Supercallifragilistic-ADR'sApproachUs! May '09 PTR *Trip Report has Begun! Pg. 208*

I read your latest plans...do you enjoy parades? For some reason I only enjoy the nighttime shows...the parades during the day just aren't magical to me? Isn't that weird???

Did you see FOTLK before? It's FABULOUS!!! You have to see it.

Oh sure, sure.

Slough of my suggestions to the last days. ;)
We'll see. I don't have the brain power to itineriaze tonight. :lmao:

Ack LL I am so behind on your pre-TR (and everyone else's I've been following)! Just popping over to say HI and I can't wait to catch up on all your planning next week while I am on vaaaaacation!! :surfweb:
No worries! Hi! I've been missing the updates on your TR! Do you have your next trip planned yet? ;)

I do enjoy parades in general, but I have NEVER seen any of this Daytime Disney parades! :scared1: I would like to remedy that.

I'm so glad you used opentable for a RR ressie. I ate there in 2006 and really LOVED it. :goodvibes
It was so easy and fun! At least I can eat there every night if we aren't able to make other ADR's. :rotfl:

This Holiday season, Marc and I decided to start a new tradition of our own. We decided to have *Our Last Name*'s 12 Days of Christmas.

We started on Friday December 12th, each day we would have some kind of Holiday activity. I wanted to share them with all of my readers.

1st Day of Christmas:
We set up our mini Christmas Tree.

2nd Day of Christmas:
We braved the holiday shopping crowds and did some Christmas shopping. We also found the cutest angel topper for our tree. It's actually an ornament but it's the perfect size!

3rd Day of Christmas:
We strung popcorn and cranberries while we watched "Surviving Christmas" with Ben Affleck, James Gandolfini, Christina Applegate and Catherine O'hara. We love this movie for some reason, we watched it last year too.

439706807_tqPMz-M.jpg

4th Day of Christmas:
We watched "A Charlie Brown Christmas" & "Mickey's Christmas Carol." I just adore both of these Christmas specials.

I love how they incorporate all the Disney characters into this movie.

5th Day of Christmas:
We put a Christmas sweater on Ruby and laughed at her.

Trying to get it off.

6th Day of Christmas:
We made paper snowflakes.

439706071_HZziU-M.jpg

See my attempt at a Hidden Mickey? I think it looks like a sad bunny rabbit. :lmao:
439706672_XamSG-M.jpg

7th Day of Christmas:
Marc put together our Gingerbread Tree and we watched the Jim Carrey version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".

439719140_opZxa-M.jpg

8th Day of Christmas:
Decorated our Gingerbread Tree. Now we went off how it looked on the box per Marc's request. I don't think it came out great. Next year we will do it differently!

So that is what we have done so far. This is what we plan to do.

9th Day of Christmas:
Family Christmas Party at my Mom & Dad's. This is with my mom's side of the family and we do a gift exchange. We are playing a game with the exchange and I have come up with 50 questions.

10th Day of Christmas:
Christmas Photo of Marc, Myself and the kitties.

11th Day of Christmas:
We are going to watch two movies. "The Christmas Shoes" and "The Christmas Blessing". Marc hasn't seen either of them. They are very good Christmas movies.

12th Day of Christmas:
Hang our stockings.

That will bring us to Christmas Eve which we are spending with Marc's family. We are doing a seafood dinner and exchanging gifts. Marc and I are bringing a seafood bisque and a apple/gorgonzola salad. His brother is making some kind of shrimp and crab rangoons. MIL and FIL are doing dessert and rolls. We all wanted to start our our Christmas Eve traditions with the inlaws, usually they have a their huge family christmas party with FIL's side so this is the first year in 20 years that they are spending Christmas Eve with just the immediate family if that makes sense. I am so happy that MIL was open to a non-traditional meal, I think it will make our new traditions even more special.

Christmas Day is spent at my parents house. Where my brother and I will fight over me watching the Disney Christmas Parade. Christmas Day wouldn't be complete without Tim making fun of my love of everything Disney! :rotfl: Then my mom makes the most delicious meal of Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding, Carrots with Bacon, Rolls, Mashed Potatoes and believe it or not I don't know what she is making for dessert this year. Usually we have cheesecake but we haven't talked about it. I must do that tomorrow!

So there you have it. Our Christmas traditions.

And to keep this post on topic.....Only 155 Days until Disney!!

Here is what the Countdown Calender is looking like. Oh and the title of my countdown masterpiece is...

"What We Love About Disney" :goodvibes

What can you spot? ;)

Your new tradition is awesome. Ruby looks so cute in her sweater, too bad she didn't seem to feel the same. :rotfl: I know it's just the angle on the second picture that make her eyes look all narrowed, but I laughed out loud when I saw it, because she looks so PO'd!

