This Holiday season, Marc and I decided to start a new tradition of our own. We decided to have *Our Last Name*'s 12 Days of Christmas.
We started on Friday December 12th, each day we would have some kind of Holiday activity. I wanted to share them with all of my readers.
1st Day of Christmas:
We set up our mini Christmas Tree.
2nd Day of Christmas:
We braved the holiday shopping crowds and did some Christmas shopping. We also found the cutest angel topper for our tree. It's actually an ornament but it's the perfect size!
3rd Day of Christmas:
We strung popcorn and cranberries while we watched "Surviving Christmas" with Ben Affleck, James Gandolfini, Christina Applegate and Catherine O'hara. We love this movie for some reason, we watched it last year too.
4th Day of Christmas:
We watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas" & "Mickey's Christmas Carol." I just adore both of these Christmas specials.
I love how they incorporate all the Disney characters into this movie.
5th Day of Christmas:
We put a Christmas sweater on Ruby and laughed at her.
Trying to get it off.
6th Day of Christmas:
We made paper snowflakes.
See my attempt at a Hidden Mickey? I think it looks like a sad bunny rabbit.
7th Day of Christmas:
Marc put together our Gingerbread Tree and we watched the Jim Carrey version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".
8th Day of Christmas:
Decorated our Gingerbread Tree. Now we went off how it looked on the box per Marc's request. I don't think it came out great. Next year we will do it differently!
So that is what we have done so far. This is what we plan to do.
9th Day of Christmas:
Family Christmas Party at my Mom & Dad's. This is with my mom's side of the family and we do a gift exchange. We are playing a game with the exchange and I have come up with 50 questions.
10th Day of Christmas:
Christmas Photo of Marc, Myself and the kitties.
11th Day of Christmas:
We are going to watch two movies. "The Christmas Shoes" and "The Christmas Blessing". Marc hasn't seen either of them. They are very good Christmas movies.
12th Day of Christmas:
Hang our stockings.
That will bring us to Christmas Eve which we are spending with Marc's family. We are doing a seafood dinner and exchanging gifts. Marc and I are bringing a seafood bisque and a apple/gorgonzola salad. His brother is making some kind of shrimp and crab rangoons. MIL and FIL are doing dessert and rolls. We all wanted to start our our Christmas Eve traditions with the inlaws, usually they have a their huge family christmas party with FIL's side so this is the first year in 20 years that they are spending Christmas Eve with just the immediate family if that makes sense. I am so happy that MIL was open to a non-traditional meal, I think it will make our new traditions even more special.
Christmas Day is spent at my parents house. Where my brother and I will fight over me watching the Disney Christmas Parade. Christmas Day wouldn't be complete without Tim making fun of my love of everything Disney!
Then my mom makes the most delicious meal of Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, Carrots with Bacon, Rolls, Mashed Potatoes and believe it or not I don't know what she is making for dessert this year. Usually we have cheesecake but we haven't talked about it. I must do that tomorrow!
So there you have it. Our Christmas traditions.
And to keep this post on topic.....Only 155 Days until Disney!!
Here is what the Countdown Calender is looking like. Oh and the title of my countdown masterpiece is...
"What We Love About Disney"
