Nope, different.

Full hook up is water/electric/sewer

Preferred are water/electric/sewer/cable and are located closer to the marina

Currently they are different, but once they are done adding cable to the Full Hook up loops, they will be the same as preferred (amenities and not location). We had a full hook up reservation for our stay before Thanksgiving and our assigned site (1324) already had the cable installed.

Have Fun!

Not quite the same. The preferred sites are staying as is. The full hookup sites are undergoing a few changes (cable, wider site entrance, fully paved site-no sand pad, upgraded grill and picnic table) that differentiate them from preferred sites and they will now be called premium sites.

We requested a preferred site, 2 actually, in June and I noticed that loops 1600-1900 are also considered preferred. We are hoping for 100-200 for the 2 sites together. We had the 100 loop last June and it worked out great. I am trying to figure out why the 1600-1900 loops would be considered preferred also, since they don't look that close to the meadows and pool from the map. There are much closer ones. Our hopes were that we would be close enough for the kids to be able to walk to the beach. They spend more time there than anywhere. In the "outlying loops" it would not be an option.

If I understand correctly, there will be no more full hookup when the renovations are done, only preferred and the new premium. that is why the far out loops would be prefered.I can only guess that they wont run sewer to the partials to make them preferred.

According to John at the front desk - and this was as of December 11th - the only loops remaining as full hook-up are 1600 & 1900, as they will not have cable. This past summer when contractors were running the conduit for CATV & installing the terminals, they only did 1700 & 1800 in the original pet loops. (1600-1900) When we were at the Fort 12/11 to 12/14, they hooked up the CATV in 900. When we checked in on the 11th, 900 was a full hook-up loop. When we checked out it was a preferred. On the same weekend they re-opened 1200 as a premium loop & were going to close 1300 to upgrade it to a premium. Location has no bearing any more. It's what ammenities you have that determines the "grade" of the loop.

Interesting the different stories you get. I was told 1600-1900 were all going to remain classified full hook up due to their location. I was told they were "too far away" to be considered preferred and they were not getting the premium treatment (i.e. longer cement pads, tables etc.) I was there right after the first pipes were put in the ground in that area and the "head end" spot where the cable comes into the loops (its in the trees next to the entrance to the 1700 loop) had 5 pipes, one larger one (with the larger supply CATV cable) and four smaller pipes, each labeled 1600, 1700 1800 & 1900.

It will be interesting to see how it all works out.

Nope - we were there over Halloween on site 1724 & it was considered a preferred. When we were there 12/11 to 12/14 the only full hook-up loops were were 1600, 1900 & 900. Now, 900 is a preferred due to the CATV.

Over the summer I biked at FtW once a week & saw all the fill work & CATV installation in 1600-1900 & they only ran conduit to 1700 & 1800. Now, that's not to say they didn't sneak some conduit to 1600 & 1900 when I wasn't looking!:rolleyes1 Who knows the mind of the mouse? They will keep us all confused so we'll quit asking for specific loops or worse yet....a particular site!! <gasp>

Another twist to this site level mess is that Full Hookups are available for booking all the way through December 2009, so who knows what is going on??

Deb- I think you got some bad information. I am certain that I saw folks connected to cable in the 1900 loop in November, and I also saw conduit installed in the 1600 loop, and folks connected to cable in that loop too.

I do not think it is fair to call the 1600-1900 loops preferred. The original concept of a preferred loop was that it was in a preferred location, i.e. close to something, like the Meadows area, or the Settlement. The 100-300 loops are in a far superior location as compared to the 1600-1900 loops, yet a camper will be charged the same rate on these loops.
