only take a minute. The monorail entrance is nearby too, so we could be waiting for one within a couple of minutes.

I didn't know FW had its own boat now.

I still think we should probably do the taxi. The CM who booked it (Neverland and HDDR) this way assured me we would make it. I'm not so sure.

We have approximately 55 minutes to allow for travel. Either monorail from the Poly to MK and boat to FW, or taxi from the Poly to WL and boat to FW from there. We could also taxi to FW and take the internal bus to Pioneer Hall.

We've done the monorail/boat before, but never when we were so short on time. The last time we stayed at WL the MK boat went to both WL and FW, and then there was the resort boat too that went between CR, WL and FW. Now that there's only the one boat between them I'm not sure how fast that would be, with one less option.

DD was originally on the HDDR reservation, but she really doesn't want to go. To change HDDR to the 7:15 show now, well, there's only one night left with any seats and that would be category 3, and not on an ideal night either. So we opted to remove DD from the reservation and book her into Neverland Club instead, at the suggestion of the CM I spoke with.

I can send my mom and DS on to HDDR while I drop off DD, so they'll be there in time. I'm afraid I won't make it though. Ugh. :headache:

Endevour is right about cutting it close, I would make just one change to his taxi/boat route though. Take the taxi to WL, but instead of walking through the lobby then down the boardwalk to the dock, walk over to the bus stop and board the bus to FW(this is a regular part of the FW internal Orange route). The bus stop at FW is about the same distance from HDDR as the FW dock. The boat ride is very nice, but if you are pressed for time the distance from the taxi drop off to the boat is a fair walk, the buses are closer.

Or just take the cab all the way to FW and take the internal shuttle. They anticipate the people for the HDDR and are really efficient. When we left the 7:15 show in early Dec. they had busses right outside the restaurant for each hotel. You didn't have to take an internal shuttle, just get on the bus for your resort.

So the taxi from the Poly would take me to the FW outpost? And I'd take the internal bus from there to the stop near Pioneer Hall? The taxi ride should only be maybe 10-15 minutes I think. That would allow me 40 minutes to get from the outpost to Pioneer Hall.

MK closes at 8:00 that night. The 5:00 show would let out around 6:45 if I remember correctly. I don't think they had buses the last time we did the 5:00 show, but I'm not positive. We took the boat back to MK. If I could bus right to the Poly that would be great. If not I was planning to boat to MK, monorail to the Poly, and taxi back to BCV. We would probably have time to monorail back to MK and bus to BCV, but that seems like too much trouble. I guess I could see how things were going and decide at the time.

I'm not so worried about the return. I'm concerned about getting to the show on time.

The only disadvantage to going to FW directly instead of going to WL is the number of stops on the bus. From Outpost(FW) you would take the yellow or purple internal routes(NOT ORANGE, that route has changed and takes waayy to long to get to Settlement), that would be 3 or more stops between you and the HDDR. If you go to WL(taxi ride may be shorter but not by enough to worry about) FW(Settlement) is the very next stop, so the trip is much shorter.

Buses directly to the resorts are provided after the 7:15 and 9:30 show, not for the 5pm show. There are signs at the FW dock stating as much. This may change if MK is closed early.

Thank you so much! I didn't know the WL bus would go directly to the settlement rather than the outpost. We've visited FW many times but only by boat. I've never used the buses there.

I just left FW on Tuesday. Please know though, Disney is tweeking the FW internal routes, there was a change to the purple route earlier this year that has been reversed. Right now the orange route(this is the bus that travels to/from FW/WL) is slightly different than it was when we were there in October, this change does not affect getting from WL to FW though. ALWAYS, check with the bus drivers for the most current info if you are confused or in doubt.
This seemed to be a very recent change and the bus marquee was not always updating, you will want a bus that says FW or anything with Orange(could be Settlement or Outpost or Meadows right now). It should say FW and will be at stop 1, but as I said they were still working with the marquee on Dec 30th.
