What is in your carry on?

We are taking the Magical Express to the Pop the night before our cruise in Feb. :cool1: I'm putting together a newsletter for my parents (the trip is their birthday gift to each other :woohoo: WAY TO GO DAD!) Since we are taking the ME...I know we won't see our luggage right away. So, what do you bring with you in your carry on? Please keep in mind, that it will be snowing when we leave and obviously (hopefully) warm/hotter than we are use to at our destination. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I layer my clothes so I have on a tshirt underneath..and put in my carryon..shorts ,flipflops,undies,swimsuit,toothbrush,travel toothpaste and sunscreen,medications I need ..

:thumbsup2 this is what I do, too.
also, I pack pjs, fresh underthings; a Ziplock chargers for cell phones, cameras etc. I also tote some precut moleskin & earplugs.
I do leave all the labels on our meds both perscriptions & OTC.

I also carry a BIG purse--still fits under the seat-- with my filled qt liquids baggie (makeup plus Purell); complete make up; fanny pack/Baggalini;
all confirmation numbers for rooms, ADRs, car rental etc as well as touring plan; reading material; cell phone; camera; sunglasses;

As for layering my clothes, it's snowy/cold here in NH, too, so I'll wear a light colored cotton turtleneck (can use @ WDW if it gets chilly) under a pale yellow cotton tunic sweater topped off by an all season coat w/a zip out lining. I bring those cheap little stretchy gloves in black for everyone, too.

DH & DS usually wear heavy sweatshirts with collared polo shirts underneath & jeans.

Even if we have to wait for the airport parking lot shuttle, it's never a long wait, so we just don't put on winter coats even when it is below zero

I always make sure to check the airlines website about a month before our trip to be sure the carry on number & size limits have not changed. I check again 48 hrs before we leave.

We use carry-ons only!!!! We usually wash our clothes there-so we only pack enough for about 3 days-all our toiletries fit fine in our ziploc 3-1-1. We usually bring laundry det. I have been trying to find the powder tablets-I don't think they make them anymore so I have a 3oz clear bottle from Walmart & fill it w/ detergent, & medications along too. There are 4-5 in our party & we just spread the stuff between ziploc bags. Anything we but we either try it in our bags or ship it home-especially the breakable stuff. Kids pack their backpacks just fine. This also allows alot less stuff we don't need-kids toys-etc. We've been doing this the past 4 trips & it's great! We also check the weather channel before we leave so we are prepared!!!

WOW! You get a lot in on your carry on and purse! DF would kill me! He knows he will probably be carrying some of this stuff too. You've given me some ideas for what I need to pack though-thanks!

I wish we could do this...we are going on a 3 day DCL cruise-so this really isn't much of an option. bummer though-it would be so much easier!

When leaving cold weather and going to hot weather, I pack my coat, gloves, hat, etc. in my checked luggage. When coming home, I carry it on. My theory is, if my luggage gets misplaced on the way down, I have a while to track down my things; if it gets misplaced on the way home, I'll have to travel through the snow with no outer wear.

In terms of what is in my carry on:
-any medications I need
-change of socks/underwear
-clean shirt
-laptop (if bringing)
-reading material for plane
-IPOD for plane
-snacks for plane
-spare contacts

I sometimes include toothbrush etc. but mainly assume that I can find ones if needed. I don't bring the change of clothes when coming home.

In my carryon is laptop, camera, cell phone, various chargers and cables, confirmations, etc, my ziploc of 3oz items (shampoo, a couple of sunscreens, toothpaste) dry toiletries, (toothbrush, razor, deoderant) a pair of pajamas, clothes/underwear for the next day, quarters for laundry, and my slippers.

In DH's carryon is a CPAP machine, cell phone, camera, various chargers and cables, his ziploc of 3oz items (shampoo, a couple of sunscreens, shaving cream, toothpaste), dry toiletries, (toothbrush, razor, deoderant, comb, brush), a pair of pajamas, clothes/underwear for the next day, prescription medication, and his slippers.

Of course we have our wallets and money in pockets on us and they get tucked in a corner of the carryons as we go through security

The rest of our clothing, a bottle of laundry detergent, dryer sheets, large bottles of toiletries, and any other "stuff" all go in our checked luggage.

We also bring an ECV with us which doesn't count in our luggage count, and there is a small empty cooler filled with rain ponchos and the cover for the ECV attached to that. That is counted as our personal item for security, but we leave it attached to the ECV when it is loaded on the plane, so it goes underneath the plane