I LOVE Mickey's Christmas Carol. I remember watching it so much when I was little, so I have really fond memories of it. I also had a VHS tape of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Songs that I used to watch all. the. time. I got a DVD with some of those on it, and I think we have Mickey's Christmas Carol somewhere. AHHH I need to go find it so I can watch it tomorrow.

I love the 12 days of Christmas tradition you started!! It's good to start the traditions before the family... you're more "ingrained" then:goodvibes

I may have to try a version of the 12 days next year:thumbsup2

Tom and I's first tree looked just like yours... brings back sweet memories

i love the cat in the sweater:rotfl: Allison is forever dressing up our kitties in her build-a-bear clothes.... i can't believe they put up with it!!

I'm a huge fan of Charlie Brown Christmas and Mickey's Christmas Carol...I could watch them both over and over and never get tired of it.

I have to tell you I love your angel tree topper it is simply stunning and it looks really good on your tree!!

Make sure you have plenty of tissues when you go to watch the Christmas Shoes...man I can't even listen to that song without have a mini breakdown.

No worries I'll be watching the Disney Christmas parade with you too LOL! Prince Phillip makes fun of me for watching it all the time, just wait til we have kids LOL!!!:rotfl:

Love the itinerary so far LL!!! Love the 12 days of Christmas too!!!

Great traditions, LL and Marc!

Your cranberry & popcorn garland made me really hungry!

I spy... fastpasses! and Main St.! and... A Dole Whip?! :scratchin

The 12 days of Christmas extravaganza is awesome. I think I may need to try something like that next year with my little family! :goodvibes

LOVE your 12 days of Christmas tradition. That's awesome! I agree with CP, Ruby does not look happy in her Christmas sweater!

My brother makes fun of me watching the Disney Christmas parade too! In fact I just set up to record it on the DVRs both at my house and my parents house where I'll be Christmas morning. I need to be prepared!

The countdown calendar... I spy... fast passes, a light fixture, the castle, fireworks, some food porn...

The countdown poster is another great idea. You are very creative!! :)

I love your 12 days of Christmas. What a lovely way to build some traditions.
Thanks. We have been having a lot of fun!

Ruby was not very happy with us at all. I am hoping to get her and Sulley in the Christmas photo of Marc and I too and I'd really like her in the sweater again. :lmao:
I know that they have Mickey's Christmas Carol on DVD at Target and I think it's only $10 or so. I am not sure, I was looking at so many DVD's last night there that I could be jumbling it up!

We had a huge full size tree last year but our apartment is SO SMALL that it just makes it so cramped plus we rearranged our furniture this year so it just didn't make sense to get a huge one again. I do miss the smell of a real tree though. The sweater I got Ruby was for a bear, I got it at the craft store though! :rotfl:

She wasn't happy AT ALL. I am a mean momma. I even have the scratches to prove it. She wouldn't let me put her in it so Marc had too. I should have gotten pictures of that. :lmao:

I love my poster, I get so much joy out of it. I can't wait to make another one after our May Trip. I also thought of something to post too once it gets closer to my trip. I am going to count how many pictures I have on the poster and once it gets to that day, I am going to post one a day until our trip. I really enjoyed Lynn & Chuck's picture countdown and that way you guys can see each picture that I put on there too! :thumbsup2 Because let's face it, I did the poster just as much for you guys as I did for myself. ;)

I really love the Angel. It was $2.99, my best Christmas purchase this year I think!!
I cry EVERYTIME I watch Christmas Shoes, I really like the sequel too but it's not as tear inducing.
I think Ruby has been trying to get rid of the sweater, she keeps knocking it off the counter and I find it all over the house. :rotfl:

Love the itinerary so far LL!!! Love the 12 days of Christmas too!!!
Thank you!!

Great traditions, LL and Marc!

Your cranberry & popcorn garland made me really hungry!

I spy... fastpasses! and Main St.! and... A Dole Whip?! :scratchin
It was a lot of fun to make!

You are correct! I'ts fun to see what I put on there, because I have forgotten by now. :rotfl:

The 12 days of Christmas extravaganza is awesome. I think I may need to try something like that next year with my little family! :goodvibes
It's a lot of fun. I did find out though that the 12 Days of Christmas are actually the 12 days after Christmas. Oh well. Once Christmas comes, I am in no mood to keep the celebration going on.

I have the parade set to record on our DVR too! I plan on coming home from my parents and really enjoying it. I figure too that I can keep it on there and get a taste of Disney when I am having a bad day!

Of course you spy Light Fixtures! I am addicted to them afterall! :rolleyes1

That's a great idea. I loved Lynn and Chuck's countdown also! I need a little Disney joy each day like that! That's another reason I love Lara's trivia everyday, too!

Why isn't my user CP letting me know when there is a new update??? Completely missed the 12 days of Christmas. Really cute! Are you dug out of the snow yet????
