The Trip where Disney Lost a Bit of Magic
11th-14th December 2008
Day 2 - Friday 12th December 2008
Beep...Beep...Beep...Only 6.30am and the phone alarm is already going off! We had decided to make the best use of the EMH again on this trip. Unfortunatly today Mum, Dad and Uncle Matty would have to saty behind as they were buying their AP's today and therefore couldn't get in for EMH. 7:30 cam round and off to the Breakfast pick up point...only to find that it hasn't opened, come 7:39 that is rectified as a young and obviously still asleep CM flings open the hatch and starts serving breakfast. I think this is an awesome idea. You get to have a paid for breakfast but also get to eat it in far more civilised surroundings. Full and ready for the off we pull away at 7:50 to make the short drive to the HNY to park using our Dream AP's. Inside the park and it's straight to the family favorate of Buzz, Kacee managed to get 300 on this ride while Daddy hit a personal best of 276,500! Next was the Carousel, Peter Pan (whcih Kacee loved on this trip) Dumbo, Teacups, Orbitron and a further go on Buzz.
Suddenly we realised that it was already 10am and we were supposed to be meeting outside the DLH underneath the Mickey Mouse Clock. This is where we had our big problem of the holiday, one that I have emailed and written to DLRP in order to complain. The CM at the desk said that Saturday was a blackout day for Fantasy Pass holders so we had to buy Dream Pass instead, I queried this as I was prepared for this trip...not only did she not bother to ask anyone else she said "I'm right, you are wrong it's a blackout day" Needless to say that we had to buy Dream Passes as we couldn't take the risk, although I have now complained about this and I will update when I get a response from DLRP. Anyway...we then went into the park to get the actual AP's sorted and as we did the the Character Express came rolling past with Rabbit on it. Kacee managed to get a hug and a dance with Rabbit but in the excitement I'd left the camera in the AP Office so we have no picture!
We then headed for IASW as our first family ride altogether. Everyone loved the look on Kacee's face as he was going round. We all decided on POTC next and then onto PM. We then headed to the Delecetessen for a Croque Monsiuer which was delicious. Mum wanted to ride Casey Jnr so we headed off there, looking through Belle's Village. Casey Jnr and then Storybook ride done and it was into a cafe for a hot chocolate. One thing I did like was the fact that everytime you bought a hot drink you were given a voucher for another free one between 3 and 7pm! We then decided to head for the Studio's as my Mum and Dad haven't been here since 2002. Matty and I went on ToT followed by RnR whilst my parents went on the Backlot Tour and Ellie sat having a break while was Kacee was having his afternoon nap. It had come round to 6pm so we headed back to the Ranch in time for a quick shower before our 7:30pm booking at the Buffet. This was very nice and a report has been posted in the appropriate place. Shattered, cold and very happy with how the day had gone we all collapsed into (seperate) beds at around 10:30pm
