Any photos of Chip N' Dale Campfire Singalong?

Would you recommend going to the Campfire Singalong?

  • Yes, definitely!

  • Sure, if you have the time but otherwise skip it.

  • No, it was not what I expected.

Hi,

I am thinking about taking my kids DS12 and DD5 to the Chip N' Dale Campfire Singalong in June when we are there. I would love to get reviews and see pictures from anyone that has actually attended it.

I couldn't find any photos or a detailed review on the Disney Camping forum. So, if there is information there, I just couldn't find it.

From what I gather it starts around 7:30. Do they show the movie first or do the sing-along?

I thought we could also stay for the water parade.

Your children will love the Chip 'n Dale campfire singalong! We were there the week of Halloween this year, and our 4YO DD really loved it. We were actually selected for YOMD during the singalong - we got to go backstage and meet Chip 'n Dale, get their autographs, and our DD got to escort them to the stage. It was a truly magical experience.
The campfire is really fantastic - the man that does the singalong is FUNNY and he sings a variety of different songs; some Disney songs, other typical children's songs (she'll be coming 'round the mountain, etc). DH and I had just as much fun as DD.
I have pictures, can't remember how to post them. Will try to figure it out but worst case scenrio will post a link.

I am curious for the move?

Since the campfire singalong is open to ALL resort guests and not just those camping at Fort Wilderness, I posted the thread on the Disney Resorts forum.
I figured there are many people that go to the campfire that do not camp.

Thank you to Stinkerbelle1973 for the recommendation. It looks like a lot of fun.

If you look here on the camping board at the Fort FAQ you will find facts about the campfire. We have been many many times and consider it a big part of our stay at WDW. Its just good relaxing fun.
In my signature line is a pic of the greatest campfire cast member ever to grace the stage at the "theater under the stars". Her name is Ms Sundee and unfortunately for us Fort guests, she now performs at Saratoga. Seriously there are many talented cast members and I enjoy everyone.

I fully expected the sing-a-long to be a bust with DW. She is a little too serious to have fun sometimes, and I expected this to be one of them. We went on our next-to-last night and hauled our own chairs for maximum comfort (i.e. favorable reception). We arrived just as the sing-a-long was starting and bought some of the pricey dogs. But we had a very nice time sans kids, and even made a list of things to bring next time to make the evening better next time!

Me and the DW go every trip watch the movie and make smores. Just remember to bring your beer.

Sorry I didn't complete my thought last night, had to run. Anyhow, we really enjoyed the sing-a-long even though it is aimed at kids. We enjoyed the campfires, even though we didn't have anything to roast. And the movie projection and sound was good enough that, were they showing something you wanted to watch, it would be enjoyable (DW didn't care to watch A Muppet Christmas, so we hung out fireside and chatted with other disinterested adults). In future, we will bring stadium seats instead of folding chairs, as they are easier to tote. We will also bring skewers to roast our own hotdogs (which means bringing buns and condiments, as well), bevies, and smores fixings. We will bring a real camera and flash to get pics with the chipmunks. And we will be more mindful of when the better movies are playing... we had two opportunities to see the Santa Clause, but missed them.

Ultimately I think folks who enjoy the Hoop Dee Doo (or Jungle Cruise, for that matter) will also enjoy the sing-a-long... which is to say, if you can let go of your serious side and embrace a little corniness for the sake of a good time, you can have a blast.

I really appreciate the reviews and those that voted. It appears to be something the kids and I will really like. So, I will make sure to reserve a night for the activity on our future trip.

Thanks for the suggestions on what to bring! :thumbsup2

Well put :thumbsup2 I think that works for a lot of WDW. Some times you have to forget your grown and remember what it was like to be a kid.

My family enjoyed it! My DD's were looking forward to roasting marshmellows and watching a movie outside the whole day!!! It was actually a relaxing end to a hectic day!!!
