Can You Get Cabs On Property? I See Them At The Parks.
How Do I Go About Using Them. From Cbr To Ttc Or Epcot Etc...
Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

Cab's are readily available at just about any location on property. The only tricky place is the MK, where the cabs are near the TTC so you have to take the monorail or ferry from the MK to the TTC.

Better idea is to take the cab to one of the Magic Kingdom resorts...Contemporary, Poly or Grand Floridian and take the monorail or boat.

I just got back and we used a cab several times (from Epcot, Downtown Disney and from the hotels that we stayed at). We had no problem getting a cab at Epcot or Downtown Disney (plentiful at both places), but we had to have bell services call for one every time we left the hotel, and a few times we had to wait 15 minutes, so just be prepared.

thanks. which monorail resort would be closest/cheapest to CBR??

Either Contemporary or Poly...traffic into the Contemporary might be easier than Poly. We found that out on 4th of July...Magic Kingdom parking lot and drop off takes the same left turn as the road to Poly and Grand Floridian...so the Contemporary would have been easier...less wait time in the cab so less cost. Oh, well...live and learn..lol

And in case you are at a park and dont see the cabs or there are none there, call mears and they will hook you up, they are the offical cabs of WDW..1-407-422-2222.

I would walk (or take the monorail) to the Cont and then a cab from there. We take alot of cabs if we stay until park closing, I hate waiting with that many people for a bus.

Just a thing to remember too is we took a cab from the Pop to Epcot and when they pulled in at the ticket booth they were going to charge the cab something like $15 for entering the property. I told them we were staying onsite and showed them our keycard and they waived the fee. This was our first time using a cab so I am not sure if that was just a fluky thing or not.

Were you in a mears cab or another company? I'm guessing another company. That's where you have to be careful about 'gypsy' cabs.

I am not sure but the people at Pop were the ones to call them. But it was really weird because the driver looked at me funny when I told them I was staying on site and we should not have to pay any extra fees. Which to me he should have known this since he picked us up there.:confused3

Yea, that is wierd, maybe someone with a little more info will pipe up and fill us both in :)

This is interesting because we stayed at the All Star Movies and the people at the front desk there told us that Disney doesn't have or allow cabs on property so there was no way they could help with us getting transportation to things off Disney property.

They also said they only have one car rental place (Alamo) in all of Disney and that there was only one location on Disney property that you could get a rental car from and that was way over on another part of the park that you would have to take a car to get to the desk.

So they said there was nothing they could do to help us and walked away.

Complete misinformation! I have used cabs many times. I have gotten them at resorts and at the parks - they are a great back-up to Disney transportation, and way cheaper than renting a minivan for the week if you only use them a few times.

I wonder why they said that?

Never know....could just be who ever was working just didn't feel like dealing with it.:confused3

But at least we know now thanks to everyone here.:lovestruc

We were thinking of getting a car but geeze is that expensive.

Since we are staying 10 days and want to get to Universal and Sea World we will defiantly be needing a taxi or car service.

We'll be at the POP from 1/7 to 1/12 then skipping over to POR till the 19th.

When I was at pop, there was a cab sitting down close to the luggage services area. If there isnt one there, bell services can get you on. Just ask one of the CM's outside or at the luggage area, they'll hook you up.
or as I said, call the number I listed and they'll send a cab.

So I should have no trouble getting a cab after a concert at the House of Blues in Downtown Disney?

I will not be driving home after that show! :thumbsup2

I had to take a cab last year to an early morning character breakfast at another resort. The CM had originally told me that there was a "character" bus that would transport me to the resort. Well now I know there is no such bus! So when I went into the lobby and spoke to the CM she admitted her mistake, called a cab and allowed me to be reimbersed (sp) for the cab fare! I think that I will use a cab this year for my character breakfasts at other resorts. It is so much easier than going to a park and taking another bus.
