Disney Fan, feeling like a fish out of water.

I'm only going for the weekend? What's the best dinner for a great Saturday night meal (its my wife's birthday)

What else should I try? Thanks :wizard:

I found this list for City Walk... What about eating at the resorts?

NASCAR® Sports Grille
Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.™
Jimmy Buffett’s® Margaritaville®
Bob Marley - A Tribute to FreedomSM
Hard Rock Cafe®
Emeril's® Restaurant Orlando
Pat O'Brien's®
NBA City
Latin Quarter™
PastamoréSM

Margaritaville is my favorite, with Hard Rock Cafe being second. The music is played loud at both restaurants, with both having festive atmospheres.

If you're going for sophistication, choose either Emeril restaurants: Emeril's at Citywalk, or Emeril's Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort. They have a business casual dress code for dinner, while the price is pretty expensive. Out of those two, our favorite is Tchoup Chop which has a South Pacific atmosphere.

Although I haven't eaten a meal at Pat O'Brien's, they do have a dueling piano bar. In the past, we have stopped by on a Saturday evening for entertainment. The piano players have been very talented. Be forewarned, that bar starts getting packed after 9pm.

While i love eating at Margaritaville, i enjoy the food at Islands at RPR, good food and not overpriced, in a lovely atmosphere.

i love about everything on the menu for HRC

if you want to drop a lot of money, the Palm at HRH is excellent.

do make a ressie if you want to go there on a saturday night.

the RPH dining room has great food also.

what type of food do you prefer?
city walk has a variety of items on the menus based on the resturaunts.

Thanks so much for all the help  :thumbsup2

I like all kinds of food, and the recommendations have been very helpful so far. I've got some thinking to do :confused3 :surfweb:

After our first night (my wifes birthday) on our second night I'd like to find the best place to get a good meal and do some great people watching at city walk? I love a good view :3dglasses :wizard:

How do they make reservations at Universal. I'm staying at Royal Pacific and I heard that guest get priority reservations? Compared to Disney I'm use to booking so far in advance.... whats the norm for booking at Universal? I'm going Jan 10th so this is a quick trip, and our first time staying at Universal..(I've only done it as a day trip before and never been to City Walk at Night)

We are there in July , and never made reservations for Citywalk, you show your room key and they will tell you How long the wait is,but if you want Emerils you might need to book, although in January ,do not think it would be long. You could always get the concereige to make ressies for you.

since you are going early january, the parks should not be crowded.

you can make a ressie at the booth in city walk the morning of the evening you want to dine there.

allears.net has the menus for universal besides the disney menus.

there is a thread on this forum of food in universal parks and cw.
take a look at it and read the comments made by the guests.

Emeril's at City Walk and the restaurants in the resorts do not give you priority seating for staying on site. Make a reservation if you want to eat at Emeril's or Ermill's Tchoup Chop (at the Royal Pacific Resort). Reservations for both can be made on line at www.opentable.com

If you stay on-site, you can make advanced reservations in the morning before going to the parks by calling the number given in the information left in the room. We used that option in Aug. and were taken care of quickly without any trouble. Your room key does get you priority seating when you get to the restaurant but there are certain times and days that that is not an option.
